Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort, Reedsport, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This is a rustic park right on Loon Lake. The setting is just beautiful. Families have been vacationing at this park for years. It was fun hearing kids of all ages laughing and having fun. Everyone was respectful of the quiet hours. It is about 15 miles from Reedsport to the park and takes 40-60 minutes depending on traffic and your comfort in driving a two lane twisty road. If you are not comfortable, just go slow. It is worth the drive to be at this park. Everyone welcomed us with open arms. Our check-in was fast and friendly, site was level. Check in is at the lodge. WiFi was good. Sites are dirt, but roads are gravel. Cable TV was limited to only about ten channels. No Verizon or AT&T data or voice cell phone service due to remoteness of the location. We interacted with the staff a couple of times during our stay and all were positive. Some sites are under huge trees and others are in full sun. This part of the country has had no rain all summer so grass is very thin and brown. Utilities work well and are placed well. This was a last minute reservation for us as we wanted out of the smoke inland from all the fires. We are so glad we found this gem of a park and will definitely plan to return. We camped at Loon Lake Lodge and RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

AtRivers Edge RV Resort, Brookings, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful Park on the Chetco river. All paved roads and we were in a paved pull through which was long enough for our 43ft fifthwheel & F350 Long bed truck. Steep road down to the park, but no clearance issues. The park is clean and well maintained surrounded by large trees and the river.. The staff were pleasant and helpful. There is a lot of grass in the park and between some of the sites -- The parking pad is either gravel or macadam with a concrete patio and the roads are asphalt. The park is right on the Chetco River and the environs are very green. We stayed here a week and enjoyed the park and sight seeing. We would come here again. The park is just a few minutes from the marina. WiFi worked fine - it's Tengonet. Our AT&T phones got about 1 bar and were virtually un-usable. That is not the park's fault. I have my Verizon Jet Pack 4 bars. Many folks set up their RV for the entire summer. All were very, very friendly. Check in was a pleasure and we were escorted to the site and amenities were explained. The river is tidal so we got to see it at low tide and high tide. We would definitely stay again! We camped at AtRivers Edge RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park), Central Point, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Park is next door to the fair grounds Park will NOT accept mail or packages for RVers. This is a beautfiul park right on Bear Creek with a nice big pond. Very well lined up with nose and tail of the RV facing East and West. Park was built in 2017 so trees are small but each site has large grass area on each side and beautiful landscaping. Access of Hiway 5 was easy and entrance to park is by gate 5 of the fairgrounds. Park is close to Hiway 5 and an airport but not too much noise from either one RV pads are black top and level. Sites are very wide so no problem with big rigs opening slides and awnings. The electrical utility box (20/30/50 amp) and water are located in the middle and the sewer connection situated at the back of the site. The voltage was good - hovering around 120 volts. The premium sites are the back-in rather than the pull-thrus. Each site had a concrete patio with a picnic table and a fire ring. Free WiFi that actually worked. Verizon air card and cell phone reception was good. There is a dog run and 2 fishing lagoons. The street lamps do a good job of lighting the roads around the campground. There are no bugs in July. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

McCloud RV Resort, McCloud, California

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Weekly rate includes $1/day per dog and $2/day for extra person. We pull a 43' Fifthwheel with a long F350. This is a beautiful grassy park, nestled in among towering pines and we were still able to easily get satellite signal. Very pleasant staff. Park is immaculately kept. Well marked and convenient pet area plus plenty of room to play with your furry friend. Site was level. With park practically empty, we could connect to their WIFI but no connections to Internet - pitiful! Verizon Hotspot signal strong. Utility connections are all at the back of the site and work well. Access from road is easy and easy to maneuver within the park on paved lanes. Some sites appear to be quite close together. We are in the first row - Site #78. These sites are long and wide enough for big rigs. Town is very small. Nice little grocery store here. Nice Cottages here. We will definitely return. We camped at McCloud RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Navigation into the park is very easy. Navigation through the park is very easy Lanes are wide & paved. They offer a choice of site lengths. Sites are wide concrete pads with a picnic table. Plenty of room to put out your slides. Nice large grass area between each site. 2 trees on each side of your rig - they are small now but in time will offer good shade. Ponderosa RV Resort, Lotus, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $80.00
Overall Rating:

