Cherry Hill Camping Resort, Fruit Heights, Utah

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

We have been staying at this campground for 37 years. It has a great waterpark for the family. In the 37 years, no improvements have been made to the back restroom where the small camper/tent area is located. The cleanliness is always sketchy in the bathroom. The front bathroom that accommodates larger RVs and the waterpark is better. The property is beautiful...many cherry and apple trees. However, the sites are extremely narrow, grass/gravel combinations with old picnic tables. The grounds are groomed, but everything is bare-essentials maintained. Staff is sometimes friendly, sometimes rude...all young adults. We continue staying because of the ideal location and the beauty of the mountains nearby. We camped at Cherry Hill Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is a Mormon-owned RV park. They highly promote the LDS Church. However, there are also Catholic and other churches in the area. Close to Legacy Parkway, a 55-mph road that leads to I-15 and other interstates - Legacy Parkway is a very nice, leisurely route to downtown Salt Lake City.

Packwood RV Park and Campground, Packwood, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

There are no frills in this campground. It was our only choice or we probably wouldn't have stayed here. Luckily we didn't have to use any of their facilities. The campsites were spacious but unlevel and of dirt/grass. Because it was early in the season, we had the place to ourselves; but if it were crowded, it would have been an unpleasant place. The sites looked like they were placed very randomly. The price was good. We camped at Packwood RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We stayed here because we wanted to see Mt. Rainier National Park. It was about a 45 minute drive to the park entrance on very rugged roads. The park itself is beautiful and worth the visit.

Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA, Port Angeles, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at a deluxe site that was paved, but all sites were spacious and well-groomed. They are completely upgrading this campground with new electric and sewers, and the picnic tables and fire pits are new. It is a lovely setting with a backdrop of beautiful mountains. It's close to Sequim, Port Angeles, Olympic National Park and the ferry to BC. Our companion stayed in a rustic cabin, which was very nice. We used the laundry facility which was clean, reasonably priced, and open 24 hours. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. We camped at Olympic Peninsula / Port Angeles KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Olympic National Park is breathtaking. It is very spread out. We stayed at this campground for 5 nights and barely had time to see it all. One full day we took the ferry over to Victoria, BC as foot passengers. We could have stayed in Victoria an extra day. The ferry ride is 1 1/2 hrs one way. The first ferry is at 8:30 a.m. and last ferry back is at 7:30 p.m., so it doesn't leave much time to sightsee while you're there. Washington is a beautiful state.

Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA, Laughlin, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We have been here for almost two weeks and are enjoying it. The grounds are well maintained - we observe the grounds people cleaning up dead leaves and debris every day, the laundry room is clean and reasonably priced, the sites are spacious. We're paying $5.00 extra per night for an extra-wide spot, because we like its location, right next to a designated wetlands area. The pool at the casino is beautiful and just the perfect little walk from the campground. We came for the pool, not to gamble. We checked out a couple of other pools in the area, and none compare. Personnel are extremely nice. Everything we could possibly need - restaurants, grocery stores, etc. - are all within a couple of miles. We'll definitely come back. We camped at Laughlin / Avi Casino KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Oatman, AZ is only 30 miles. Very unique must-see between here and Kingman, as well as a beautiful drive. Wild burros roam the streets of this little tourist town.

Keyhole State Park, Moorcroft, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $8.00
Overall Rating:

The Park is beautifully maintained. There is a dump station with drinkable water access at the entrance. The sites are large. There is a loop of the Park with electric/water hookups, although we dry camped. There are several loops to choose from, all very different from each other. It is only 20 miles from Devils Tower. We camped at Keyhole State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Devils Tower is a must-see nearby with a handicap walking trail all the way around which takes about an hour to walk. Keyhole State Park also has an extensive concrete bike/walking trail - very nice.

Santa Fe KOA, Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Have been staying at this park for almost 20 years and love it. Small, quiet, clean, perfect distance from Santa Fe, reasonably priced. Wouldn't consider any other parks in the area. Takes us 25 minutes to reach the Plaza down Old Las Vegas Rd. - very little traffic. Park close to I-25 but don't have to go on interstate unless we want to. Beautiful pinion pines define each site. We camped at Santa Fe KOA in a Travel Trailer.
