Huntington Beach State Park, Murrells Inlet, South Carolina

Date of Stay: July, 2008 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

Great park. A beach that is not as crowded as beaches in the area. Alligators are around as well as other wildlife. (Don't leave the Garbage cans out). The bugs were a little intense and would recommend that anyone camping here in the warm months take a screen room. Walk to the beach is better on the boardwalk than the other path. (recommend a beach cart) We camped at Huntington Beach State Park in a Motorhome.

Great place to stay as an alternative to boon docking. Clean and quite. Right off the interstate. Beautiful and quite. This will be a definite stop of ours in the future on the way to the beach. We camped at Lee State Park in a Motorhome.

Bandits Roost COE, Wilkesboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: April, 2007 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a good Park, New Construction abounds. The shower house is not within walking distance. Staff is friendly and sites are large. Of the three campgrounds that I have seen on this lake this is ranked #2. If you have children camping with you you may want to stay at Bandit's Roost. Camp roads need work. Dump station is very clean. We camped at Bandits Roost COE in a Motorhome.

Bear Den Campground, Spruce Pine, North Carolina

Date of Stay: November, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Overall a good campground. Secluded but close to town (just in case you forget something) We were a little concerned about the drive so we went to Blowing Rock and drove down the Blue Ridge Parkway this was worth the extra few miles, the views were great. As for the campground, the staff was very helpful. The sites could be better leveled but they are not bad enough to worry about just make sure you take your leveling blocks. The sites are arranged well and very pretty. Some sites the water more than 25 feet away so take an extra hose. We used the Motorhome showers and restrooms but the restrooms at the campground were OK. Plenty of hiking and chances to take mountain view photos. This will be a standard site for us. We camped at Bear Den Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice campground. Sites were small but situated so that you were not looking in the window of the next door camper. Staff was helpful and friendly. If you take kids make sure you take them something to play with. Overall good experience. We will return. We camped at Mama Gertie's Hideaway Campground in a Motorhome.

Bandits Roost COE, Wilkesboro, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2006 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Very pretty. Lots of trees and well designed park. We have camped at other COE parks in the south. This is one of the best. We will stay there again soon. If you want more privacy, pick Loop B. There will be a short walk to the water (Hilly) but worth it. We camped at Bandits Roost COE in a Motorhome.