I would have rated this park better if it had not been so expensive. We stayed 13 nites and paid $61/nite for some nights and $64/nite for other nites. Plus $4/nite "resort" fee. Trust me this is NOT a resort. We had no sewer but since the site had 50 AMP power we were charged a nitely fee of $5.00 plus a second nitely fee of $10. So our rate was either $80/nite or $84/nite. WAY too expensive! This is a Thousand Trails park. This is an older, very rustic park situated right on the American River. . The park is built down a steep hill with various camping sections. There is a nice sized fenced in dog park at the top of the hill. Unfortunately it is quite a steep hike to get your dog to it if you are down on the river like we are. There are just a few sites that can accommodate a big rig. Our site (H18) faces the river so the views are gorgeous and the site is large. Overall the sites are a variety of sizes - tiny to large. Lanes are gravel and very very narrow. We pull a 43ft fifthwheel with an F350 dually truck and navigating to the site was not easy. Sites are all gravel and narrow with picnic table. Being down on the river, there are no trees for shade. Utilities all work well and are placed in the center of the site. Most sites do not have sewer. WIFI worked well but AT&T Cell phone and Verizon hotspot had no service at all. Road noise at our site is not a problem nor is the noise from trains or planes. We had no bugs in June. Nice pool. No onsite laundry or camp store. We camped at Ponderosa RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Sparks Marina RV Park, Sparks, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Our rate is a weekly rate. Nice destination park - 15 minutes to downtown. This is a very pretty and well maintained park with gorgeous views of snow capped mountains. Marina is nearby. Sites are tight for big rigs. Streets would be considered wide streets if it were not for all the vehicles parked on both sides. Sites have nice level concrete pads with young tree on each side so sites are very sunny. There is very nice green Astro turf on between each site. It is an easy walk around the lake and marina. Each site has a picnic table. Entry to Park is very easy. Lanes are paved. Utilities all work well and are placed in the center of the site. WiFi worked well. Road noise is not a problems nor is the noise from trains or planes. Laundry is quite small for a park of this size. If more than two people in the laundry room, it gets crowded. Nice laundry but expensive. Small washers are $2.25 per load and dryers are $1.75 per load. May is still very cool at night so we saw no bugs. Nice pool and spa. Two fenced dog runs. We will definitely return to this RV park. We camped at Sparks Marina RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Entry to Park is very easy. Beautiful mountain views . The campground is rustic and we liked it very much. There is a laundry, which was clean. There are no restaurants or gas stations. Lanes are gravel. Navigation through the park is easy. Sites are extra long, nice and wide with a shade tree or two and gravel There are Trees on each side of the site that are well trimmed. Utilities all work well and are placed in the center of the site. WIFI worked well Road noise is not a problems nor is the noise from trains or planes. Death Valley Inn and RV Park (formerly Burro Inn Casino & RV Park), Beatty, Nevada

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is an easy drive North from Las Vegas. This is a small park that is part of a motel. Park is all dirt with two medium sized trees on each side of each space. All sites are pull thru and big rig friendly. Most folks pull in for one night and pull out next day. The views are incredible as Beatty is in a very narrow valley between two mountain ranges. Sites are long with well placed utilities that work well. Very little road noise and no train or airplane noise. Good WIF and ATT and Verizon cell coverage. Good cable TV with HBO. As others have noted, the park manager can appear grumpy but he was very helpful to us. There is a big Fall Festival in Beatty around the end of October every year that looks like a lot of fun. The price is right. You enter the park, go to the appropriate row and then check in. We will definitely stay here in the future. We camped at Death Valley Inn and RV Park (formerly Burro Inn Casino & RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A definite resort. Easy access to highways and to Vegas Strip. Just south of the city HIGHLY Recommended. Trees for shade on premium sites/ WIFI is good. Concrete Pads and asphalt roads. Onsite cafe for breakfast & lunch. A bit of freeway noise but not bad. This is a really nice RV park. Sites are wide enough and long enough for a big rig. Ours is 43 ft! We are in space 171 which has an additional concrete pad for us to park our truck. Facilities are just beautiful. GPS can get confused so be sure to use the directions on the park website for accessing this park. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Expensive but there are great distances between towns in this part of Arizona. A nice KOA with sites plenty long enough for our 43 ft. fifth wheel and Ford F350 one ton dually pick up. Sites are all dirt with Picnic table. All sites have trees and shrubs on both sides for privacy and shade. Heated pool and spa as well as childrens playground, small fenced dog run and miniature golf. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Utilities all work well and are well placed in the center of the site. WIFI is excellent - even with the park being quite full!!! The view is of fields and mountains. We will definitely stay here again. Kingman is a much larger town than you might think being out here in the middle of nowhere. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

We pull a 43 ft fifthwheel with a Ford F350 1 ton dually pick up. This is a huge park of primarily park models. No dog run. and a long walk to the club house and pool and other facilities. Park is beautiful with lots of green grass and tall trees and beautiful flowers. Streets are macadam. Spaces are large and long. Short term RV sites are 30/50 AMP Full Hook Up on sand with a narrow concrete pad for a patio. Folks here are very friendly. This park is a gem. New owners and workers are totally committed to your satisfaction. No cable yet/under construction. Spacious sites , some with big trees. Very large fenced dog park. All thick bed of gravel. Very clean. Very long and wide spaces with good sized trees and shrubs. True it is very close to I10 so road noise is constant.
