Grand Sierra Resort RV Park, Reno, Nevada

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Typical casino RV park. Cement pads, landscaping, and short riverwalk nearby. The hotel/casino has shopping, pool, & restaurants. There were many homeless encampments along the river within 50 yards of the park, and we were cautioned to keep our belongings locked up. We camped at Grand Sierra Resort RV Park in a Motorhome.

The wildlife preserve nearby is nice for birdwatching. Visit the Brass Rail for good Basque food. Quaint little town and comfortable RV park for overnight or a few days.

Thousand Trails Snowflower Resort, Emigrant Gap, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

There are no sewer hook-ups and 'honey wagon' is only available on Saturdays. Currently no wood to charcoal fires allowed. Propane stove allowed. Quiet with lake onsite. Great lodge. Boat rentals, playground, and tennis courts. Walking trails. Forest settings with very limited satellite reception. Surprisingly good Verizon cell reception. The roads are mostly dirt, rough, and narrow, some sites are narrow and Unlevel, but we found a large level site with privacy. We camped at Thousand Trails Snowflower Resort in a Motorhome.

Thousand Trails - Oceana RV & Camping Resort, Ocean City, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This park is all about ocean access, with a short trail to the beach. Sites are tight and offer no privacy. Limited sewer hookups. Over half of the spots were closed due to a bridge replacement in process over the creek. No real amenities, no pool or playground. Some sites are so close that slides overlapped. We camped at Thousand Trails - Oceana RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

It's all about the beach. Short trail from park to beach. Fun, cute beach town nearby. Casino not far away. We used this spot to launch day trips to the Olympic peninsula.

Ponderosa RV Resort, Lotus, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $5.00
Overall Rating:

The roads are somewhat improved compared to prior reviews. The main road is good, some roads are gravel, and some are still in need of repair. Roads are somewhat pot-holed and narrow, but we had no issues navigating to our spot.

We like the riverview sites, even though they don't have sewer hook-ups. The sites are along the American river and popular for rafting. A honey wagon is available for $25.

At check in you will need to show registration and proof of insurance. This is a popular spot and the river sites were nearly full in March.

River view spots are close, but we were able to fully extend slides and awning with a little breathing room. It was helpful that park staff allowed us to park our truck in a 'common' area close by. We camped at Ponderosa RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Voyager Resort & RV Park (55+ park), Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2015 - $4.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for a few days while exploring Tucson. The resort is huge, with many park models, seasonal, and transient sites. Spots are gravel, level, and have cement slab and picnic tables. There are three pools, pickle ball, 9 hole golf course, tennis, Jacuzzi, restaurant & bar, spa, and store. There are numerous activities aimed at seasonal visitors, from bike rides to dance classes, art classes and yoga. This is not a camping-like experience - more of a small city for snowbirds. The staff was very friendly and the grounds were immaculate. Great community atmosphere for longer stays. We camped at Voyager Resort & RV Park (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Nice quiet park for an overnight or a short stay. Very clean and friendly. Level gravel pull through sites with nice desert landscaping. Clean laundry. This was a stopover on the 10 on our way to Texas. We camped at LoW-Hi RV Ranch in a Fifth Wheel.
