Lake Arrowhead State Park, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

One of the better Texas State Parks we've stayed at. Staff was great. Very level, well spaced sites, good 50 amp power and water. No sewer, but a dump station. Lots of cute prairie dogs. Wichita Falls is a short distance away. We camped at Lake Arrowhead State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort, Wichita Falls, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $61.00
Overall Rating:

Coyote Ranch would be a very good park at half the price. Overall, the facilities were very good, but we've found better for much less money. Bathhouses and laundry were clean. Wi-Fi was painfully difficult to log onto and slow when you finally got logged on. Cable at our site did not work, and even if it had, there were not a lot of channels on it. About 100 feet of the entrance road was torn-up, perhaps from recent rain, otherwise interior road were asphalt. Pads were concrete, a few with concrete patios. Management officiously enforced rules, even those not written down. Overall a nice park, but believe we'll save our money and go elsewhere next time we're in the area. We camped at Jellystone Park at Coyote Ranch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Oak Creek RV Park, Weatherford, Texas

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, there can be some noise from the interstate, but Oak Creek is very convenient to the interstate. Cable was so-so. Park is clean, neat and actually pretty with (trimmed) trees and a creek that runs through the center of the park. Facilities, spacious club house, bathrooms, laundry room, swimming pool, etc., were always clean. Parking is on concrete pads with concrete patios and for a commercial park reasonably far apart. Interior roads are concrete, and there is plenty of well maintained grass. One of the best commercial parks we've stayed at. Would definitely stay at Oak Creek again. We camped at Oak Creek RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lots of shopping, including a very good farmers' market, is a short 10 mile trip to Weatherford.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed one night. Convenient to interstate but no noise. Park was full. Recommend reservations. Facilities somewhat dated but clean. Others have made accurate comments on roads, sites etc. Friendly accommodating staff. The park has on-site dining that is reasonably priced and quite good. Not a bad place to stay when considering other parks in Fort Stockton but somewhat expensive for what you get. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Marathon Motel and RV Park, Marathon, Texas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Probably best place to stay in the area. Easy to get to Big Bend. Excellent WiFi. Very clean. Owner lives on site and is present. Beautiful courtyard with local entertainment many nights around a campfire. Would get higher rating except parking is gravel, which is not dusty and only a problem when it rarely rains. Sites are large pull-throughs. We stayed 6 nights and would return to this park. We camped at Marathon Motel and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
