J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $62.00
Overall Rating:

We pull a 43 ft fifthwheel with a long bed F350 dually truck. Really beautiful park, well laid out, lots of tall pine trees and shrubs between each site. These sites are huge! Nice large, level, shaded, gravel site. Lanes are gravel and easy to navigate through the park. There are several large landscaped visiting areas in the park to enjoy. Easy to find, right off the road No train or plane noise. Staff are really nice and helpful. As well there is a large fenced in dog area to play. Wifi okay for checking email but slows down in the evening time when, of course, everyone wants to check email. AT&T cell service is good. Our Verizon WIFI hotspot worked great. Satellite worked great. Park is close to nice shopping and restaurants. No bugs. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Zuni Village RV Park, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The roads are paved and easy to navigate. Sites are dirt with gravel, nice and long for our 43 foot fifthwheel and wide enough for our big F350 Dually to park. All sites are 30 ' x 60 '. Lots of tall trees between sites give nice shade. The park is well maintained and clean. It's quiet. It's close enough to Hwy 40 to be convenient, but far enough away so that it's quiet. The hookups were conveniently located near the center of the space and work well. They have no cable, but the OTA is very robust with about 30 channels. Our AT&T Cell and Verizon WIFI work well here as does our satellite. We did not get good park WIFI from our site but recognize we are here on a weekend and the park is full. Amazingly large and modern laundry room. Small but clean pool. Close to everything, Shops, attractions, services. On a main road but quiet at night. The staff in the front office was a gem. We camped at Zuni Village RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Needles KOA, Needles, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from the hiway. This park is old and very tired. The park is all dirt. Lanes are easy to navigate for big rigs. 50 AMP sites are pull-through and wide with plenty of room to park your toad. Utilities worked well. AT&T cell worked well and Verizon hotspot worked well. Park WIFI was okay. Problem with this park is that there are trees and flowering shrubs between sites and around the park that have not been watered. We thought perhaps it is a drought. As we pulled out heading East however, the RV park right next door is beautiful. We camped at Needles KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Barstow / Calico KOA, Yermo, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $51.00
Overall Rating:

We pull a 43 ft fifthwheel with a long bed F350 dually truck. Really nice park, well laid out, lots of trees and large flowering shrubs between each site - all the green is a welcome relief in the desert. Nice large, level, shaded, gravel site. Lanes are gravel and easy to navigate through the park. Easy to find, right off the hiway. First site in each row may get a bit too much hiway noise. But if you are in second, third etc site, you will hardly notice the noise. No train or plane noise. Staff are really nice and helpful. The kids playground is very nice and large. As well there is a large fenced in dog area to play. The pool area is nice with shade and palm trees. There is a shaded area with hammocks for relaxing by the pool. They have two large "prospector tents" set up on a nice wood platform. And the tent area is probably the best we've seen - each tent site is flat sand with a short fence on 3 sides and a covered picnic table area with a BBQ. There are tall trees right behind the tent area for nice afternoon shade. One of the restroom buildings is very close to the tent area. Wifi okay for checking email but slows down in the evening time when, of course, everyone wants to check email. AT&T cell was 3 bars so pretty good. Verizon WIFI hotspot worked great. Park's cable TV was nice. Park is close to nice shopping and restaurants in Yermo. Or a few miles north into Barstow. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at Barstow / Calico KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Boulder Creek RV Resort, Lone Pine, California

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This park rates a "10". This is our second visit to this park and we wish we could have stayed longer and cannot wait to go back. However, I am rating this park a "7" because of how we were treated by the a couple working in the front office upon our arrival. We started hooking up to the electric. My husband has 3 degrees in Electrical Engineering. Due to having electrical difficulties 4 years ago, he uses a very expensive ( $400) test tool when hooking up to a park pedestal. The tool showed that two wires in the 50 AMP pedestal were reversed - one of those being the ground wire. When we told the folks in the office they categorically told him he was wrong! They declared that the Power Company checks the power at the park QUARTERLY and gives them a green thumb on power. First - next time you want to tell a camper "he is wrong", ask what his background is first! Second, the public utility has responsibility to the street!!! Not on your private property. YOU are responsible for the power at your pedestals. Had we hooked up, we would have had a "hot skin" which means our RV would have acted as the ground and anyone touching any metal on the RV could have been severely shocked. The couple in the office did send a young man to our site who used a volt meter and told us once again , the pedestal was fine. My husband went with him to another site using his diagnostic tool and proved to him that ' NO, the site was not fine.' The park manager then assigned us to a site that was wired correctly and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. No one ever said " sorry" and that leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. I appreciate this is the end of the season and folks in the office are probably quite tired and I appreciate some RV'ers may not know much about RVing. This is a wonderful park with very wide and long pull thru sites for big rigs with many tall trees and flowering bushes between sites. All the utilities work great. The other RVers are very friendly. The pool and spa are wonderful and just perfect after a day of sightseeing or four wheeling through the desert. We wish we could have stayed longer on this visit and will definitely return as often as we can. We camped at Boulder Creek RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Bridgeport Reservoir Marina & RV Park, Bridgeport, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a GEM! We pull a 43ft. fifthwheel with a long bed, F350 dually truck. The park is easy to access from the road. Navigating around the small park was easy. The new owner, Chase, was friendly and focused on making the experience good. The view of the reservoir and mountains is incredible, the spacing of sites is good and affords a bit of room. Location to the natural environment is great. Dog friendly. WIFI is very good. NO AT&T cell service. The other RV'ers were very friendly. Many sites have small trees on either side which will provide good shade in the years to come. Entire park is dirt - this is, after all, the high desert! Summers will be hot so happy to have the 50 AMP power for our AC's. There is a boat launch ramp that is busy. Great place to use as a base for trips up and down 395. You are minutes away from Bridgeport - we loved this town. We camped at Bridgeport Reservoir Marina & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

