Orlando NW / Orange Blossom KOA, Apopka, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed during Easter weekend. This was our second trip. We have a 40ft DP with a car. The pull through site offered plenty of space. Our site had a table, bbq, chairs etc. We didn't have a noise issue as we were in the middle of the park. There is an airport next to the campsite. Planes came in and out but noise was very minimal.

What impressed me the most was the staff. The woman at the front went out of her way to juggle sites so our last minute booking could met and we could get a pull through. The workers cruise around all day in the golf carts cleaning and picking up trash.

This is one of our favorite locations when we are in the area. It is close to Mt. Dora, Home Depot, Camping World and only a half hour to Disney. We camped at Orlando NW / Orange Blossom KOA in a Motorhome.

Oak Plantation Campground, Charleston, South Carolina

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at Oak Plantation the last few days of December. We were surprised how full the campground was. Check in was fast and the girl at the front was very friendly and helpful. The sites were large. We have a 40ft DP with 4 slides and we were towing a full sized trailer. No problem fitting into our pull through.

The bathrooms were clean. There were rows of trashcans at every street entrance which was great. No stinky dumpsters or holding your trash until the AM.

The campground itself is very quiet. We were there New Years Eve and didn't have noise issues.

The surrounding roads are loud. We were at the end in Q so we could hear cars and car stereos in our main coach area. We have a white noise machine in the bedroom and that worked well for the street noise.

Be prepared for heavy traffic coming and going. The main road is very busy.

There is washers/dryer on site but there was a line when we tried to use it. There is a coin laundry across the street. The patrons were a different crowd then what we are used to but nobody paid any attention to us or bothered us.

The WiFi worked well. Our roof mounted satellite could not get signal. The campground offers free cable and that worked well. We camped at Oak Plantation Campground in a Motorhome.

Country Oaks RV Park & Campground, Kingsland, Georgia

Date of Stay: December, 2015 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

We really enjoyed our two night stay. We have a 40ft DP and we were towing a full size trailer. Our site was large. We have 4 slides and had no problem opening and had space to spare. Our in-motion roof top satellite worked well in our spot.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The campground is charming and clean. The area is safe. The best part of this campground is it was blissfully quiet. We were able to sleep until noon which never happens for us.

The only negative is the roads are tight. Our setup is long so it was a challenge to get around. Not a deal breaker but something worth mentioning. We camped at Country Oaks RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris, Tavares, Florida

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 40ft RV with four slides. We use our RV on the weekends. We do not bring a car, we use our bicycles and carry a Vespa scooter. We do not travel with pets or children. We use our own hotspot for Wi-Fi and have DirecTV so we do not need cable. What is important to us is a park that is in a safe area and quiet with working hookups.

Fisherman's Cove is in a beautiful area about 20min away from Mt. Dora. There is a great park right across the street for biking, jogging etc. The park is close to grocery stores, and Walgreens. The area is surrounded by lakes.

The site they gave us was a double paved on a hill with a view of the lake in the distance. We backed to a main road and a church but we didn't have issues with traffic noise. They had us away from other RVs, which is perfect for us. The roads are wide so we had no problems backing in or getting out. The staff is extremely friendly. There were four different men who work at the front area and every one of them was helpful and pleasant. We were invited to their fourth of July picnic which we attended. The staff and full timers were there and everyone was so nice.

Some of the negatives that didn't bother us but may bother others.

The grounds were a bit unkempt, with some weeds. We were there in July so that could be why. The map they hand out doesn't match the street names so that was a fun adventure trying to find our site. Some of the RVs were very old and not in the best shape. The bathrooms were better than a gas station but they have seen better days. The area is very hilly so be prepared for that. The site was level so it wasn't an issue for us. We camped at Fisherman's Cove RV Park at Lake Harris in a Motorhome.

Aztec RV Resort, Margate, Florida

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here one night after fleeing from another on the west coast. First let me say this is probably one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever seen. The layout, pavers, general cleanliness, and lot size are superb. The pool was something you would see in a movie and the tennis courts were terrific. This was truly a gorgeous place to stay.

