Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA), Bozeman, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

This is the most overpriced, under-serviced RV park we have ever stayed in. The office staff are all very young and completely indifferent to doing anything other than taking their overpriced site fees. The cable TV did not work the entire 12 days we were there and nobody would even come check it. The men's bathroom had a broken hand dryer and after telling 3 office staff, nothing was done again for 12 days. There are no weekly rates and in order to get the "discount" that is supposed to be available "stay 7 days, get 1 free" you have to insist to talk to the manager who may or may not call you back. The sites are overgrown and narrow, the picnic tables are old, covered with bird droppings and broken. We made our original reservation far in advance and then added some days about a month before we arrived. No one on the staff could figure out how to arrange the reservation so we had to move sites part way through our stay. There are not many choices in this area but you need a lot of patience and money to stay in this park. We camped at Bozeman Hot Springs Campground (formerly Bozeman KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

Countryside RV Park, LLC, Dillon, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

great park, great staff. only problem is that sites are aligned so that the afternoon/evening sun beats on the front of the rig. if the sites had been aligned the opposite way, this would be a 10/10/10. We camped at Countryside RV Park, LLC in a Fifth Wheel.

Great Falls KOA, Great Falls, Montana

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $73.00
Overall Rating:

There are new owners so we'll give them the benefit of the doubt since it is obvious that there are years of deferred maintenance to catch up on. the older part of park is hilly and very unlevel. Parking spot is flat but sites fall away from front doors. Newer part of the park has no relief from the summer sun. Trees in older part provide relief from the sun but need badly to be trimmed. wifi is spotty and the staff is well aware. Their solution is to come to the office to connect. With only 2 choices in great falls, this is the better option. We camped at Great Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Great falls offers the Charles Russell Museum and is worth a visit. Also worth a visit is River Road Parks and Giant Spring State Park. We needed to install a 2nd air conditioner and used AAA mobile rv repair and would highly recommend them. Did great work.

Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages, Indio, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

This park is in the desert so you need to know where the shade is. The pull thru sites should have been angled slightly different so that the HOT afternoon sun wasn't baking the front of the RVs. Sewer hookups are inconveniently located at the rear of the site. All of our neighbors (and us too) had to make a trip to a RV supply store to add extensions to our sewer houses. No TV (yep you heard me right, 21st century and they don't have TV.) I was told to aim the antenna at the break in the mountains and we could get 60 channels. Not sure where that number came from but there were only 2 reliable stations. WiFi is available but spotty. Friendly office staff, nice pool. We camped at Indian Waters RV Resort & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Kaweah Park Resort, Three Rivers, California

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Great little gem right outside Sequoia national park. Park is well maintained and had everything you could want. Was pleasantly surprised by cable TV and great WiFi. Dirt parking and not much grass in each site but lots of public places and a beach right on the river. We'd stay here again. We camped at Kaweah Park Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Belknap Resort & Hot Springs, Mckenzie Bridge, Oregon

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

If you like the 1950s, then this is the park for you. Nothing on the website tells you that this is mostly a 30 amp park, especially if you want to stay near the river and hot springs. If you need 50 amp service your option is about 2 miles away at the affiliated Camp Yale. When we were there at least, probably more than half of the 50 amp circuits were not working. Learned a new hook-up lesson: doublec heck the power even when the office tells you it's OK. Sites are narrow, driveways are also. Trees overhang everything even the fire pits. Some pruning would be a great idea. Hot springs needed cleaning. We'll dry camp in a national forest campground before we come here again. We camped at Belknap Resort & Hot Springs in a Fifth Wheel.

Coyote Valley RV Resort, Morgan Hill, California

Date of Stay: March, 2016 - $60.00
Overall Rating:

This is pretty much your only RV choice if you are in the south bay area. Sites are all concrete and very tight. If you don't get your rig on the far left side you wouldn't be able to walk around it. With our fifth wheel and F350, there is very little space for anything else like outside chairs. Fortunately the folks that helped us park, got us as far left as we could get and still be on the concrete. There's a great pool, hot tub, small store. Office help are pretty nonchalant. Laundry room and showers are average. Laundry is very expensive ($2.50 for one wash). You'd think this close to silicon Valley, they could figure out WIFI but that is not the case. TV is also terrible; starting our 3rd week here and they still can't fix the NBC. We camped at Coyote Valley RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Pay attention to the driving directions. Monterey Hwy has a barrier down the middle and if you come from North heading south, there is an impossible u turn with any rig I've seen in the park. There is a caltrain station about 7 miles up the road that has great morning and late afternoon service all the way to San Francisco, very convenient.

Klamath Falls KOA, Klamath Falls, Oregon

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very tight park - roads and sites. There are trees to watch out for. You are camping on dirt. When someone is dumping, you can not get out of the park. Store is well stocked but there "non-camper" clientele are very sketchy. We made sure that everything was locked at all times. They do have gas/diesel on site so that is an advantage. We camped at Klamath Falls KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Great facility. We were allowed to pick our own site based on our preference. Great office support. Sites were concrete and level. There was shade, patio area with a picnic table. Mammoth Mountain RV Park, Mammoth Lakes, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are on dirt and not marked well. We actually parked in what we thought was out site only to be told by a neighbor that we were in the wrong place. Roads are narrow and the route in and out of the park is not well marked. Bears are a problem so there are big cautions about food. The office staff was not helpful. When we told them that the water in the site next to ours was spraying, they suggested it was our hose even tho there was no hose attached to the bad water pipe. We camped at Mammoth Mountain RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The address gives you every clue you need about this park. It is in the middle of storage and warehouse complexes. The park has a majority of permanent/long term occupants. Had to watch for trees to position rig so that slides could be opened. We camped at Canyon Trail RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very nice office staff. Park is very narrow and only has one loop for large rigs. Trees are very close to sites. Had to strategically position the rig so that we could open all our slides. Carlsbad KOA, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Unbelievable rv park. Wish all parks were this well run, clean and accommodating. Wide level gravel spots with grass separating sites. The cleanest, largest, best shower house we have seen in our 6 week journey. Park is extremely clean and beautifully decorated. An added bonus is the "on-site" bbq dinners - reasonably prices and delicious. Would stay here again in a second. We camped at Carlsbad KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort, San Antonio, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

914 sites - most rv, some cabins. Seem to be an inordinate amount of longterm sites. Sites have concrete pads but are very narrow and close together. Dog park, laundry. Bathhouses are very far apart and the one "closest" to our site was closed. Wifi was almost non-existent. Cable was good.

The park is not very "location" friendly. On a one way loop that navigation and gps systems cannot find. The directions the park gives are "correct" but very difficult to follow. We turned around 3 times with a 35 ft rv 3 times before we could pull in, even tho we could see it. We camped at Blazing Star Luxury RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
