Overnite RV Park, Amarillo, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $31.00
Overall Rating:

Surprised it was rated four stars by Allstays & good rating by Good Sam. Old & run down. We had requested one of the sites with a dog enclosure but "none available" when we arrived. Our site had view of a tractor & lumber piled up. Close to I 40 so OK for one night. We camped at Overnite RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Took the limo to Big Texan steakhouse. Way overrated! Horrible experience with the food. After sending back once ended up not eating any of the dinner. Don't bother.

Two Rivers Campground, Nashville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

The only advantage was the proximity to Opryland. The two women in the office were curt & non helpful. We had problems with their cable & the one woman said to my husband "It must be you. Are you calling me a liar" as she showed him the TV on the office.Their laundry was the most expensive we've seen-$2.00 to wash a load & $.50/10 min to dry. The park is located right between an RV dealership & Camping World. Nothing to look at for sure. No pet run for the dogs at all. We camped at Two Rivers Campground in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

VERY pricey for what looks like a parking lot. You're basically paying for proximity to the French Quarter. Neighborhood not great do wouldn't walk back at night. Our site looked out at Interstate 10 overhead. There are a few nicer sites close to the office with gazebos but wasn't aware to ask for one on the phone when making reservations months ago. No large area to walk dogs. All pavers and street except for a little grass for dogs which was in front of our site, and not everyone picks up after their dogs. The most expensive park we encountered going all across the nation. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ask for an upgraded site with gazebo although it's already pricey for a plain site looking at the interstate.

Destin West RV Resort, Fort Walton Beach, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $89.00
Overall Rating:

Very expensive for what we got. Would have been OK if in the back overlooking the bay but we were looking out at the highway & right next to a parking lot of a bar & restaurant. VERY loud music from the bar audible until 2 or 3 AM. Water pressure was horrible-just a trickle in the shower. They sent a man to check it but he said it was fine. Could be a nice place if you're in a decent spot. We were told we got the last available site when we reserved months in advance & yet there were many openings the entire time we were there. It was to much trouble to move for 2 nights. We camped at Destin West RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Ocala RV Camp Resort, Ocala, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Gentleman leading us to the site was very nice. Problem with washer in laundry room. Filled with water & stopped so took all our clothes put & started over. Employee in charge of the laundry came in & put his clothes in that washer, shook the machine & used our money & soap stating "you just need to know how to get it started". All the machines were ancient. We were missing a washcloth from our laundry do went to ask in the office in the morning. The wife of the man from the laundry laughed about what he did & told us & said she probably had our washcloth but she couldn't look until she got off work. (They lived right there near the office) I told her we wrte leaving but she didn't care. I asked fory money back from the washer & reluctantlu they gave it to me. They had closed the office before the posted time the night before when we needed change for the laundry. Not a very professional management style there.

Probably was a beautiful park but very run down. Looks like old KOA. We camped at Ocala RV Camp Resort in a Motorhome.
