Cahokia RV Parque, Cahokia, Illinois

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Just a note about this park regarding pull-thru sites. They technically do not have pull-thrus. All the sites are 1/2 of the 90' pull-thru. You can treat it like a pull-thru when pulling in but you really only have half of the 90'. If you want or need more than 45' you'll need to pay for two sites. Needless to say our 45' coach with a bike rack would not fit plus we would have no room for the tow. We camped at Cahokia RV Parque in a Motorhome.

Adirondack Gateway RV Resort, Gansevoort, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

This place shows as "big rig access" but it is marginal. If you have a rig over twelve feet in height you will have an issue. We are at thirteen and had to fight low branches to get to our site. I asked about another site that was in the open and empty but was told it was a seasonal and we were stuck with what we had. Being Labor Day weekend we were forced to take it. When I complained about the untrimmed trees and all the dead branches all I got was blank looks. The clerk assured me that they had "Big Rigs" in that site before. I highly doubt it. We have a forty-five motorhome and barely fit the length of the site. I found out later that the campground is in receivership and is bank owned. The folks that stay here seasonally are aware of the bad management. Wouldn't stay here again. Might be OK for someone with a trailer. We camped at Adirondack Gateway RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, Marshall, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park with one issue. They have a practice of putting the picnic tables in the middle of the site. When you pull in you are forced to move the picnic table. Fortunately there was another camper that helped me. I went to the office and explained that there was a picnic table in the middle of my site and I was told that they do that for a purpose. I told them that is OK but they knew I was coming in and should have sent someone to move it. I got a look of arrogance like I didn't know what I was talking about. I asked "What if I was disabled or had a bad back"? They said that they would come and move the table. Why then did you not take me to the site and move it then. I told them that they were playing with liability and a law suit. Once again I got the arrogant look. Also the pull thru's are not level enough for a motorhome unless you don't mind your front wheels being off the ground. Seems the back ins given to the trailers are much more level. We camped at Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Country Camping Tent & RV Park, Isanti, Minnesota

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Big rig access is doable but it's tight. The road into the park is very rough with many low over hanging trees. There are only a few pull thru sites that can handle a rig over 40'. This park caters more to the weekenders from the city that come to camp in small rigs or tents and enjoy the river. The operators were very accommodating. There were some very low trees blocking our exit path that I brought to the maintenance crews attention. They were trimmed the next day. That also shows that this park does not receive a lot of big rig traffic. For us it was close enough to the city and our relatives for our visit. The few inconveniences are bearable and we would stay here again. We camped at Country Camping Tent & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Peter D's RV Park, Sheridan, Wyoming

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

The turn from the main road on to Joe Street is a little rough for a 45' motorhome so be careful, take it slow. Sites are narrow and could use some fill to smooth them out but are fairly level. Good stop for a night or longer. Owners are vary nice and welcoming. Nice dog park. We would stay here again. We camped at Peter D's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ashley Inn, Tillamook, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Just to make it clear, this park does NOT have full hookups. The sites are electric, water only. They do have a dump station that they proudly ask $25 to use. Big rig access should read "barely" big rig access. A 40' motorhome would have a limited selection of sites to use. We stayed in a 45' motorhome and there was only one site we could squeeze into. It seems like this park was a great thought but was not totally thought through. This would be a great park for a short fifth wheel or travel trailer if you used the restrooms and showers in the hotel. We camped at Ashley Inn in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There is an air museum here which is an old blimp hangar. It's the largest building of it's type in the world. There is also a cheese factory here.
