Downstream RV Park, Quapaw, Oklahoma

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

There are 2 "parks" at the casino. We stayed in the one near the casino and walkable even though there is a shuttle every 10-15 minutes. This one tends to have truckers overnighting nearby, but we didn't hear them as long as you park away from their parking area. The other "park" is closer to the freeway by the C store. Our site sloped rear to front but we did get level. The trick is to go to the casino guest services, get a player card the take it to the gift shop which gives you one free night. There is power at each site with water at every other site (no dump station), so it's best to arrive early since it's first come first served. We camped at Downstream RV Park in a Motorhome.

Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park, Wildwood, Missouri

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

A very quiet park during the week. Heard it is quite busy on the weekends. All sites are concrete and generally level. Satellite reception is best in sites up to 26 as these are in a meadow with few trees. Others are in heavy tees which may not be bad in summer for the shade. Be aware, all sites are power only. There is water available but it's best to have a full fresh water tank and empty waste tanks. There is a dump station by the restrooms, but it can be busy in the early morning. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Dr. Edmund A. Babler Memorial State Park in a Motorhome.

West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA, Gretna, Nebraska

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 6 days while attending a medical study at the medical school. Sites at the front and back of the campground are mostly level, with those in the middle less so. Those to the rear tend to get noise from I-80, while those near the front get some noise from the main road. Trucks tend to start using the road around 5am. The staff is very attentive and welcoming. We arrived a day earlier than our reservation and they found us a site on a very busy weekend. The following day, the rig in our reserved site was having mechanical issues and the staff kept us informed of the status and worked hard to accommodate us. They have a fantastic playground for the children. Our four legged friends have a fenced area to run off-leash. Satellite reception is iffy in most sites due to the trees, however cable is quite good. Our site #31 had a break in the trees and we got good satellite reception. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at West Omaha / NE Lincoln KOA in a Motorhome.

Carlsbad RV Park and Campground, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here after visiting Carlsbad Caverns. Just a short drive from the National Park with easy access. Roads and sites are gravel and level. Older park but well maintained. Very quiet at night with little road noise. But...some of the residents are workers who leave a 5am in their large trucks. Friendly staff made for a welcoming atmosphere. Would stay here again. We camped at Carlsbad RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Western Sky's RV Park, Vado, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Stopped on our way east to Carlsbad Caverns. Pros: easy access from I10 with a Chevron full service truck stop nearby. Indoors there is no noticable freeway noise. PA price reflects what you get, a convenient overnight stop with no frills. Some shade. Cons: very dusty, but FHU easy to access. Most sites are are occupied by semi permanent residents but it is quiet. The park is near stop yards so the odor is quite noticable with flies abundant. The dog park is little more than a wide spot with almost no grass, but be careful of the burs that may affect the four legged friends. We camped at Western Sky's RV Park in a Motorhome.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

One of the nicest RV park/resorts we have encountered. The check-in staff was pleasant and accommodating. Our assigned site had not been vacated and staff worked diligently to get us as close as possible to the club house. Access to the resort is monitored 24 hours a day, so we felt very secure. The roads in the resort are asphalt and all sites a concrete. Our deluxe site had grass and was close to the pools (one for the family and another for adults only). Standard sites are also concrete but have gravel adjacent instead of grass. There is also a mini golf course that seems to get a lot of play. The club house has a mini-store with all the essentials like ice and other goodies. We have stayed here before and will definitely return. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Zuni Village RV Park, Kingman, Arizona

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed overnight on our way to Las Vegas. Conveniently located off US93 yet quiet. While it is an older park, it is well maintained with trash being picked up daily. About half the park residents are semi-permanent, but don't interfere with over nighters. If you are walking a dog, just beware of the large black cat on the west end of the park, he will attack. The sites are gravel and fairly level and easy to access. We camped at Zuni Village RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford, Anniston, Alabama

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

A basic RV park close to Camping World. Nothing spectacular for an overnight stay. The fenced dog run placed in the middle of the park convenient to all sites. We were escorted to our site by the friendly staff. Sites were spacious with new gravel and level. Some road noise from I20, but not enough to be a nuisance. As with almost all RV parks, there is a train nearby with engineers who love their whistles. We would stay here again for an overnighter. We camped at Camping World - Good Sam Campground of Oxford in a Motorhome.

