Mountain Stream RV Park, Marion, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This park is for adults that want to sit by a mountain stream and relax. It is almost to the top of the mountain near the Blue Ridge Parkway so the road is steep and winding but in good condition. It is not recommended to come down from the Blue Ridge in a Big Rig but 34' is ok. Almost all sites are along the creek(s) and have fire rings and some have decks to provide a nice sitting area. Overall it is a small camp ground and the owners live on site. There is a nice fenced in dog play area. The bath house is very small and cramped with pass through curtains for access to the back shower via the first shower no privacy and one sink. The park is nicely landscaped, well kept and the camp store has only a few basic items and doubles for the owner's ham radio shack which adds some character. We go a couple times each year for a relaxing weekend. We camped at Mountain Stream RV Park in a Motorhome.

Campfire Lodgings, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

Fabulous 170 degree view-from premium sites, it is well worth it. Very friendly owner, wonderful location, clean individual restrooms very private, nice hiking paths, great common viewing area for nightly sunset over the mountains. We go several times a year, great place to relax and enjoy the view. All premium sites are concrete pads with landscaping. We camped at Campfire Lodgings in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

About 15 minutes from the Biltmore Estate, which is worth the visit and the Blue Ridge Parkway for a scenic drive
