Abita Springs RV Resort , Abita Springs, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Another very basic park; typical for Ocean Canyon and Coast to Coast. Gravel roads, a bit tight turns, sandy site (but level). The sites in the electric & water section (FHU was not available for our stay) are VERY cramped. Staff was pleasant. We camped at Abita Springs RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Wolf River Resort, Pass Christian, Mississippi

Date of Stay: March, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

l very basic park. Gravel roads and sites. Basically level; easy to drive unit. There is a swimming pool, we did not use. Limited activities, playground etc. Nice shade over most sites. There are permanent units, but most are in a separate area. WiFi was supposedly available, but we could rarely login {as is typical of nearly all RV parks}. We camped at Wolf River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Only about 5 miles (10 minutes) to the gulf beaches. From there US 90 goes east and west and offers beach scenery plus several communities. The Audubon Center in d'Iberville is worth a visit, particularly the McCoy Swamp tour.

Red Gate Campground & RV Resort, Savannah, Georgia

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access to historic Savannah: tour trolley comes right to park. Grass sites, no concrete. Basically level although we did use a bit of block on one side. WiFi only in office (although they claim to cover the entire park). Nice staff. Not sure I am remembering the fee correctly. We camped at Red Gate Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Paved, narrow roads, a bit tight turning but doable. Sites are grass/sand, ours required a bit of lift to level our unit. Staff was fairly friendly after she got to know us. Large pool, although we did not use. Several activities. We camped at Bee's RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Paved roads. Sites are grass/sand, level, some with paved patio and table. No shade. Staff was friendly and helpful. We did not use the pool. The WiFi actually worked! As all of you know most RV parks advertise WiFi but do not deliver; we were very pleased with this park's WiFi. We camped at Southern Oaks RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Styx River Resort, Robertsdale, Alabama

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is an Ocean Canyon Properties [OCP] park; we are members so the stay was "free" with our membership. We have been disappointed in the quality of OCP parks---this is by far the best we have stayed in. Negatives: rough roads, landscaping not maintained, no grass. Positives: level sites (nearly all gravel), beautiful setting on the Styx River, facilities are clean & staff is helpful and friendly. We camped at Styx River Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A very basic park but the staff is excellent: helpful and friendly. Sites are gravel, with grass. Sites are level. Absolutely the best WiFi we have had at any RV park! This park is located on a main thoroughfare to the Santa Fe Plaza, so easy access to history, museums, restaurants etc.

Santa Fe is a great city in and of itself: history, museums, shopping for native jewelry & pottery etc. Restaurants are great.
In addition there are several pueblos in the area as well as National Monuments: Bandelier, Pecos & Tent Rocks are all good.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Staff here is great. The club room is adequate although we did not participate. Bathrooms etc are clean. Site are gravel and level. The WiFi is very poor. The only real disadvantage this park is on the Western edge of ABQ and is subject to wind--we sat through a very nasty wind storm which translates as dusty and lots of tumbleweeds!
Park provides easy access to ABQ. We camped at Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

ABQ has a good zoo & aquarium. The botanical garden was disappointing but we were there in March so it could have been the season that was the issue.

Old Town is interesting, although primarily for jewelry shopping. There is a bit of history, good restaurants and some art gallerias.

White Sands Community RV & Manufactured Home Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

PROs: This is an all paved park....no grass etc. Therefore very clean. CONs: The sites are very narrow and very short. I circled back and made it on my second try. There was not adequate space to park our pickup. As mentioned the sewer connection is in the very back of the site and would require about 30 feet of hose. I talked to the front desk and she said no one had every complained, but based on other reviews I think others have complained. I got a refund. We camped at White Sands Community RV & Manufactured Home Park in a Fifth Wheel.

As is typical for SW parks, this is gravel. The sites are very spacious and level. We were able to park our pickup beside our 5th. The staff were all great. This park is several miles north of Alamogordo so a bit inconvenient to grocery shop, drive to White Sands etc., but worth it.
TV was strong with antenna. WiFi was fair. We camped at Boot Hill RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
