Lynchburg / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA, Monroe, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground if a bit off the beaten path. The park itself is nice; very clean. We only stayed overnight and everything at our site worked great. It's about 1/2 hour from Natural Bridge and at least 1/2 hour from I-81. Roads inside the park can be a bit tricky. We camped at Lynchburg / Blue Ridge Parkway KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Riverside Campground & Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

One of our favorite parks in the country! Lovely shaded areas next to the Little Pigeon River. Convenient to shopping and Great Smoky National Park. Roomy spaces that are level and very clean. Staff is super and the new bathrooms are fabulous - nicer than most hotels! Love this place! We camped at Riverside Campground & Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park - looks a little disorganized when you pull in but they take advantage of all the space. Office staff is very accommodating and friendly. Dinner every night as well as live music is a bonus! The spaces are great - ours was very level and roomy. The place has a very friendly atmosphere. Wifi works good! Convenient to Nashville but away from the hustle and bustle. Lots of shopping nearby. We would definitely stay again! We camped at Grand Ole RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Decatur / Wheeler Lake KOA, Hillsboro, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The good thing about this park is that it's in a beautiful locale on Mallard Creek. If you're a boater or a fisherman it's great. Also they have spaces together for groups of three units to camp together. It is about 10 miles from any shopping. Unfortunately not all the "amenities" they list are actually operational. They only have 5 full-hookup spaces and they are not near the lake. There is no WiFi except in the office. Our space had trash and many cigarette butts from previous campers. The bathrooms have no electrical plugs and are not cleaned on a regular basis. The women's shower had cigarette butts in the shower as well as dirty washcloths....two days in a row. Another shower was full of ants. They encourage you to pay another $10 for a gate key or you have to wait at the gate to be let in. As other campers have mentioned the roads are narrow and the gates narrower still. The morning we were leaving the tornado warning siren went off....we tried to call the office (after 9 a.m.) and only got a recording. When it stopped as we were gathering our pets to find shelter we realized it was a test. It would have been considerate to inform campers when they check in that they have the test every Monday! We would not stay here again. We camped at Decatur / Wheeler Lake KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Montgomery South RV Park, Hope Hull, Alabama

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This isn't a fancy RV resort but a great place for a few days. Our site was large but did need a small leveler. The wifi was one of the best we've ever had. There's a couple of full-time residents but nothing that was offensive or dangerous. It's out on a country road but convenient to the freeway and not too far from Montgomery downtown. We didn't hear any road noise. The owner is very nice and they couldn't do enough to make your stay comfortable. The best part was the shower/restroom! Better than most homes! We would definitely stay again. We camped at Montgomery South RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Albany RV Resort, Albany, Georgia

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park -it seemed it's undergoing some repairs but that didn't get in the way of a great stay. The spaces are very long and ours was level. Nice shaded spots but the trees weren't in the way of getting in and out as well as getting through the roads. The staff was wonderful - wifi worked great and it was convenient to shopping. It was nice and quiet away from the road - highly recommend! We camped at Albany RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest parks we've stayed in - very roomy sites and everything worked great including the wifi. A nice pool and hot tub! Roads are a bit tight in places but we have 33' trailer with no problems. The staff was exceptional working with us to stay extra days. Close enough to shopping, etc., but far away enough to be quiet. One day a tortoise came toddling through our spot! Sites are quite varied from deep in a wooded area to uncovered - seems there are many full-timers but rules are enforced so it's a lovely place to stay. We camped at Rock Crusher Canyon RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Quail Roost RV Campground, Crystal River, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

After reading reviews we booked this park but were very disappointed. The office is only open 3 hours a day so our information was left on the door. Our site was dirt off a dirt road. Once we got set up we realized there was no cell service (AT&T) and they give you a wifi code only good for one device which I had used for my phone in order to call friends in the area. After that we couldn't use for laptop or tablet. Although we planned to stay for a week we felt very uncomfortable having no ability to communicate. The lady in the office was very nice. We paid for our one night and moved along. We camped at Quail Roost RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA, Davie, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

