Goldfield RV Park, Colorado Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

As others have said, all sites are extremely small (we have seen none smaller in the lower 48), and probably in violation of the local fire code. Fortunately, other visitors were very cooperative and reasonably considerate with parking vehicles and rigs. Of course it only takes on Jerk to mess things up. Convenient location is really the only attribute of this park. We camped at Goldfield RV Park in a Motorhome.

Along with the obvious sights, consider the Air Force Academy and the museum in Petersen Air Base: both impressive (and free!)

Hilltop Farm Campsites, Mountain Dale, New York

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $23.00
Overall Rating:

With the exception of the pool, this park is very rundown and in desperate need of maintenance and repair. Roads and sites are in poor condition. The owners show little interest in the upkeep of the park and would sell out given an interested buyer. We were the only short term visitor. All others were seasonal and apparently long term occupants. We camped at Hilltop Farm Campsites in a Motorhome.

Restway Travel Park, Cheyenne, Wyoming

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

All facilities are in desperate need of maintenance. Roads and sites are in bad condition. We reserved a full hookup site, but upon arrival were told none were available. Had to settle for water and electric only in a soft grass site. It was clear all full hookup sites were occupied by permanents, so clearly we were mislead. Would not stay here again. We camped at Restway Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Blue RV Park, Dodge City, Kansas

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

This park recently opened and is a work in progress. No restrooms, laundry and other amenities are currently available. All hook ups (electric, water, sewer, cable) are brand new. Very convenient location to town. All sites are back ins, but we were allowed to straddle several sites to simulate a pull thru. Only one other rig (apparently a semi-permanent) occupied a site during our 3 day stay. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Fine place for self contained stay. We camped at Blue RV Park in a Motorhome.

Buck Creek RV Park, Abilene, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Most sites are long term rentals, but all RV's are in good shape and sites are orderly. This park may have the longest pull thrus on the planet. All are 100 feet or longer. Site 22 measured 142 feet in length. Very convenient to Abilene, 1/2 mile off a very bad road from I-20. Quiet with minimal highway and train noise. Sewer hook ups are about 1 foot high which makes draining tanks a slow process. We camped at Buck Creek RV Park in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde RV Park, Wolfforth, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Very convenient coming from the West. Close enough to Lubbock, but away for all the construction in progress in town. Long pull thrus, but are a bit on the narrow side. Park is well maintained and management is very friendly and helpful. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Park in a Motorhome.

Kit Carson RV Park, Flagstaff, Arizona

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Nice quiet setting in the tall pines, convenient to town and sightseeing, but roads, sites and facilities in need of serious upgrading. Very helpful staff didn't offset excessive daily rate given the condition of the park. 70 percent of the sites are taken up by permanent residents with mobile homes in various conditions. WiFi was marginal at best and cable access is limited to a few sites. Trees limit satellite reception in most sites. We camped at Kit Carson RV Park in a Motorhome.

Camp Blanco RV Park, Port Orford, Oregon

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $19.00
Overall Rating:

Owners are on site and very helpful and friendly. Small facility, but everything is well maintained. Both treed and open sites. Very small town with limited services, but great location to explore SW Oregon coast. We camped at Camp Blanco RV Park in a Motorhome.
