Big Bear Campground & RV Park, Palmer, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Our site was a pull through with 50 amp. We were in site #15 which was close to the road. I found the traffic noise sometimes bothersome late at night or early in the morning. There are pull through on the other side of the park if you can get them. Sites were big enough so I didn't feel like we were stacked on each other. We camped at Big Bear Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park, Trapper Creek, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here for 5 nights to visit Talkeenta. Our site was full hookups. Site was shared by shrubs and trees which provided extra coverage from the Alaska midnight sun. That was a nice bonus. Laundry room was clean and easy to access. Store had coffee, milkshakes and other food to eat. Gas was reasonable priced. We camped at Trapper Creek Inn & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned), Denali National Park, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This the best RV park in the area. However, Sites are tight and parking of truck or tow vehicle is a challenge. Hookups are well placed. Cable is ok-- sometimes we lost channels. WiFi worked well and is an unsecured connection. Staff is helpful and gift shop has a good selection. Laundry room is clean but pricey ($4.00) per load. We camped at Denali RV Park & Motel (Privately Owned) in a Fifth Wheel.

Fas Gas RV Park, Haines Junction, Yukon

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small RV park located next to the gas station. We had a pull thru with 30 amp and water. Sewer wasn't available because of frozen lines, blockage, not sure. But they were working on the problem. There is a store, The Little Green Apple, next to gas station. Good selection of food including produce and fresh bread every day. We camped at Fas Gas RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Haines Hitch-Up RV Park, Haines, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 12 nights to explore Haines. So glad we did! The park is conveniently located at the edge of town so walking is very easy. The sites are on grass and long and wide enough to fit our 41' and truck. Park is lush and filled with flowers. A nice treat after plenty of gravel and dirt parks. The views from the mountains are amazing. Never got old! Laundry room is very clean with good machines. Wash is $3 US and dryer is 25 cents for 3 minutes. Gift store in office has a nice variety of gifts some priced less than the stores in town. Wish we could have cleaned our trailer windows but they don't allow wiping off your trailer. Staff is friendly and attentive. We camped at Haines Hitch-Up RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

So much to do while in Haines! Rafting thru bald eagle preserves, fishing in Lynn Canal, drive to Chilkoot Lake (about 9 miles away), hike to Battery Point in Chilkat State Park. There is a good distillery in town, Port Chilkoot Distillery, and the Haines Brewing Company. Several good grocery stores. The barge comes in on Tuesday so shopping on Wednesday and Thursday are best. Fireweed Restaurant and Alpenglow (new) were both delicious and good service.

Hi Country RV Park, Whitehorse, Yukon

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived early in the season so it was comfortable and not crowded. Had a bit of a challenge finding a site where all our slideouts didn't interfer with the trees. Cable was so-so. Some channels would freeze up and couldn't be viewed. Didn't try the WiFi. Water pressure was ok. Staff is very helpful and willing to assist with your adventures. We camped at Hi Country RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tags Gas, Food, and RV Park, Watson Lake, Yukon

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

It's still early in the season so not every thing is working well. RV park is located in a large gravel lot behind the gas station and store. Water and sewer weren't working when we were here so only had electrical 30 amp. Also no WiFi or cable. If you have two larger rigs parked next to each other I'm not sure both would be able to open their slides. Luckily the 3 RVers here could spread out a bit. Otherwise it might be a tight squeeze. Walked across the street to Signpost Forest and Information Center. Good for a one night stay. We camped at Tags Gas, Food, and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Toad River Lodge & RV Park, Toad River, British Columbia

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Early in the season so very few people at the park. We have full hookups 30 amp, water and sewer. Easy to pull into site. When it became windy it was very dusty throughout park. It was fine for a one or two night stay. Can purchase gas at the restaurant. We camped at Toad River Lodge & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Kokanee Bay Motel, Cabins & Campground, Lac La Hache, British Columbia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

It was early in the season so there weren't any other campers. Full hookups but no cable. There is a beautiful lake to sit at and enjoy the birds and watch the fishing. The owners are very pleasant and were pleased to have us there. We only stayed one night. Be aware the campground is next to the Cariboo Hwy so it can be noisy when the big trucks roll through. We camped at Kokanee Bay Motel, Cabins & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Silver Spur RV Park, Silverton, Oregon

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed four nights and found the park to be very pleasant. Hookups were well placed. Our 41' trailer fit easily in the site with plenty of room for our truck. The park is very well maintained. There is noise from the road but most of the time we didn't notice it. The town is a very short drive away. We would definitely stay again. We camped at Silver Spur RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lamplighter Campground, Revelstoke, British Columbia

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

We had a very pleasant stay during our week stay. We had a pull through for our 41' foot 5th wheel. Full hookups with cable. WiFi worked very well, even when the park filled up in the evenings. Laundry room had two washers and two dryers. Both worked very well. New owners who are very customer oriented. About one mile walking distance to downtown grocery store, bakery and restaurants. The train trestle is close by but after a day we were accustomed to it. Would most definitely stay again. We camped at Lamplighter Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada), Jasper National Park, Alberta

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

If you're looking for a woodsy outdoor experience, Whistler is the place. We had 30 amp with electric and sewer. No cable or antenna service but that was just fine for us. For larger rigs, select your site in the website map, as some spots might be difficult to manuveur into otherwise. It was so quiet and peaceful. If you want to stay awhile book your site when reservations begin in January. We camped at Whistlers Campground (Parks Canada) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Best grocery shopping we found was at AG Robinson's. Good selection of meats and produce. Maligne boat tour was worth the money to see the other side of the lake and the glaciers that feed it. The laundromat in town that is partnered with the Snow Dome coffee bar on Patricia Street is the best place. Machines are top notch and very efficient.

Red Trail Campground, Medora, North Dakota

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We just arrived and it's already bad. The woman in the office is grumpy, loud and talks over you. I asked her why she was yelling and she said that's the way she talks! She demands that you put your name and home address on the blue slip that goes in your vehicle window. I've never had to do that before! And we travel alot! I noticed that there are several other recent reviews that mention the same poor customer service. If you request a pull through, don't expect to get it. They only have 4 that they reserve the buses with trailers attached. Medora has so much to offer for visitors. Our plan is to be gone as much as possible and hide in our trailer until we move on. Too bad our first greeting in town was so poor and unpleasant. Would never ever stay here again!!! We camped at Red Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
