Silver Dollar Casino, Haugan, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Great overnight stop. Plenty of pull through big rig spots, some have power. Weeds and gravel, but level and not bad. Picnic table broke, but it's free here! We camped at Silver Dollar Casino in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Food in lodge was great! Fair price for lots of food. Only $2.75 for domestic, $3.75 craft beer. Mid grade gas $3.25. Awesome gift shop! Not really a casino, only maybe 10 machines. The over 73K dollar coins on the walls, ceiling and bar are really cool, started back in 1952!

O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort, Othello, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park. Mostly level rocks for parking, with nice grassy areas on each side. Plenty of room between sites (although some sites look closer together). Easy to maneuver paved roads. Adult only pool time 6-8PM appreciated. Would return. Down side, tons of "grass gnats" when we arrived, we sprayed and much better. Lake is across the street, we can see a glimpse from our spot. Park has pickle ball. We camped at O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Avoid Road E SE to WA 262 if big and towing, a Doozie of a hill, we chugged up at 8mph, and then flew down. (You shouldn't need this road, but we missed a turn and had to go around the "block" (about 5 miles)). The little store has lots of ice, many quick food selections, including made to order pizza. There is also a restaurant/bar right next store.

Vista Elks Lodge #1968, Vista, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

Really active and fun lodge, great people. Dinner most nights, some lunches, music and dancing couple nights each week. Not a good spot for dogs, just asphalt for them and heed their warning to keep your dogs leashed. They warn of coyotes (which we did hear), but our RV neighbor did not have her little guy leashed and a neighborhood dog came down the hill and attacked it. Be careful with your pets (and little tykes for that matter). That being said, we really enjoyed our stay there and will be back. The grounds around the lodge are very pretty. The spots are tight, but we were fine. We camped at Vista Elks Lodge #1968 in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good location, grill/tap room and Italian restaurant within walking distance, everything else 5-15 min drive. No TV with regular or HD TV antenna, did not try sattelite, WiFi was great. Traffic out front on Vista Wy is bad at commute times, try to avoid. Coin operated washer and dryer on site.

Orange Grove RV Park, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Nice park, loved the smell of the orange trees even though most of the oranges were gone. Pool not heated, so even though it was hot outside, water was too cold. Best park we've been to for dogs - at least 3 dog parks, potty bag stations everywhere, and paths to walk em. Great WiFi. We'll be back. We camped at Orange Grove RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nothing close by (but a fruit depot about a 1/4 mile away which we didn't visit). As others mentioned, Rusty's pizza deliveres to the park and both the pizza (thin crust) and wings (medium and they were spicy) were awesome. Highly recommend both. Park is about 9 miles off Hwy 99, but an easy drive.

Elks Lodge #2492 (Members Only), Simi Valley, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to stay, fun lodge, quiet location. Easy to get to, pretty scenery. No TV at sites (lodge working on their cable hookups), our HD antenna couldn't pull anything in and satellite blocked on our side (neighbor said he got a signal on other side). Excellent Verizon phone and data services. Wifi worked in lodge, but not at our site, they are working on that also. Sites will fit 40' long, but don't think much longer. We camped at Elks Lodge #2492 (Members Only) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Within 45 mins of LA, Venice, Santa Monica, Malibu, and Ventura. Hour to Santa Barbara. Laundry, mail store, 1 restaurant and liquor store around the corner, within walking distance. Room to disconnect toad in parking lot. There is also a big dirt lot for dry camping $10. We had to stay there one night until a spot opened up (only 8 sites and they keep pretty full). Excellent Sunday morning breakfast in the lodge!

Castaic Lake RV Park, Castaic, California

Date of Stay: December, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Mostly all full time customers, only looked like about 15 sites were for travelers. Was OK for our purposes to visit family in Ventura as due to the fires this was the closest we could get. Dog run was awful, but there were a couple OK areas to take the dogs on leashes. Most likely would not go back. Front desk people were very friendly. We camped at Castaic Lake RV Park in a Motorhome.

Pillar Point Harbor RV Park, Half Moon Bay, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

As others state the view is awesome! (We had a full ocean view site.) Water, beach, surf boarders, harbor, boats, birds all part of your view. Sites close, tight turns, but our 38er fit just fine even though we didn't think we'd make it at first. Enough space once set. Good power and hookups, but couldn't get a good wifi connection. Nice mellow beach area, we didn't fish, but lots of others were along the jetties. The flowers and landscaping are very pretty. No amentities at park, but food, music, drinks, supplies within 1 to 2 miles. As no reservations, we just took a chance and headed there on a Sunday and got lucky, do be prepared to be patient as you may have to wait as others get in or out of their spots. No problem, just be aware. Camp host very nice and helpful. We will go back, best view we've had at an RV park. We camped at Pillar Point Harbor RV Park in a Motorhome.

Half Moon Bay RV Park and Campground, Half Moon Bay, California

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $84.00
Overall Rating:

Staff very nice, enjoyed stay. However, pricey, few spots for overnighters, VERY close sites (our 38er almost hit big rig behind us), odd utility placement (even with 2 10' hoses, we had to pull about 15' forward to empty into sewer fixture), dusty (if road through park chip sealed even, would be better), not short walk to ocean if not an avid walker (we walked 1/2 mile and it was still at least 1/2 mile away, never got to see ocean, bring your bike). Great pet park and spots to play for dogs. Fun atmosphere outside around Cameron's. Will go back again because of Cameron's, with realistic expectations of site and distance to ocean. We camped at Half Moon Bay RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Colusa-Sacramento River SRA, Colusa, California

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Cute, quaint, quiet, clean, small park. Only about 15 numbered spots, then a parking lot for another 15 or so rigs. Spots are spacious with nice room in between, lots of grass, nice cement table/benches but no fire ring. No big rigs in numbered spots, maybe in parking lot. No hookups, but running water available. Simple potties, no toilet seats, but clean. Great place to pedal around on your bike. Lots of dog walking occurs around park. We camped at Colusa-Sacramento River SRA in a Truck Camper.

Corning RV Park, Corning, California

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

The owners are very kind and helpful, I felt they went above and beyond to help us with a frustrating situation. They are pet friendly, there is a fenced in off leash area, lots of pretty trees and grass areas, good room between sites, clean and secure bathrooms/showers, free WiFi and fair prices with various discounts available. They have only owned the park for less than a year, and you can tell they have put a lot of hard work into it to be very nice. There are a lot of long term residents, but all sites kept very nice and neat. One possible down fall is you can hear the freeway traffic, but we actually enjoyed it as we live in the country and it was a nice change. I would stay there again, and recommend the park. We camped at Corning RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Almond Tree RV Park, Chico, California

Date of Stay: February, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We could not stay as they said our cabover camper was too old.  It would be useful if either on their website or when you call they stated their age rules as it would have saved us a long trip. There was easy access to the park, it looked very clean, sites were quite close together, very small pool, and no services within walking distance. We camped at Almond Tree RV Park in a Truck Camper.