The area surrounding this park leaves something to be desired. Other reviews said "urban and seedy". I think that is a bit of an understatement. Unless you are in the center of the park your view will old apartments and a park where people peer in through the fence bars. If you have been to a Caribbean country where you are staying in a 5 star resort surrounded by an urban area, that would describe Aztec. We do not travel with a toad, just our scooter. This was not an area that we felt OK about scooting around.

Because it was off season, there were very few people so we had the resort to ourselves. Security was very good as the guard drove around most of the night. We camped at Aztec RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lazydays RV Campground, Seffner, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

I think I am one of the few people that really didn't like Lazydays. The sites are short and the streets are crowded with toads. We had to have the neighbors on all sides move their cars so we could leave. It is a huge place with lots of things to do. I can see why people love it. Our problem was noise and congestion. We are in our 30's and it was just to much for us. Most of the night the group next door had seven (we counted) small children running in and out of their travel trailer. This went on until past midnight. We could actually feel their stomping in our 41ft rig. After calling our sales rep, they did move us to a corner site which was better but it was still constant traffic, golf carts and noise.

The site was free because we were looking to purchase a new RV. We camped at Lazydays RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Christmas RV Park, Christmas, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I love this park! We discovered it last fall when we were driving home from a race and wanted a place to stop for the night. We had a DP pulling a 32ft enclosed trailer. They were able to find us a site without us unhooking. We became fans on that day. We spent New Years here and go for the occasional weekend so we have a good feel for the different times of the year in this park.

Rustic meets modern is a good word to describe it. This is a safe place with lots of trees, winding dirt roads and plenty of room to work around it. Easy in and out off the main road.

The park is a mishmash of woods and charm mixed with sheds, outbuildings and some older campers. Throw in a few Airstreams and huge late model busses. If you are looking for upscale beauty this may not be the place for you. We love it for the old Florida feel. A good number of the folks are full timers and we have found them to be friendly and welcoming. The park is very quiet at night. Around 8:00am people start to stir, talk outside, trash is picked up. It is not super noisy, but it is worth noting.

Sites have 50amp with good water pressure. The ground is grass or hard gravel. The trees are kept trimmed. We have never had an issue leveling.

The game room has a huge TV, sofa's, pool table, games etc.

Bathrooms are spotless.

We have a 41ft DP and have plenty of room to put out all four slides. We have, on occasion had issues getting our satellite to work because of all the trees. They do advertise WIFI but we bring our own hotspot.

The office hours are very short. They have open sites after hours. You drive up to registration and they have slips with what sites are available. We camped at Christmas RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stage Stop Campground, Winter Garden, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We have a 41ft DP. We chose this park based on availability. Spring Break around Orlando means most sites were booked. Stage Stop had availability and a really low price compared to what we normally pay around this area.

We have our own bathroom, satellite and Wi-Fi so review does not include info on these things.

Overall I thought this park was great and would stay again. Nice and clean, friendly staff with long office hours, and it was blissfully quiet at this site. Best we have stayed at for the noise factor. The surrounding area is safe with good shopping, stores and a cool little town. It's very easy to get to Disney and a beautiful drive as well. A few turns, the Turnpike and the exit takes you right to the gates. There is a large field in front where we enjoyed playing Frisbee.

Our negatives were:

There were only a few spots available for 50amp. Plenty of open 30amp sites. We were able to find one but it wasn't in a location we would normally pick. Because you cannot reserve a site, it is a tossup if you will get the 50amp site.

We could not level. It was raining when we arrived. The sites are grass and dirt with no filler. No matter what we tried from wood to metal braces under the pads, everything sunk a few feet into the ground. The front wheels came off the ground, the back kept sinking. We finally gave up. I was afraid a sink hole would start. We tried again the next day and still couldn't level.

We were glad we didn't bring our daughter. There are swings, a pool etc but I think kids will be bored fast and it is more of a park for quiet adults. We camped at Stage Stop Campground in a Motorhome.
