St Paul East RV Park (closed), Woodbury, Minnesota

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Well laid out park, mostly gravel and gravel sites. Somewhat close to each other, but have stayed in worse. Extremely quiet place with almost no interaction with other campers. We had feeling that most commuted during weekend. Never talked to anyone nor had anyone walk by. We stayed 3 days and nights and enjoyed the sights of Minneapolis and other communities. Pleasant place but no character. Silly way to provide security into park after hours with need to get out of car and open manual gate lock. With hours 6 am to 6 pm it was somewhat of a hassle. Get a pass-key or something. We camped at St Paul East RV Park (closed) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Patio was damaged and concrete was broken-damaged. Could be hazardous if not careful. Best way to spend a day is going to Stillwater, MN. Just a great place to casually wander through antique shops, food, ice cream, gift and art gallery, and pubs of all sizes and shapes.

The trolley tour of town is worth the time and money. Also the noon tour and lunch of the harbor with a paddle wheel boat. I'd go again it was so pleasant and entertaining.

Indian Lake State Park, Manistique, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Very close sites especially drive throughs. We could almost touch neighbors. NO Tv. 1st time I ever that happen. No Wifi despite there advertising it. We were next to office too. It wasn't dirty, but it was dusty with traffic and little or no grass, just dirt site. It might not be bad for overnight stay, but you could probably get better camping experience by staying a State or State Forest campground. We camped at Indian Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

the "Resort" featured utilities in strange situation. The electric was in standard drivers side position, but the sewer and water were on opposite side (starboard) side. We didn't need sewer so we didn't hook up. I would go to State campground next time.

Tifton KOA, Tifton, Georgia

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Common. Close sites, but adequate. Didn't seem to be well kept. Not many pads and we had none. Gravel site slightly slanting. Not bad for one nighters, but wouldn't want to stay for over 2-3 days. We camped at Tifton KOA in a Motorhome.

Silver Palms RV Resort, Okeechobee, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This could be a great RV resort. Terrible WiFi and no cable. We could get better WiFi in Walmart parking lot or about anyplace other than park. Who has heard of good RV place that doesn't have cable? The local TV stations bounced in and out and this was during NCAA basketball finals. Couldn't watch almost any morning Network news programs. Good tennis, pool, and other activities. Many special interest groups (French Canadians) that couldn't speak English that were hard to meet or socialize with. Administration needs to work on this aspect. Really liked people we did meet. One has to travel 40 plus miles to find interesting towns or shopping. The campsites were lovely and no feeling of crowding. Lots of great landscaping. First class looks and feel. Clean and a feeling that these people care a lot. Country club atmosphere except for communications and technical aspect. I'd not return unless these items are attended to. We camped at Silver Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Not much in way of local history, culture or shopping, restaurants or specialty stores except for Walmart type stores. If you leave the park, there is almost nothing. Have to drive 40-60 miles to either coast. That's not really that bad, but the local (25 miles) is mainly farming, not that that's bad. No history or cultural things to do.
