Thousand Trails-Pine Country, Belvidere, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I think we have found a new favorite Thousand Trails park. Pine Country is a gorgeous park and very well kept. The staff is friendly and accommodating. I drive a very large truck to pull my 5th wheel and I am always concerned about getting into and out of places without getting into difficulty. One of the staff took me around to see the roads and site. I had no problem with either. They assign sites here which is a little unusual for Thousand Trails parks but 90 percent of the sites are seasonal sites. All sites have 30 amp electrical service but there is an an expansion being built that will offer 50 amp service. Those sites should be open by July 1st. We camped at Thousand Trails-Pine Country in a Fifth Wheel.

Lavonia COE, Lavon, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This was our first experience in a COE park and we will certainly use others. This is a well kept beautiful park. Each site has a picnic table and barbeque both covered by a shelter. I do wish that it had 50 amp connections, however. That is the only drawback. The temperatures approached 100° during our stay and we could only use one air conditioner at a time. Water pressure was 84 psi, so be sure to bring your pressure regulator. The RV sites are widely spaced and all have good views of the lake. Sites are long. We tow out 5th wheel with a Freightliner heavy duty truck and we had no trouble navigating the interior roads or backing into our site. Certainly big rig friendly. It is a very quiet and peaceful park. We camped at Lavonia COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Southbound 59 RV Park & Furnished Country Cabins, Victoria, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

I like t his park. We have stayed here twice and will do so each time we pass through. We have a large 5th wheel and pull it with a Freightliner Cascadia so we really need a long site whether it is a back-in or pull-through. Their sites are plenty large enough and I didn't have to disconnect my truck so I guess my site was about 80 feet long. It was easy to get into and out of with my big rig. The management have always been accommodating and welcoming. They offer good, free, WiFi and cable TV. This is not a 'destination' park but it is a great 'overnighter'. I didn't give them a '10' because I am just too hard to please so they get a '9'. We camped at Southbound 59 RV Park & Furnished Country Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Alamo Rec-Veh Park, Alamo, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Alamo Rec Vehicle Park is a place to spend the winter. South Texas is generally warm and sunny. The park has a lot of activities and there is a lot to do outside the park, as well. There are card games every night, a very nice pool and hot tub, shuffleboard, dinners, dancing, excellent music, and etc. Even 3 RC racing tracks a large pond for RC boats and fishing. Did I mention quilting and bingo? We spent 4 months and will be back. We camped at Alamo Rec-Veh Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Twin Buttes RV Park, Douglas, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Twin Buttes is a basic desert camp-ground that is an excellent place to stay while visiting the many sights in the area. The park host is a very friendly and accommodating woman who will see that you get settled in your site, have what you need, and can tell you about the many great places to visit in the area. There are a few long-term residents but the park is very neat and tidy. As others have stated the social hour is friendly and a great way to relax after travelling or sight-seeing all day. My site was plenty long enough for my 40' fifth-wheel and truck. We camped at Twin Buttes RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sportsman's Club Campground, Joshua Tree, California

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Nothing fancy, just a sand lot with hook-ups. 30 amp service only, low water pressure. There is WiFi but it is very weak. This park is not marked very well and many people miss the entrance and end up in the community center parking lot. The manager told me that they aren't really running an RV park, that it's mostly used for shows and special events. Our's was the only RV there. We camped at Sportsman's Club Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Three Forks Market & RV Park, Three Forks, Montana

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop, although, if you have business to do it wouldn't be bad for a few more days. The park is very well kept and very convenient since all 9 sites are pull through. Great water pressure, 76 psi. So don't forget your pressure regulator. Check-in is at the grocery store but don't pull into the store's parking lot. It's too small. Park on the side road between the RV park and the fairgrounds. Sites are fairly level, too. I have no problem coming back when I pass this way again. We camped at Three Forks Market & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lake Mitchell Campground, Mitchell, South Dakota

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Wow, I didn't expect a park this nice when I booked a site at a municipal park. This is a great place, right on the lake. I was in site #1 which was a 50 amp site, paved and plenty long enough for my 40 foot 5th wheel without unhooking. Good water pressure and free WiFi. Staff were friendly. There are lots of trees, too many for satellite. There are also nice hiking trails. We were only here for one night passing through but now I need to find an excuse to come back and stay longer. We camped at Lake Mitchell Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Camp Perry Lodging & Conference Center, Port Clinton, Ohio

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Small, very well kept park. Sites are very long, paved and very wide. Grass is good with young trees. Water pressure is good. You need to check in at the conference center which is a large building Northeast of the RV park. Be advised that pets are allowed in the RV park only, nowhere else on the post. If your dog needs a long walk you will make a lot of circles in the park. We camped at Camp Perry Lodging & Conference Center in a Fifth Wheel.

Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington, Wilmington, Ohio

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This could easily become one of our favorite parks but we don't come to Ohio often. When we do, this is where we will stay. The park is well kept and full of large mature trees. There is only 30 amp electrical service but it wasn't a problem since the weather was cool. We are an older couple and appreciate the quiet atmosphere. There are things for kids to do, including a playground, miniature golf, a catch and release pond, and a canoeing pond.
Verizon coverage is good and, if you pick a site carefully, your satellite TV will work well, too. We camped at Thousand Trails Preserve / Wilmington in a Fifth Wheel.

Diamond Caverns RV Resort and Golf, Park City, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very quiet park with lots of hills and paths to walk. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We were in the A row which backs up to the trees. Some sites are long enough for a very long rig, even our 40' fifth wheel and truck parked in line. Good but pricey WiFi at the sites. Good Verizon service. The grounds are beautifully kept. Eagle Crest Golf & RV Resort, Alma, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very quiet park behind the golf course that is not easy to find. We were visiting family that live on the golf course so it was very convenient. Water pressure is good, 50 amp hook-up works fine and the grounds are well kept as you might expect at a golf course. I don't think that this park gets much use and we were the only RV there. It is mainly for golfers but they seemed happy to have us. We will certainly be back when we are in the area. We have a 40 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Eagle Crest Golf & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Seaside RV Resort, Thousand Trails , Seaside, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of our favorite parks in the Thousand Trails system and we come here a few times each year. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park is divided into two parts. The north side has 50 amp sites while the south side has 30 amp sites. I believe all sites have sewer but WiFi is only at the clubhouses. Verizon works well and satellite depends on your site. Some sites are close but some have much more room. As always, at Thousand Trails preserves, you choose the site you like and let them know where you parked.