Woodlands Camping Resort, Elkton, Maryland

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a resort. Rather, a campground with 90% permanent residents. There are 2 sites in the campground with reasonably level gravel and FHU 30/50 amp service. We had to move to the 'overflow' on uneven grass with 30 amp and water only mid stay. Had to use leveling pads on one side of the coach get level. If this wasn't the closest to an event we were attending in New Castle, DE, we would have made other arrangements. There is a pool which we closed for the season. The price is way too high and we won't stay here again. We camped at Woodlands Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Anvil Campground, Williamsburg, Virginia

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Very friendly staff at check-in. A little tight maneuvering the road but with care no problems. Sites level gravel, about half in trees with the others more open. Those in the trees may have trouble getting a satellite signal. Wifi worked well most of the time - a little slow during peak hours. Cable was good with many channels. The only reason I marked the campground loser was due to close proximity of the train tracks - about a hundred yards away. The coach actually shook a little when a freight train passed and we were the farthest from the tracks. Luckily the did not run much at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Anvil Campground in a Motorhome.

Public transit stops at the campground if you choose not to drive into Williamsburg. Parking in Historic Williamsburg on the weekend can be very difficult, even this time of year. The nearby outlet mall will keep the shopper busy for hours.

River Ridge Resort, Stanwood, Michigan

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Large well-maintained resort. We stayed overnight before heading to Big Rapids. Since it's late in the season, the park was very quiet with most facilities closed for the winter.

Nevertheless, the grounds were immaculate with concrete pads, grass surrounding the site and fire ring with patio table. Most sites are back in with some pull through with ours the latter. There are basketball courts, a small soccer field, sand volleyball and tennis courts along with a marina.

We would definitely stay here again. We camped at River Ridge Resort in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Generally a good park. Stayed for 2 days but had to move sites after the first night. Trees were dropping nuts all day and night, keeping us up at night and scaring the dog. Staff was very helpful in this process. Trees also hindered satellite TV reception. There is room between sites and generally level gravel. Not many children this time of year so the park was very quiet and kid activities non existent. Park is convenient to Opry Land hotel and many restaurants. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in a Motorhome.

Taps RV Park, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small park with mostly permanent/semi-permanent sites. If your looking for a pool and other amenities, it's not here. Good for a 1 or 2 night layover. The owner is a one man show and tries to keep the place up but it shows wear. The park is for sale. There is a railroad track about 300 yards away, but no whistles. It's a little tight getting onto the site with adequate room between rigs. If you have a toad, you probably can't park it adjacent to your trailer/motorhome. Power is mid-site but reachable from the rear of the coach. We camped at Taps RV Park in a Motorhome.

Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here while attending the Freightliner Chassis class. Called to inquire if we could arrive early and they were very accommodating in finding us a space where we didn't have to move mid-stay. Check-in was easy and we were escorted to our site. Can't say enough about the their customer service approach.

The park is quiet even though it is near I-85, no highway noise at all even though we had our windows open. Entrance is well marked and easy to find, although a little tricky exiting the freeway heading north. GPS wanted to turn us right at the intersection-wrong. Go straight through as though heading toward the entrance ramp, but bear right onto the frontage road. From the north, turn left at the intersection and bear right on the frontage road.

Some sites are in the trees, but these are mostly semi-permanent. Some sites are low at the front of the space. Had to park near the rear and to one side to get level. WIFI was pretty good (compared to most parks). For those who have dogs, there is an enclosed dog park for off-leash exercise. They also have pizza to go (made onsite) and well worth it if you don't feel like cooking. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Motorhome.

Treasure Isle RV Park, Hot Springs, Arkansas

Date of Stay: September, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This park is under new ownership and many changes are being made. The pool is newly refurbished. Sites are level gravel and easy to maneuver. The new General Manger is very attentive to the needs of the guests and he is working hard to make the necessary upgrades to a park that had needed some loving care. Wifi is spotty, but an upgrade is in the works. If possible get one of the lakeside sites. I would definitely stay here again. We camped at Treasure Isle RV Park in a Motorhome.
