Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park, West Yellowstone, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

This is a fabulous RV park. Staff was excellent - friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Conveniently located in town, we could walk in to town whenever we wanted. Incredibly close to the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park. Clean and comfortable! We loved this RV park. We camped at Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Great bike trails right next door at Rendezvous xc ski trails

Great restaurants within easy walking distance

Our kids loved the Yellowstone Adventure Park ropes course and zip lines

Rafted the Gallatin River and rode horseback in Big Sky (ate at River House yum)

Saw as much of Yellowstone as possible in a week (tip: go really early or after lunch to beat the rush)

Great Falls KOA, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $87.00
Overall Rating:

Once I was able to look past our awful site (in the new area of pull-throughs), this park is quite lovely. The service is excellent and there is pride of ownership. Our children (9 through 12) loved the water feature, petting zoo, playground and breakfast, and us adults enjoyed the evening entertainment (River Town Rounders). The owner/operator needs to finish what they started in the new area. It is dusty (and I assume muddy when wet), ugly and full of weeds. If we had not been camping with another family (we just hung out at their site until bedtime) we would not have enjoyed our stay as much. There are several rundown seasonal trailers in this area too. Even if they just laid some turf in between the sites. I can look past the immature trees that haven't had time to grow yet but the foot high weeds were awful. I appreciate that if it weren't for this new pull-through area our trailer would not have fit in this campground.

Positives - free firewood, fantastic (pay) breakfast, fun activities within the campground (loved the live music and u-pick vegetable garden)

Negative - expensive site cost and still charge for pedal go carts. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
