San Lorenzo Park, King City, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Need to remember this is a county park so amenities are slim. Pretty much nothing to do in King City. Cork and Plough is about the only good sit down restaurant to eat at. Our stay was mid week in early spring. Most of the time there there was only a couple of other campers there. It is a good place to stop for the night or meet some friends for a day or two. At this time of the year you pay on the honer system. We had reservations but nobody checked on us the 3 days we were there. We camped at San Lorenzo Park in a Motorhome.

Inn Town Campground, Nevada City, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

There are about twice as many tent sights as RV sights. They have 12 very nice tent cabins also. The Rv sights are on the small side. Fair amount of room between sights for the most part. Park has only been open for a year so things are still being improved on. The pool is slated to open on May 31st of this year. Easy to get to Nevada City or Grass Valley. The employs are very nice and helpful. Several community areas with fire pits where a group could meet. Their web sight lists the sizes of the RV sights, pay attention. Most sights are designed for smaller RVs. Made reservations to go back in July for a family get together in Nevada city. We camped at Inn Town Campground in a Motorhome.

49er RV Ranch, Columbia, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. All spaces are dirt and pretty level. They have 2 areas called buddy spaces. These are so one rig can pull in and the other back in so "front yards" are facing each other. We did this and it was nice. The staff are almost embarrassingly helpful. The only down side is the bathrooms are clean but dated. There is only one shower for men and presumably one for women. Most of the sights have some shade but not much, so you will pay during the summer. The spots around what they call circle up RV corral are very close and it is pretty much a parking lot. We camped at 49er RV Ranch in a Motorhome.

Mount Madonna County Park, Watsonville, California

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a county park so I was surprised as to the cleanliness of the place and the condition of the sites. Think of this as a camp ground with RV spaces. By that I mean RV parks normally have some lawn and paved roadways (at least the ones we go to). The roadways are paved but everything else is dirt, so if you have kids they will get dirty.

Stayed in Valley View 1. Valley View #2 has little shade. All except for 3 or 4 sites are very shady. The ones in the center area are totally shaded. There is a dump station at this park.

Lots of hiking trails and mountain bike trails to hike or ride. We camped at Mount Madonna County Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Due to how close the park is to a large metropolitan area (San Francisco Bay area) this park is pretty much filled up during weekends in the summer. Plan ahead.

Cotillion Gardens RV Park, Felton, California

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Have stayed here during the summer as well as in the winter. VERY crowded in the summer, with RV's stacked in like a busy parking lot. Winter just the opposite, maybe 10 RV's in the entire place. Nice pool, hiking trails and easy drive to the beach so good for kids. We camped at Cotillion Gardens RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bakersfield River Run RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Some trees for shade and landscaping. Pretty quiet during the night. Spaces are decently wide. Roadways are paved. Sits along the Kern River, which is dry about 6 months of the year. If I needed to have a place to stay multiple nights in Bakersfield I would stay here. We camped at Bakersfield River Run RV Park in a Motorhome.

Canyon Trail RV Park, Boulder City, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 30' motor home with a short tow car. The spaces are a bit short but decently wide. I believe they said they are all 50' deep. The office staff was nice and helpful. There is no shade or landscaping to speak of. Nice place to stay for a night. We camped at Canyon Trail RV Park in a Motorhome.

USA RV Park, Gallup, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a park I would use as a one night stay only. It was crowded with narrow spaces. There is little or no landscaping to speak of. I woke up to freight trains going by several times during the night. There is an airport near by and a plane was doing "touch and goes" during the late afternoon and a couple of times during the evening. The staff are nice and the general cleanliness is good. They have a barbecue each evening "in season" which must be good because it was sold out by the time we went to get tickets. Oh, and the barbecue does cost extra. We camped at USA RV Park in a Motorhome.

Meteor Crater RV Park, Winslow, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very isolated and quiet park. About 15 miles to the closest town. Office for the park doubles as the office for a gas station. The people are nice and helpful and easy to get gas when you leave. Spaces are decent sizes. Since it's so isolated there is little or no traffic noise at night. We camped at Meteor Crater RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Pretty remote park. Closest town of any size is Cortez about 6 miles away. There really isn't anything in the town of Mancos. The bathrooms are NEW and VERY nice for an RV park. The biggest problem was the noise from any vehicles driving on the base rock surface that covers the entire park. No vehicles driving around, then it's nice and quiet. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

American RV Resort, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 5 nights during the Balloon Fiesta. Rates are jacked up during this week by about 15%. Easy access to Highway 40 and from there to Albuquerque itself. There is a very basic continental breakfast each morning. We camped at American RV Resort in a Motorhome.

J & H RV Park (55 + Park), Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Senior only park. Very clean and quiet. Office staff nice and helpful. Spaces were a bit narrow but lots of trees and landscaping for a nice setting. One of the quirks are the number of rules. There a lot of them such as "No cigar smoking anywhere", "No using a ladder to climb on top of your RV", "No antennas more than 5' taller than the RV", "No Pit Bulls, Rottweiler or Dobermans", also "No leashes over 6" long". My wife and I got a good laugh over them but since they didn't effect our stay, no problem. When in Flagstaff I would stay there again with no hesitation. We camped at J & H RV Park (55 + Park) in a Motorhome.

Laguna Seca Recreation Area, Salinas, California

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

Spent 3 nights here. Over all it was fine. The bathrooms were clean "enough" for a county / state park. The spaces on the south and east side have great views of the Carmel Valley. The spaces on the north side are going to be noise from the race track. You can hear the gun range but pretty much only pops, not annoying at all. We were in the Chaparral area. There is a nasty turn from the unmanned ranger station at the entrance. So swing wide or go up the road 50 yards to a nice wide turn around and come back at the turn from the opposite direction. Yes there is a short (maybe 3/8th of a mile) 16% grade to get up to the park. We were there over a weekend and never saw a park ranger. You are about 10 miles from Monterrey, easy drive. We camped at Laguna Seca Recreation Area in a Motorhome.
