Redding RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This park is easily accessible to the I-5 and convenient to stores, etc. Easy access to town as well. The WIFI is the best we've had since beginning our full-time adventure. The park is on a hill but our space was level and easy in/0ut. Our only complaint was how the sewers are arranged. Your neighbor's sewer is right next to where you would sit outside and spaces are very close together. You get a lot of exhaust when motorhomes come and go - we had to go inside at one point as a neighbor left his motorhome running for more than 15 minutes. Staff couldn't be nicer! We camped at Redding RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Ventura Ranch KOA, Santa Paula, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here before and loved it but this time they were booked pretty solid so we ended up in the "Alder" area above the park. Can't really say this is a space although it has water, cable, sewer and electric but they're not "together" so we really had to do creative wiring for the cable. It's up a VERY steep hill with no real turnaround unless you back up; not fun with a 33' trailer. Everything worked well but not very "scenic" as it's literally on a road to the clubhouse/shower so fair amount of auto & pedestrian traffic. Very busy park with lots of activities for kids; weekends are crowded. We would stay again but will book farther in advance and avoid weekends. Love the peacocks! We camped at Ventura Ranch KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sun & Fun RV Park, Tulare, California

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

We found this park thanks to Passport America and our first impression was great thanks to the very friendly and efficient property manager who checked us in. Not a big park and a lot of permanent folks but clean and tidy. Unfortunately our space was not wide enough for us to bring our 3 slides all the way out - there are only 3 pull-thrus and one was being repaired. The only criticism was the noise - we woke up to a cement truck pouring cement in the space being repaired at 5:15 a.m. - just before that the sound of a power saw. The first night we heard one train; no big deal since you are just a few feet from the tracks, but the second night 5 trains with whistles went by. And then there was the cattle truck full of mooing cows that parked on the other side of the wall - the last two items of course the park has no control over. It's pretty convenient to Sequoia & Kings Canyon - we would stay again We camped at Sun & Fun RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Orangeland RV Park, Orange, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $77.00
Overall Rating:

There aren't many nice parks near Disneyland so we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and location of this park. Of course the price was more than we normally pay but considering it was a nice park we justified it. Spots are level and not too close with picnic tables and most have shade. Wifi worked great but you have to get a box for the cable TV which we weren't told until we couldn't get the TV to work. The location is within walking distance of Honda Arena, not too far from Angel's Stadium and close to metrolink station. Lots of shopping & restaurants nearby. There's also a shuttle to Disneyland for only $3 per person. It was on time although a little TLC for the bus was in order. Probably only real complaint was the noise - there are quite a few permanent people in the park and some own loud motorcycles who go to work at 7 a.m. and we weren't too far from the pool which can be loud when kids are present. We would stay again and recommend. We camped at Orangeland RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Hidden Beaches River Resort, Blythe, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

We needed a one-night stay on our way back to SoCal and decided to use our new Passport America discount at this park. The positive part of our stay was the wifi worked well. It goes downhill from there. It is at least 10 miles to the freeway in the middle of nowhere. Rough road, uneven sites which are not marked very well. The Passport America was only good on the full hookups and the pull-throughs were not full hookups. The desk person said we could take up two spots so we didn't have to unhook. There are mostly permanent units; more than half look like they've been there for many years. It's a code enforcement nightmare! Many units are parked willy-nilly with ATV's, boats and all kinds of stuff under tarps. We went to bed at 10 p.m hearing some music a few spots away. We were awakened at 1:30 a.m. when that music was turned up and we could hear a party going on. No security on site we discovered. My husband finally went and asked them to turn it down. We didn't feel at all safe in this place. We camped at Hidden Beaches River Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tucson / Lazydays KOA, Tucson, Arizona