As mentioned by other reviewers the park needs a lot of work - it seems they're working on improvements as the shower/restroom is brand new and excellent. Our site was level and convenient but we were directed to another site that we couldn't get into because of randomly parked trucks or cars. The staff is extremely helpful. Wifi was OK and sites not too crowded. We camped at Davie / Ft. Lauderdale KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tallahassee RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice park close to the I-10 with easy in and out. Close to shopping as well. Our site was level and big enough for our trailer and truck. A bit close at most sites but everything worked great. It has the one of best wifis we've had in our travels. There are some extended stay folks but they're in the back and seem to be tidy. We would stay here again. We camped at Tallahassee RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There's an antique car museum down the street - we visited and weren't impressed. They charge $15 per person - no senior or military discount. Although it has a few cool cars it has a lot of junky stuff like old calculators, boat motors and knives for sale as well as replica Steinway pianos. For the price it's not worth it.

All About Relaxing RV Park, Theodore, Alabama

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a lovely park and the owners are so friendly - true Southern hospitality! Our 3 kitties appreciated their names on the welcome board at our site. The bathrooms are nicer than most hotels and there's even a dog wash next to them. The pool is pristine! It's close to shopping and main roads but in an area that is very peaceful and quiet. Beautifully landscaped property. We had to level out a bit and our site had a tree that was a bit tricky but staff member was very conscientious in helping us get in and out. Wifi wasn't great - sometimes it worked fine and other times not at all (we do NOT use for streaming) and no cable. Over the air came in fine though. We would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone in the area. We camped at All About Relaxing RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Houston Central RV Park, Houston, Texas

Date of Stay: May, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The fact that no one reviewed it since 2013 should have told me something but evidently I didn't read the dates. This used to be a KOA and I can see why it isn't anymore. More than 90% full time residents and no sign of any required upkeep. Trash cans were overflowing, any wooden structure handn't been painted in years, the cabins were surrounding by junk. One site had four cars parked around the fifth wheel. It's in an industrial area with a dump at the end of the road. Although the site was level and water/electricity were fine there is no cable TV and Wifi didn't work. Roads were fine and bathroom was clean. Although advertised as closest to downtown Houston it is difficult to find and get to. No decent shopping nearby. We would not stay here again. We camped at Houston Central RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Alsatian Resort & Golf Club, Castroville, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the nicest parks we've ever stayed at. Off the main roads it's got its own golf course! My husband got a tee time on Golfnow for $17 including cart! Cement roads and pads with grass and patios. They have "casitas" which are much more money but park your rig next to them and instant private showers & kitchen. Lovely pool and hot tub although lots of bugs in the water. I'm surprised there weren't more travelers there - it seems a hidden secret for Texans but it's certainly worth the effort if you're going to be in the San Antonio area. About 30 minutes from downtown and not much traffic. Convenient to shopping and staff is very friendly. The only criticism would be the ladies washroom showers are not very private - the shower curtain only covers half the entrance to the shower itself and opens to the main public area. No seats or benches except in the one handicapped room so you have to put your bag on the floor and dry yourself in the main area. Kind of reminded me of the showers in high school :-) Very clean though. We woke up in morning with a couple of cows peeking over the fence behind our spot! We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Alsatian Resort & Golf Club in a Travel Trailer.

Fort Stockton RV Park, Fort Stockton, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Fairly large park with a lot of full-timers but they are off to one section of the park. Our site was fine; mostly level but we were overnighting so didn't unhook. Wifi was one of the best we've had. They have a restaurant on site which was good home cooking. Pretty bumpy road going in but the park roads are fine. We camped at Fort Stockton RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

Nice park and very convenient to town and freeway. Helpful staff. Very busy campground which fills up almost every night so book early. The pull-throughs are a bit narrow; our slides were almost touching our neighbors slide. Site was level and easy in & out. Beautiful view of the valley and Organ Mountains from the park.
