Big Chief RV Park, Coffeyville, Kansas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We've been here about 4 months now and I have to say we really enjoy it. Here you have more space and I don't feel like they are just waiting for us to do something wrong. The internet works great most of the time. We have a smart TV and are able watch Netflix and Hulu. We were worried about staying here because everyone said it flooded so bad but I've yet to see the swampy mess everyone has described. Sure there is mud but you are in gravel and grass what do you expect? Our driveway and yard at home are worse than it is here. We did have a hard time finding it at first as our GPS took us 4 miles past it. The easiest way to get here from Coffeyville is to take the first right after the Walmart exit onto the industrial road. The price is good and it's nice not having to pay for the first 500kwh every month. The managers from the previous reviews are also not here anymore. The two couples that have run the place since we've been here are nice and have done everything they could to help us enjoy staying here. If we come back to this area in the future we will definitely stay here. And they are also pet friendly which is a huge plus for us! We camped at Big Chief RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

USI RV Park, Wichita, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

It's a well kept park and we were lucky enough to have a tree where we parked. We were told by the manager that they had a fenced in dog area and it was on the map they gave us. All they have up are 4 fence posts with no fence and it had been that way for months. You couldn't take your dog off its leash to let it run or be tied outside alone. I had my dog on a very short leash tied to my steps I went inside to grab something and no sooner than I stepped through the door which was left open I heard a banging on the side of my trailer. It was the grounds keeper telling me I was breaking the rules. The laundry room was nice but the change machine wouldn't except money so you had to go to the office for quarters. The camp hosts that were there were really nice and I enjoyed talking to them. The park is in a nice area off by itself but close to stores and restaurants. We would probably stay here again. We camped at USI RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Eastlake RV Resort, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here from the end of April to of July 2014. I wish we could go back we were spoiled with amenities. The pool was heated when we were there and the hot tub always hot. We also used the outdoor cook stations a few times and they were always clean. The construction was also finished when we got there so we never experienced power outages and no water. I loved that we had cable so we didn't have to buy a dish. A good selection of channels too around 65ish I think it was. They do have a little workout area and pool table. And during the day in the lounge was free popcorn all day everyday. The laundry room was nice too with front loaders. While at the time we thought rent was so expensive after leaving we realized you get what you pay for. Although I did have a lot of people tell me their rent was randomly increased or the electric bill was sky high. We never had any problems. I didn't particularly like the managers at first but after awhile they weren't so bad. They enforce their rules there though and we saw a few people get kicked out for being too rowdy. Someone said don't expect to meet people and socialize with anyone that couldn't be further from the truth. I met two of my good friends there. And we cooked out with our neighbors frequently after just introducing ourselves. We would stay here again if given the opportunity. Also we liked the fact that it was gated I always felt safe if I was outside at night alone. If you stay in a back in site around the outside by the fence its cheaper than the pull through and back ins by the pond. We camped at Eastlake RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Buckeye RV Park, Coffeyville, Kansas

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I'll start by saying this is a nice park but it wasn't for us. First thing that got to me was when I asked them if pets were allowed they asked what kind which was fine. But then when I said black lab they paused and said I guess it will be OK. Second thing was when you they give you the rule sheet and it says no streaming videos allowed. And they can check your history of what you've been doing and will be charged. You also get charged for having too many devices connected to the internet. The internet was good at first but into our month stay it went downhill. The sites are pretty close together. They also say it doesn't flood but our "front yard" was a miniature pond when it rained. The lady in the office acted like you were bothering her every time you went in there. And if you plan on doing laundry or using the bathroom you have to pay $10 to get a key because they always keep it locked. Which, when you check out they refund your money as long as you return the key. Like I said its a nice quiet park but it wasn't for us. We camped at Buckeye RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
