Dam Site (Greers Ferry) COE, Heber Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

I've stayed here at least 10 times the past few years, and it's hard to beat the value. You are secluded, at the same time you're close to the lake and town. The sites are level and cleaned. There is also a central dump station outside the gate.

You are able to access their own ramp, dock, and swim area. If you don't have a Corps pass to use your boat, this will save you some money. Security is good, as the gate closes at 10pm, and you will need the code to enter. The sheriff's office comes through frequently. The park is spread out, and different prices depending on the service you need for the night. We camped at Dam Site (Greers Ferry) COE in a Travel Trailer.

Crowley's Ridge State Park, Paragould, Arkansas

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

I took the camper for the post-winter trip to this park and was pleasantly surprised. There are plenty of spots, with enough space between yourself and your neighbor. All the parking spots were equipped with water and 30amp service. I would caution that not all sites are level, some with some major dips, and uneven surfaces. You should call the office and check which one would work best for your length of trailer. There are plenty of walking trails nearby and a swim lake is also inside the park.

One word of caution, cell phone service is about nil in the park, I found this out and actually moved sites to get better reception (only 2 bars!) to stay in touch with the outside world! There was a problem with the water at my site, and the park superintendent came by and made it right. Very impressed with the service. We camped at Crowley's Ridge State Park in a Travel Trailer.
