Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This is physically one of the nicer parks you will ever see - clean, large sites, well-manicured, very nice surroundings and amenities. Why then a 3? I have stayed at more than 200 RV parks over the years and NEVER paid an additional "per person fee" when the only people involved were my wife and myself. $65/night is not cheap, but not out of line for the quality of the park. But then they add $4/person bringing the total to $73 for a nice park, but one which is not near anything remotely resembling a tourist attraction. This is nothing but gouging and this park should be avoided to discourage this type of price manipulation. We camped at Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Outdoor World - Harbor View Campground, Colonial Beach, Virginia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Not a great place for big rigs. Sites are tight and closely treed which makes awnings and slide outs a bit of problem. Park staff monitors the campground like hawks -- driving through dozens of times each day looking for things that shouldn't be happening. This is a mixed blessing; it keeps people in line to be sure, but you can get the feeling that you are under suspicion. Also, one of the only places I have ever stayed that requires the entire payment in advance, even if you book several months ahead. We camped at Outdoor World - Harbor View Campground in a Motorhome.

Frankenmuth Jellystone Park, Frankenmuth, Michigan

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nicest YBJ park we have visited. Beautiful setting, very well maintained, friendly and helpful staff. They were just gearing up for Memorial Day and the place was at its finest. Convenient to all Frankenmuth attractions. Sites are well spaced out and easy to navigate. We camped at Frankenmuth Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.

Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA, Williamsport, Maryland

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Read comments below about routing to park! Park staff needs to be more forceful about route when making reservations. If you get on the wrong route there is a one-lane bridge with a left turn which NO BIG RIG will be able to navigate. Beyond this issue, its an ok park, but just ok. Not a good choice for big rigs. We camped at Hagerstown / Antietam Battlefield KOA in a Motorhome.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient to I-65 and a good mid-way stop for those heading to the Gulf Region. Park is close to highway, so you do get some traffic noise. Sites are huge, gravel, and well-maintained. Not many trees. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Easy in and out with plenty of room and open space. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coastline RV Resort, Eastpoint, Florida

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent, relatively small park that sits right across the road from some beautiful Gulf views. Staff are very friendly and helpful, make you fell welcome and appreciated. Sits are large, with pavers and patios and plenty of room to park a toad. Great pool and facilities. Not alot of shade, so your AC will get a workout. We camped at Coastline RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Apalachicola is about 10 miles down the coastal road. Great small town for eating, drinking, and shopping. Beware of speed zones along coastal road -- they take these seriously.

Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga, Rossville, Georgia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Park is very convenient for overnight transits, being near the major highway intersections, but the sites are dreadfully small and packed in so tightly that almost no one can extend their awning. In addition the sites are laid out with the "patio" area at the rear of the plot so it is next to useless if you are driving a large rig. Fire rings are so close to your neighbor that a fire would do damage to the unit -- thankfully our neighbors were not in the mood for marshmallows! Don't think I would stay here again. We camped at Holiday Travel Park of Chattanooga in a Motorhome.

Flamingo Lake RV Resort, Jacksonville, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Large park centered around the lake and beaches. Water park is a blast for kids. Staff circulated all day picking up trash and cleaning the grounds. Sites are close together, and majority of the park is seasonal/permanent. Plenty of activities, friendly people abound. Good idea to rent Golf Cart, there is alot of ground to cover. Restaurant and bar are good. Does get very crowded on weekends. Staff is friendly and accomodating. This is a family-oriented park with lots of kids (and grandkids!). We camped at Flamingo Lake RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Look carefully at map to determine what type of site to request. There are some wonderful lakeside spots and some nice shaded areas. Some other areas of the park are less attractive - especially the lane that faces out to the highway. Best to chose an area and make a specific request to get the best options.

(food was good, service acceptable). Convenient to I95 but not so close as to be noisy. We camped at Palmetto Shores RV Resort (formerly Big Water Lake Club Campground) in a Motorhome.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second stay at Cedar Key. All other comments are accurate, the place is spacious, clean, and friendly -- everything you want in an RV park. Good mixture of shaded vs. open sites. A smattering of permanent sites, but locals are friendly and helpful. We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The town of Cedar Key is about 8 miles from the resort. It is a small waterfront town that has alot of charm, but many restaurants and stores are open only on weekends. Tony's Restaurant on 2nd St. is a must stop for its Award winning clam chowder. It is open daily. Overall, not alot of activities and things to do in the area (it is primarily a fishing region) but the RV park is a nice getaway for a quiet few days.

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Wonderful place. Beautiful scenery, very pleasant and helpful staff, RV sites are well-placed and spacious. Lovely pool, hot tub. Great place to wander and walk and meet friendly people. Can't wait to come back. Perfect place to escape the summer heat. Park is a mix of full-time cabins and RV spaces and has lots for sale, but still many rentals available. Not especially cheap, but worth the cost for sure. We camped at River Vista Mountain Village in a Motorhome.