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park, well-kept with large level sites. We had table & chairs plus a patch of grass and surrounding by hedges for privacy. The wifi worked really well. The staff was friendly. It's in a good location convenient to the freeway but no noise. The only "noise" were the jets from Davis-Monthan which were very cool to watch. The only negatives were the smoking and laundry room. The laundry room had about 12 washers; 4 of which were out of order and the others were taken up by people who hadn't retrieved their laundry after more than 3 hours. We had to remove the wet stuff to use the washers as did other people. They have a great system where you can use a credit card to start the machines and if you enter your cell number it will send you a text when the machine is done! Although there is supposed to be no smoking by the pool employees came out to the area to smoke. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Tucson / Lazydays KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Canyon Railway RV Park, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean park and well-taken care of. Staff is friendly & helpful. Our site was level and easy to back into. We were a bit concerned because a railroad track was about 15 feet from our site but in 3 days we only had 3 trains and never at night. They did shake up our cats though! You get a key card and can use the pool/spa at the hotel as well as using for the shower & laundry. Easy to get in and around with our 33' trailer and very convenient to town - within walking distance. We couldn't get the wifi to work but maybe not close to a tower? We camped at Grand Canyon Railway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Wahweap RV and Campground, Page, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very clean campground with large level spaces - nearest neighbor is at least 15 feet away or more. Gorgeous views! They have a store with basic needs and showers are very powerful although they charge $2 for 15 minutes. The wifi is virtually non-existent but we got usable signal from AT&T hot spot. Convenient to town and tours; not far from the dam - boat launches and rentals within walking distance. Easy to manipulate through the park. We camped at Wahweap RV and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Goulding's Lodge & Campground, Monument Valley, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in since going full-time 3 years ago. Paved roads, a bit narrow if you have a big rig, but not too difficult. Everything is clean and tidy with gravel sites that were level. Some spaces have a better view than others so ask about your site. There are hiking trails from the park and it's very close to the village where there's a restaurant, museum, stores, etc. There are shuttles but they aren't always on schedule. They also offer tours of Monument Valley which are excellent - we learned so much from our guide, Joe, and avoided driving our truck on the rough roads. We would definitely stay again. Check out the photo from the door of our trailer as the sun came up! We camped at Goulding's Lodge & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA, Williams, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

This appears to be a nice, clean park set up in concentric circles which makes it a bit difficult to get to your spot due to the one-way designations. There are a lot of trees; watch your slides for falling pine cones! The staff seems a bit flustered at times; first we were told we didn't need a password for the wifi and when we went on a password was required. Of course it was after hours so had to wait until the next day. Evidently they have two wifi providers; Tengonet being the only one we had access to. When we again requested password they said just use the "KOA" access which we explained didn't show up on our site. Staff seemed annoyed they had to provide password; also annoyed when we asked for cable station guide. The worst is the shower which only stays on for 30 seconds and you have to push the button again; one handed showers are annoying! Supposedly saving water but if you're so annoyed you shower in your rig it kind of defeats the purpose. In season it seems they have a lot of amenities including a grill which wasn't open yet. Also no groceries were stocked in the store. Very child-friendly with go-karts (in season) and other activities. It's about an hour from the Grand Canyon and 15 minutes to Williams. We probably wouldn't stay here again mainly due to the unfriendly vibe. We camped at Williams / Exit 167 / Circle Pines KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Panguitch KOA, Panguitch, Utah

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here for 4 days while visiting Bryce & Zion - Bryce is closer but the drive down 89 to Zion is beautiful - wouldn't have missed coming in from the east entrance for anything! The campground is clean and convenient; staff is friendly and helpful. Our site was level and everything worked great - even the wifi which is unusual. We used antenna for TV and got great reception. Pool wasn't open yet but we had a lot to see. The town is small but has a couple of stores. Not close to any city of size. We were here in April and it froze overnight so make sure you're winterized if you come before May. We camped at Panguitch KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Las Vegas RV Resort , Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $29.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very clean park with excellent service from the friendly staff. The individual showers are wonderful. Our site was level and staff made sure we got in and hooked up. The park is clean and everything worked great except the wi-fi was unreliable - we use it only for email and making reservations or getting info on local attractions and more than 1/2 the time we couldn't get on. The location is great as far as convenience to freeways; the area isn't high rent but the park is very secure with a gated entrance and patrolled regularly day and night. We felt very safe. We would definitely stay here again! We camped at Las Vegas RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Ventura Beach RV Resort, Ventura, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $70.00
Overall Rating:

We have stayed here several times and have enjoyed our stay - we usually get a pull-through but they have raised their prices to $90 per night for a pull-through plus local taxes and fees. We booked a back in for our 36' trailer plus truck. The fee was $74 for two nights and they offered 3rd night free. That was great until we saw the site! It is 40' and you have to back in straight which is virtually impossible with the slanted pull-thru's across that were full as well as palm trees on each side of the opening. After several attempts we went back to the office explaining this was too small and tight for our rig. We were rudely told "People get in there all the time." If we move you we charge $15 - really? I offered to pay additional for pull-thru but we were told there were none available for the time of our stay. We watched at least 10 sites remain vacant during our entire stay. We were given a site which did work right next to the freeway - the noise was awful. I even talked to the manager who at first said our rig was bigger than 36" - not according to the mfgr. She then said they had a fork lift that could get us in - we weren't told this until AFTER we paid the $15. Will not be coming back here - not worth the rudeness and high prices. We camped at Ventura Beach RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The Fair Park RV - Alameda County Fairgrounds, Pleasanton, California

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here before and for the price it's great. Very convenient to the freeways as well as a nearby BART station. Shopping right down the street. If there's an event going on it can be crowded and a little more difficult to get in and out of the park. Several long term that aren't too nice looking but generally it's a great place if you're visiting the Bay Area. Wifi works great but no cable TV and we had a hard time getting local stations with aerial. You can't beat the price! Staff is very responsive to any concerns, too!
