Matanuska River Park, Palmer, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a county park with 2 areas. The upper has 30 amp electric and the lower is for dry camping in the trees. They have a sign posted warning that the lower area does not fit units over 30 feet which is true. There is a dump station, potable water in the park. Several walking trails are in the park, a bike park, and play area for children. Nice clean park, but it will take some blocks in most sites to get close to level. All of the upper 30 amp sites are back in, sites are tight with a large picnic table at each site. Upper level roads are paved. We camped at Matanuska River Park in a Truck Camper.

Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground, Palmer, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in here for an overnight stay. The owner took us around in a Golf cart to show us the available sites we could choose from. She only offers a discount of $3.00 if you ask. Many campers in full hook up sites are long term. They also have a restaurant on site which we did not try. Our site on the hill had great views of the surrounding area and mountains. There is 1 shower, 1 toilet, and a single washer and dryer. Sites are tight but we have seen much closer in Alaska. We camped at Fox Run Lodge and RV Campground in a Truck Camper.

Tok RV Village, Tok, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

We stopped here after doing the Top of the World highway and Taylor highway to take some rest time. The check in was quick. This is right on the highway coming into Tok. The RV wash area is paid for when you check in based on vehicle size. We paid $10.00 to wash our Truck camper. There are brushes and buckets there but you have to provide your own soap. The showers and restrooms were great and clean. We could not get on the campground WiFi and the Verizon signal was very weak. The restaurant next door was very good. There is a paved path across the road that runs into Tok and can be used to walk to the visitor center. We camped at Tok RV Village in a Truck Camper.

Willow Creek Resort, Willow, Alaska

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in here to be able to use the facilities after dry camping for several days. As others have stated the park is River rock except for a small area. There were a lot of people launching boats from the "beach" area to fish the river. In front of the campground it is catch and release only. The river has been declared closed for king salmon this year. The owner was very pleasant. There are very few sites with sewer hook up and they are $50.00 per night. We had water and electric. The Wifi was very strong on our site. Although the bathrooms were clean we had to take cold showers when we went to use them at 7:00 pm. This is like many of the Alaska campground overpriced for what they offer. We camped at Willow Creek Resort in a Truck Camper.

Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost, Chicken, Alaska

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was just an overnight stop. Water and 20 amp electric. The restrooms are outhouses that you could hardly breathe in. The store is very unique with lots of souvenirs. This is very overpriced for what you get. The showers are pay showers. There is no phone or internet here. We camped at Chicken Gold Camp and Outpost in a Truck Camper.

Thunder Bay Golf & RV Resort, Hillman, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice park in North east Michigan and sits on a beautiful golf course. We were just driving through the area when our GPS told us it was a passport America park. The check in was very quick and getting tinto our site was easy. The camp host came and told us if we needed anything to let him know. We camped at Thunder Bay Golf & RV Resort in a Truck Camper.

Kritter's Northcountry Campground and Cabins, Newberry, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed for an ovenight here. There were several families here and quite a few kids that were well behaved. The sites are very uneven and take some work to get level. Good stop over if visiting the upper peninsula. Even though quite a bit of rain had came down the ground was still firm to drive on. We camped at Kritter's Northcountry Campground and Cabins in a Truck Camper.

Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery, Germfask, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

WE enjoy staying at this park when passing through the area. Seney Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a neat place to visit. The campground also offers Canoe and Kayak trips on the river that flows by it. The only negative this year was the work on the highway that goes by it. It is very quiet and we had great reception on our Dish satellite. We camped at Big Cedar Campground and Canoe Livery in a Truck Camper.

Wilson State Park, Harrison, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Wilson State park is right on Budd Lake and is very popular. There are quite a few people who come to the lake for the day. The camp was very full when we were there. It is right in the village of Harrison so if you need anything there are stores near by. Although the camp was full it was quiet. Dump station in the park. We camped at Wilson State Park in a Truck Camper.

Lake Michigan at St. Ignace (NFS), Moran, Michigan

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $9.00
Overall Rating:

The restrooms are vault toilets. The camp hosts were very helpfull for finding a site as we did not have reservations. This campground is right on US-2 so with most sites you will have traffic noise. It is also right on Lake Michigan so except you have to go over the sand dunes to reach the beach. We spent an overnight here. We camped at Lake Michigan at St. Ignace (NFS) in a Truck Camper.

The Campus RV Park, Independence, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 2 nights. It is a small park near the sights in Independence. Most all of the sights are back in and on concrete, they all look level as our was. There is great hook ups here. Even though you have to drive the city streets to get here it is easy by following the directions on their web site. We received several TV stations over the air as there is no cable available. Satellite also worked well as our site had a clear view but the low number sites on the south end will probably have tree interference. If you are coming for the historical sites this is a great park to work from. We camped at The Campus RV Park in a Truck Camper.

Lazy Day Campground, Danville, Missouri

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We pulled in here for an overnight stay and it is a very clean campground as the owners are right here and run everything that goes on. There are rules but if you are conscientious of what you do there will be not problem. They are very friendly here with a well kept campground and all building are clean. In 2001 after 9/11 they started having people sign the wall of the main building and after all these years they have had to redo some of the siding of the building. We enjoyed our stay here and would stop again. I had no problem driving through the campground but can see that it would be a challenge for some of the turns with a big unit. We camped at Lazy Day Campground in a Truck Camper.

Casey KOA, Casey, Illinois

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a great stop and a great park. We pulled in at noon and they set us up with a site for the night. They made sure we got into our site and the hook ups were working. The owners are great people and very friendly. The free pop corn for the movie night was great. There is a free fishing lake on the grounds that do not require a license to fish. The sites are level with gravel. Even with the expressway close there is very little noise from it. We will stop here again on our way through the area. We camped at Casey KOA in a Truck Camper.

Peaceful Waters Campground, Rockville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $24.00
Overall Rating:

We were in site 22. The restrooms are a long way from the back sites where we stayed. The electric hook-ups are on the wrong side of the site for RV's, which I do not understand why. In the sites up front they are in the middle of the pad area???? This worked but in the future in the area I will look for another place. All sites are gravel and not quite level. We camped at Peaceful Waters Campground in a Truck Camper.

Seasons in the Sun RV Resort, Mims, Florida

Date of Stay: January, 2016 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here to explore the space center and coast. The rate is passport america. Our site was very good back in with plenty of area for our truck and our sons car while visiting us. The hook ups were very good and worked well. The staff works hard to keep the grounds clean. We would stay here again if passing through the area as it is easy access to I95.
