Castle Lake Campground and Cottages, Arcadia, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Gravel roads throughout the campground, some good size potholes. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Quite a few long term campers here - really need to clean them up (grass and weeds grown up around them, toys scattered all over the sites with children). No cable. Wifi not very good. Water pressure not very good. We were in the back side of the campground - if they cleaned it up, planted some trees or flowers, and leveled the roads this wouldn't be a bad place to stay. We camped at Castle Lake Campground and Cottages in a Motorhome.

Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax, Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Staff very unfriendly, acted like they really didn't want to be bothered. Site was back to back, small trees on each side of us - not quite big enough yet to block other campers, will probably have to be cut back as they grow because of space issues. Hookups were ok - not great. Water pressure low. A lot of "permanent" campers. We would not stay here again. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

Eat at The Bicycle Thief in Halifax - so good and right on the waterfront. Walk around the waterfront- a lot to see and do. Visit Halifax Citadel- very interesting fort, with great tour guides inside the fort. Also, visit Peggys Cove, Lunenburg, and definitely Mahone Bay.

Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

As stated before, road into campground is pretty rough. Staff very helpful and friendly. Campground was crowded, sites are tiered due to terrain so our slide was almost in our neighbor's site. Laundry facilities were very good. No cable (found that to be the case at all the Canadian campgrounds we stayed in). WiFi not very good and Verizon cell reception not great - usually 1 or 2 bars, rarely 4G. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

New Glasgow Highlands, New Glasgow, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent campground - our favorite of the 18 we stayed at this summer. Staff very helpful, easy access to everything. Only site I saw that wasn't in comparison to the others in the campground was site #18a, and unfortunately our travel companions were in it. We camped at New Glasgow Highlands in a Motorhome.

Definitely go to Prince Edward Island Preserve Company to eat - delicious food! And try & buy some of their jellies, salsas, etc - yum! Visit Anne of Green Gables site, Avonlea Village, and if possible go see the brother - sister act "The Ross Family" for ceilidh music and dancing (they perform at Clinton Hills, which isn't too far from the campground).

Hadley's Point Campground, Bar Harbor, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Very crowded at front of park, we were a little further back so there was more room. 1st turn past office to sites was tight. We had water and electric - no sewer. They offer "honey wagon" service for $12 - someone comes to your site and pumps out your tanks. They do have a dump station - it was very nasty. They charge for showers. We camped at Hadley's Point Campground in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Yonder Hill, Madison, Maine

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Check-in smooth, very friendly staff. We were with friends and we were put in what appeared to be the shoulder of the gravel road, in the back section of the campground. They had us set up with our front being in line with their back, felt like it was an overflow area. The roads were narrow. A lot of campers were set up for the season, it appeared. Saw two with "For Rent" signs on them. Only stayed one night. We camped at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park at Yonder Hill in a Motorhome.

Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA, Lewiston, New York

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $53.00
Overall Rating:

Sites close, but not too bad. They had a lot of rain previous to our stay, so everything was wet and muddy - not anything the owners can control.. Sites could use more gravel, there were a lot of mud holes. Interior roads were tight, tree branches, vehicles parked along road to our site - one of them had to be moved before we could get to our site. No cable, water pressure adequate. Would not stay here again. We camped at Niagara Falls North / Lewiston KOA in a Motorhome.

Easy access to park, as long as you follow the directions on their website (GPS will lead you the wrong way). Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA, Broadway, Virginia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $54.00

Staff was very nice at check-in. Narrow roads in park (as well as the road going to the park, from the interstate). Water pressure low, cable on select sites (not ours), no internet, pull-through site was barely long enough for our 31ft motor home with tow. We camped at Harrisonburg / Shenandoah Valley KOA in a Motorhome.
