Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park), Shreveport, Louisiana

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is as nice of a park as you will find. Very friendly and helpful staff. We stayed here for a week while visiting family in Shreveport. Had a nice level paved pull-through site near the front entrance. Even being close to the road, traffic noise was not noticeable. Wi-Fi was a little spotty at times, but served our needs. The cable system has plenty of channels, but the park had good satellite access even with the abundance of trees for shade. The dog park was very nice. Easy access from I-20, but the entrance to the park off of 70th Street can really sneak up on you if you are not watching closely. Plenty of good restaurants in the area, but just to west of the park about a mile on 70th is Jan's River Restaurant which has great catfish. Will be back again when I'm in town. We camped at Shreveport / Bossier City KOA (formerly Tall Pines RV Park) in a Motorhome.

J.B.'s RV Park & Campground, Benton, Arkansas

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good spot for an overnight stay. Interior roads are gravel as are the sites which were fairly level. Picnic table with nice grass area at site. We had a pull through space and getting in and out was a little tight for our length, but we managed. We camped at J.B.'s RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Ladybug RV Park and Campground, Cuba, Missouri

Date of Stay: November, 2012 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Nice campground out in the country, but not far off of the interstate. Very friendly owners. Lots of shade trees, but we were still able to get a good signal with the satellite. Saw some deer in the field at the entrance one evening. We stayed for a week while visiting family in St. James. Sites are gravel and mostly level. There was a picnic table and fire ring at the site along with a nice grass area. A couple of the sites were close to each other, but not so much as to be a problem. This is a great place to stop overnight or for an extended stay. Will definitely stay here again when back in the area. We camped at Ladybug RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rock Island KOA, Rock Island, Illinois

Date of Stay: August, 2011 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Let me start by saying that I normally do not stay at KOA, however this weekend was with my niece and nephew and the kids so I made an exception. The good part was that the showers, restrooms and pool area were very clean and well maintained. The office staff was very friendly and we had an escort to our site. Here begins the bad, the site was VERY narrow. I request another site but was told there were none available, even though I could count over 12 empty spaces (8 of which remained empty the entire weekend). The sewer connection required two full lengths of hose to make the hook-up. I had 2" of clearance for my driver side slide out at the electric meter post. On the passenger side, the slide had about 18" before encroaching on the adjacent site, and we could not open the awning as it would strike the adjoining camper, whose sewer connection was at the bottom my entrance steps. I remember now why I avoid KOA's. For what they charged, I certainly would have expected much better. We camped at Rock Island KOA in a Motorhome.

Friendly front office staff and an escort to site. Sites are level gravel with grass and picnic table. This is my 3rd stay here and it seems that since the other Springfield CG has closed that the price here has gone up. We camped at Double J Campground and RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hinton RV Park, Sikeston, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Return visit on the way north. Friendly staff with escort to site. Sites are level gravel with ample room for any length in the pull-thru. No need to unhook as there was a shuttle to Lambert's for some "throwing rolls" and other good food. Easy on and off access to I-55. Will definitely be back. We camped at Hinton RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sam's Town RV Park , Robinsonville, Mississippi

Date of Stay: April, 2011 - $12.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely a wonderful place to stay. Friendly helpful staff and security. Sites are all concrete. Patio has picnic table and a grill. Lack of trees for shade is a negative, but then this is a casino. I would have given it a 10 except that I had reserved a pull-thru space and when I got there was told they had none available and also that a reservation only guarantees a space, not any particular space (ie pull-thru). They did comp me 2 nights stay for the inconvenience of having to unhook which I felt was fair. I will stay here again on my trip back south. We camped at Sam's Town RV Park in a Motorhome.

Movietown RV Park, Canton, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

First the good things, the girl in the front office was friendly and helpful, the park was convenient to the highway and there were no problems with trees blocking the satellite dish (there are none). This place seems to have been created out of an old pasture with the interior roads and pads of gravel. Drainage must be a problem because there are deep ditches on both sides of the interior roads and through the individual sites (I could barely get in and out of the MH because my steps were directly over the pipe that ran under my site). Next time I'm in the area, I'll look elsewhere. We camped at Movietown RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wonderful setting right on the river. Had a great front row pull-thru site in the south section and spent the day watching the river traffic. Sites are long and level and have plenty of room between. Interior roads are gravel and were a little dusty. The office staff at check-in were very friendly and helpful. Would stay here again. We camped at River View RV Park & Resort in a Motorhome.

This is a wonderful place to stay, from the friendly staff at check-in to the marvelous sites. Sites are level concrete pads with patio with plenty of room, both in length for a pull thru and in the room between sites. Very pleasant and quiet atmosphere. Shuttle to the casino picks you up right at your space. I will stop here again. We camped at Coushatta Casino Resort Red Shoes RV Park in a Motorhome.

Eagle Ridge RV Park, Eagleville, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient access to I-35. The owners live on site and are most accommidating. Interior roads are gravel, and there are some tight turns, but all in all not bad. The sites are all level, and most are very long. I was given an extra long site in the front near the road which could be a problem with the dust from some of the cars going past. Since this is Amish country, the really neat thing about this site was seeing a couple of horse and buggies go by. Will stay again when back in the area. We camped at Eagle Ridge RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis RV Park (CLOSED), South Haven, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to I-35 makes this a good overnight stop. The sites were relatively level and the office staff was very friendly. My only real objection was that the grass areas at my site had several deep holes and made walking around difficult. I paid the Passport America rate. I would stay again when in the area. We camped at Oasis RV Park (CLOSED) in a Motorhome.

Marion Campground & RV Park, Marion, Illinois

Date of Stay: June, 2010 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great overnight stop. It is conveniently located right off the interstate, although it is a little tricky getting back to the CG. Sites are gravel and mostly level with grass and a picnic table. Nicely shaded a large area for pets to exercise. Cable was somewhat limited, but the satellite reception was good. Did not notice any noise from the interstate. Would consider staying again if in the area. We camped at Marion Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.
