L.L. Stub Stewart Memorial State Park, Buxton, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

Hidden gem! Large secluded sites in the Dairy Creek West loop. Full hookups in the middle of a forest! Lots of neat local trails to hike. Quiet at night. We will return next year and stay at least 3 days to explore the local area and trails. Dairy creek west loop more shaded, kids playground in the newer "east" campground and shade trees not as mature, but there are some quite large spots in the east campground. We camped at L.L. Stub Stewart Memorial State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA, Hammond, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

Was able to get a back-in site on short notice. Unable to specify a specific spot unless you pay an additional 10 dollars during online booking? Plus 10 dollars a night "resort" fee. $$$ Was given a spot in the "400" loop. Do not stay there! Site to our left, fire pit 6 feet from slide window, unable to open any windows due to smoke. Sites are too close and recently added tv cable posts at rear of site impede parking units with two slides. Gravel access road was loud and dusty with speeding cars at all times of the day. We camped at Astoria / Warrenton / Seaside KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit Fort Stevens right across the street. BowPicker Fish and Chips downtown is a must visit, highly rated, great fish! Enjoyed the local area sights!