You are minutes away from Bridgeport - we loved this town. Good food at Rhino's Bar & Grill. These owners fully support the Marine base 4 miles out of town. Dinner and lunch were good. Three 95 restaurant is good for Mexican food. Be sure to stop in at Snap & Crackle coffee and hand made candies. Lovely sitting room in back and nice patio in front. Also for a white table cloth experience in an historic inn, try the Bridgeport Inn for any meal.

Topaz Lake RV Park, Topaz, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a Gem! Entrance into this park from the north - you stop at the agriculture inspection station and then almost immediately turn left down a paved driveway into the park. We pull a 43 ft. fifth wheel with a long bed F350 dually pickup and navigating around the small park was fine. Note: Park is 30 AMP only! And very few sites are big enough for big rigs so make your reservations as early as possible. Most of the RVers in the park have been going to this park for 35 years so it is like one big family. And visitors are made to feel very welcome. The owners are very nice, as is the maintenance men - all three go out of their way to welcome you and make you feel at home. They have a small store with RV essentials and basics like TP, paper plates and towels! There's a store a couple of blocks north at the Topaz Lodge and Casino if you need more than that. Summer is usually quite full, so make reservations in advance. Lots of tall trees for shade and incredible views of Topaz Lake from most sites, The parking area is dirt, so be prepared - this is high desert, you know. The location is great for water sports. Every site has a picnic table. They do not allow any campfires at all. Very nice, quiet park at night. Not a loud party scene at all. Quiet hours are 8 pm to 8 am. Dogs are very welcome. There's a beach to put up awnings and beach chairs. We bring kayaks and enjoy fishing. The town of Gardnerville is just 20 miles north and has everything you could want - big Walmart, big grocery store and even a Starbucks!! We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely plan to go back. We camped at Topaz Lake RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cal Expo RV Park, Sacramento, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort. I am rating this park a "10" because of what it does offer. Can accommodate all sizes of RV's. Very quiet. Park is at the very back of the Expo grounds so it felt very safe. This is a good park to stay while visiting Sacramento. It's close to major shopping, restaurants and theaters and not too far from the Capitol (a MUST see!) Very well kept, fenced and shaded dog park. If you're going in summer be advised Sacramento is frequently over 100 degrees and this park only has a few shaded spots. The best is #211 for a smaller rig. It seems all the big rigs are parked in a big gravel lot. Sites are wide and long enough to have your slides and awnings out. Also has good utilities and WIFI. ATT and Verizon cell service is good. The price is right too. This is not a resort but you get a big site, closeness to all the visitor sites and only $45 a nite. We will be back. We camped at Cal Expo RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lassen West Village, Westwood, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

I am rating this park a "10" based on the huge sites surrounded by huge pine trees and proximity to Lassen Volcano National Park. This is an old mobile home park - many of the mobile homes have been removed and sites converted for RV's. Sites are 80 x 100 = yes, 8,ooo sq. feet. The park is very rustic and some dilapidated mobile homes still exist. Ignore this and the park is a gem! Many nice shops and cafes just up the road in Chester. Our site had great WiFi, TV cable, electric, sewer and water connections plus a huge new picnic table and a fire pit. Park staff and rv'ers are very nice. We camped at Lassen West Village in a Fifth Wheel.

