Campground has best activity schedule of any place we've gone and includes quality activities for adults, kids, and sometimes even pets! Camp owners/staff are friendly and visible throughout the campground and during activities. Salt water pool is a nice addition. Wi-Fi signal was strong. Campground promotes recycling by making it easy for campers to do so. Lack of sewer connections, dusty entrance road and poor traffic pattern due to closed lower gate are only things that keep this from being a 10 for us. Rate reflects AAA discount.

We just returned from a four night stay at Artillery Ridge Campground. Overall the park is older and is need of a facelift; however, as a group we had a pleasant time while staying there. Our site was fairly level and there were a number of shaded sites. The big draw for this park is horse owners. The park allows you to bring your own horse in, stable it, and ride it through the battlefield (I'm guessing). The campground is conveniently located near the downtown area which was ideal. Additionally, the park offered horseback battlefield tours which we did take part in. The horseback tours are one hour or two hours depending on your preference. When we first arrived at the park I was a little disappointed by its appearance; however, everyone was friendly and made our stay enjoyable. We likely wouldn't stay there again simply because we would opt to try one of the other parks in Gettysburg.

We stayed at Hershey Highmeadow Campground for Memorial Day weekend. We stayed in site 42 which was located in the top campground. Wi-fi was very good and was included in our nightly rate. The site itself was not very good. There was a decent amount of mud and it was very un-level. In touring the park we found that there are many good sites to choose from. The pool seemed nice and the campground store was excellent. Customer service in the campground was also good. Had it not been for our poor site, I would've rated this park higher. Our site did not have sewer; however, there were many full hook-up sites in the Woodland area of the park.

We just returned from a three night stay at this park. We have been staying at this park for the past five years and continue to see big improvements. We stayed in site 312 which is a back-in site on the river. It was the first time we stayed in the lower campground but were not disappointed. The river sites are excellent and are able to accommodate large coaches. Despite a weekend filled with rain we still managed to have a good time. The owners were friendly as were the many workers. The park added cable for this season and we were able to pull in 60 plus channels. We look forward to returning to his park.

We just returned from our third visit to the Woodland Campground. Let me start by saying the park owners, are top notch in that they truly do pride themselves on everyone having a positive experience. We stayed at the park prior to them taking it over and it seemed outdated. Since then, we have seen remarkable progress with each visit. We stayed in site 12 and had no problems getting level. Escorted us to the site and helped us get situated in relation to our hook-ups. One of the biggest draws to the park is it's large fishing lake. It's catch and release and offers great entertainment for all. There are several boats that can be rented as well. Staff is very conscientious about the landscaping in the park as we saw her planting flowers and mulching. The campground store is small but has everything you need. There are a number of seasonals; however, they have been friendly with each visit we have made to the park. Water pressure was good and Wi-Fi has improved since our last visit. All sites get the local channels via the cable provided throughout the park. We were not able to pick up much with our antenna. If you have a satellite system on your coach you will not have a problem getting reception. Cell phone coverage was good and the park is not located far from I-80. That being said, the noise from the interstate was not an issue. The nightly rate does we listed does not factor in the Good Sam's Discount. We're looking forward to a return visit in June.

We camped here in a travel trailer and were very excited about our site (50). The site had all amenities including a concrete patio which came in very handy as it rained non-stop during our three night stay. Close proximity to historic landmarks as well as the Charlestown attractions. The campground store was very nice and we loved the two dollar all you can eat pancakes on Saturday and Sunday mornings, the hosts even gave our dog a free pancake and sausage link each morning. Overall, the rain was a damper but we had all the amenities of being at home so we made the best of it and would return again.

We stayed at Hershey Highmeadow Campground in August and were happy with our stay. We really enjoyed the campground store but wish there would have been more planned activities hosted by the campground itself. We stayed in an electric/water hookup site on the hill and were very satisfied. Our only complaint from the trip (7 days) was the restrooms. Overall a good stay and would return again.
