Cape Henlopen State Park, Lewes, Delaware

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at this state park campground for 5 nights, Sunday-Friday in August. There are pull-thru and back-in sites in this campground. Check the campground map and reserve early to get the right site for you and your rig. The campground is a quiet family campground and stays full and busy; it is clean and well managed. Staff is friendly and helpful. The campground lies within Cape Henlopen State Park which is large and has lots of activities. There is a historical fort, a nature center, playground, beaches, walking/biking trails, and observation towers. We usually tow a car with our RV but didn't bring one this time. We were able to ride our bikes wherever we wanted. We rode bikes to catch the ferry and went over to Cape May; we rode bikes to Rehoboth Beach; we rode bikes to the historical town of Lewes; we rode bikes to 4 different beaches, and we also rode all of the trails in the park. We camped at Cape Henlopen State Park in a Motorhome.

Happy Traveler RV Park, Thonotosassa, Florida

Date of Stay: November, 2017 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Our first impression was that the campground is convenient to Tampa, nearby attractions, and the highway. Also upon driving in, it appears to be an oasis of large shade trees right off a six lane hwy. Most sites are roomy, with a mix of grass, weeds, and sand.

The condition of the park is declining; the swimming pool needs repair and attention, buildings are aged, the laundry rooms have resident spiders and machines do not work properly. Roads are paved, but the dump station is in the middle of the road in front of sites. The center of the RV park houses a sewage treatment plant; every time the wind blows the aroma carries through the park. New park management is trying to make improvements to this park. We camped at Happy Traveler RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you visit Thonotosassa, Florida, be sure to visit Lettuce Lake Park off Fletcher Ave. There is a beautiful boardwalk there, and a nice, paved bike trail. In the opposite direction on Morris Bridge Rd are three beautiful wilderness parks, one with a really nice (flatwoods) 7 mile loop bike trail.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in a convenient location to visit Charleston and nearby attractions. It is clean, well managed, well designed, and easy to navigate. There are quite a few giant oaks and nice shade trees. Shaded and sunny sites are available. Full and partial hook-ups are also available. There are some speed bumps, but the roads are paved. The entrance is wide open with plenty of room to park while checking in. There is a swimming pool, laundry and restroom facilities with showers. The population is dense and traffic is heavy out on the main road, but the park remains quiet as there are no sites on the main road. The office/store carries a few staples, a lending library and brochures on local attractions. Propane is available for purchase. Fire rings and firewood come with a rental cost. There is a cell phone tower within sight, so our service was the best we've ever had: both phone and our WIFI. We stayed in an electric/water site in a 31' rig with a Checy Sonic toad. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Daddy Rabbit Campground, Willis, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Daddy Rabbit's is a campground in every sense of the word. It is secluded, rustic, wooded, hilly, gravel/dirt roads, and quiet. It is not difficult to get to, but you do have to drive down a couple of windy, narrow, country roads to get there. The staff is friendly. Closed in winter months, seasonal camping only. Group sites available. We camped at Daddy Rabbit Campground in a Motorhome.

Blanca RV Park, Blanca, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Small, old RV park on the main road, hwy 160. Gas station, convenience store, propane. Lots of empty sites so easy to get a spot. Trees are mature and provide ample shade. It's okay for a couple of nights. Visit Great Sand Dunes National Park. We camped at Blanca RV Park in a Motorhome.

ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This is a brand, spanking new RV park, so everything is clean and shiny. Great facilities with full kitchen, common room, library, restrooms, showers, fire pit, grill, coin laundry. They have RV and tent sites, and rooms for rent. Lay out for RVs sites is rough, their lot is triangle shaped up on a hill. Sites are small, close, tight, and not quite level enough. Trees are barely twigs, hill top can be windy so watch awnings. We camped at ACT Campground & Environmental Learning Center in a Motorhome.

Bauer's Canyon Ranch RV Park, Glendale, Utah

Another unusual place. Located on a multi-acre farm and owned by a generational farm family. The owner's are very warm and friendly. Cozy place. Small park. Sites are close with full hook-ups. Conveniently located right off the main road, yet quiet. Coin laundry. We stayed here three nights. Visit the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and Zion National Park while here. Cherry Hill Camping Resort, Fruit Heights, Utah

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This place is unusual. It's a small amusement park for children with camp sites for RVs and tents. Pull through sites are level, close, full hook-up. Tent sites are more generous in size and quieter. Steep hill to enter, so watch your tow hitch if towing. Convenient location for a quick, off-the highway one night travel stop. We camped at Cherry Hill Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated), Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

This park campground is unusual. Lots of sagebrush and scrubby trees. Sites are of decent size and easy enough to negotiate. National Park rules are first come first serve so best time to find a site is 11 am. Nestled right in the park, this campground is very convenient for seeing the Grand Tetons. Picnic tables and fire rings, no hook-ups, dump station. We camped at Gros Ventre Campground (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground, Wilson, Wyoming

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $113.00
Overall Rating:

Way, way, way overpriced, but no place else to stay for that one night. Sites are close and barely usable. Our sewer hose connection was under the neighbor's picnic table; our neighbor's slide almost touched ours. Dog poop droppings around our site. Fire ring practically touching the RV and not usable. People not friendly nor accommodating. The cabins look nice, but the RV portion is bad-worse and most expensive we've seen. Do NOT stay here-stay on the side of the road instead if you have too, good grief! We camped at Fireside Resort - Jackson Hole Campground in a Motorhome.