Likely Place RV & Golf Resort, Likely, California

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

What a gem! Big rig friendly spaces.. Sites were spacious. and gravel with big trees and a picnic table. Very easy to navigate our 43 ft fifthwheel and long bed F350 Dually. Site is plenty big enough to accommodate both our RV and truck. We had No ATT cell service but good Verizon MIFI Hotspot and satellite. Plugged address into GPS and drove right to it. Lovely mountain views. They had a telescope in the office that you could borrow to star gaze. This is a star gazers paradise with a grass meadow set up with concrete pads for RV'ers telescopes. They have a lovely grass meadow with telescope pads set up for folks. We are told the 18 hole golf course is excellent. The on-site grill is open for lunch and breakfast. We ate lunch there two days and found the food to be good. The nature trail is a very nice walk right around the RV park with a printed trail guide, great views and benchs to stop and rest. Staff and visitors are all so nice and friendly. We will definitely visit here again. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Junipers Reservoir RV Resort, Lakeview, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a gem. First do not leave the hiway until you see the park's very large sign. GPS took us off and up a rough dirt road at another ranch! When you see the park's sign, turn in and drive about 1 mile on a dirt road. They have signs to guide you. The park is set up in two concentric circles. As you enter, you will see a large sign giving instructions or you will be met by the camp host. Moving around the park is so easy. You drive in (one way)on the inner ring and pull straight in to your spot. When you leave, you pull out right onto the outer ring. The camp hosts were helpful and friendly. Each site has a tree that separates the sites. The sites are pull-through and they are angled so that there is a feeling of openness (no issues such as extending awnings and intruding upon your neighbor. The utilities were located perfectly for my fifth wheel. Beautiful facilities an beautiful bright green lawns and landscaping. Good wifi. Nice club area. Off the beaten path yet close enough to freeway for this area. This is a working livestock ranch with a lake stocked with fish. Very nice place to sit back and relax. We will definitely be back. . We camped at Junipers Reservoir RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

On the bank of the Williamson River. Nice small older campground. Sites are close together. The interior roads were tight but we were able to get our 43' 5th wheel thru. Lanes and sites are gravel with grass and big trees between most sites. There are very few 50 AMP Full Hook up Sites. Wifi was okay in the sites close to the office. AT&T cell signal was good. Verizon Hotspot signal was good. The grounds were very nice. Lots of grass. The employees were very nice. We would stay here again. We camped at Waterwheel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Casey's Riverside RV Park, Westfir, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park in a beautiful setting. A real gem! Right on the Willamette River. All the sites at this park are good. Macadam lanes and sites - most are very long - easily 70 ft or longer with wide grass areas between sites. Utilities are very good and placed at the back of the site. So bring long hoses and cables. This park is built on a small mountain - most sites are level but some are not - especially the ones right on the river. So bring some leveling blocks. Being in this park is worth it and trust me you'll need the extra hoses/cables and blocks a lot of other places too!! There is noise from a train - 2 times in the morning and 2 times around 8:00 PM or 9:00 PM. Otherwise totally quiet. Most sites have at least one or two tall trees and many barrels full of beautiful summer flowers. Park WIFI is fine for checking email. There is a small pool but not heated. Would enjoy the park a great deal more if the pool were heated. Not sure what the point is of a non-heated pool? No ATT cell service but good Verizon WIFI hot spot service. It is not too far to go to Eugene - a beautiful drive and a really fun town. We will definitely return to this park. We camped at Casey's Riverside RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

McKinley's Marina & RV Park, Waldport, Oregon

Overall Rating:

This RV park is on the Alsea River close to where it empties into the Pacific. Views are beautiful. Park is right on a local street with a bit of road noise but not bothersome. 50 AMP full hook up sites. Concrete lanes and sites. Very level. Lots of beautiful flowers all around. We just love this park. You can rent boats and all the equipment to go crabbing or fishing. We pull a 43 ft long fifth wheel with an F350 long bed dually. First in Site 67 facing the bay. Great views outside the back window but low water pressure, no WIFI and felt like we were all alone out there. Moved to a pull-thru close to the front - Site 22. Very WIDE,great WIFI. Has more of an RV feeling with folks all around. These pull through sites are very long very wide - enough for the rig and the toad. Many long term and permanent rigs, but all is very neat and the RV'ers are very friendly. Only pet area is a three foot strip on the front of the park. The utilities work very well. Good ATT Cell and Verizon WIFI. We camped at McKinley's Marina & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a clean orderly RV park, all concrete with very nice landscaping that gives a feeling of privacy. Park is very quiet. Front office staff are wonderful. Quite a few full timers here, but the RVs are new and no indication of long term detritus around. Good hookups. Beautiful big landscaping between sites gave a sense of privacy but did not interfere with slides. Really nice fenced in dog park. Excellent TV and WIFI. Code required to enter the park so good security. Laundry has huge washers and dryers. Wash $2.00 and dry $1.25. Nice fenced pet park. There is no picnic table which I miss.
