Magnolia RV Park and Campground, Kinards, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

Third time using this campground. Quality has been consistent. Reservations a good idea as this spot is popular. Our stays have always been for a week or more. * This trip we stayed a month @ $400 plus electric. A great value IMHO. A quiet peaceful spot ! We camped at Magnolia RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Towns of Clinton, Laurens and Newberry all had plenty of shopping including Walmart....I always say..."If Walmart does not sell it...chances are you don't need it." Many historical Civil War sites in this area.

Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort, Belfast, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This "RV Resort" was the most costly of the campgrounds we stayed at during our two week tour of Maine's sea coast.

The camping area had very few trees. Most sites had an ocean view but space on most sites was limited. Our site (#40) had a sewer connection in addition to water and electric. Only 4 of the sites at this campground had sewer connections, the balance had pump out service available in addition to the standard dump station.

This campground sits on a hillside running down from US Highway 1 to the shoreline. There are steps to allow access to the beach area. Excellent area for site seeing and Acadia National Park a short drive away. We camped at Moorings Oceanfront RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Maine's mid-coast seashore, Acadia National Park and the very crowded Bar Harbor area...a tourist magnet.

Maine is all about LOBSTERS and lobster pounds are everywhere. You can buy them live fresh off the boats and cooked for takeout or eat-in...the choice is yours. Lobster rolls can be had everywhere from $7..99 to $15.00 each...many road side stands feature this Maine staple @ 2 for $15. We consumed way too many over our two week stay in Maine.

Happy Campers!

Sunset Point Campground, Harrington, Maine

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful setting on the rocky coast of Downeast Maine. Sites had water and electric and the campground owner directed you onto your site. Extra bonus: this campground owner will deliver cooked Lobster to your site for a very low cost per pound!

Don't fail to take advantage of this unique service. It made our first night here very special.

Be sure to walk along the campground's waterfront trails and enjoy the many waterfront benches and the views.

Our site even had a covered picnic table..no need to even employ our awning!

This is a very unique campground...a real Maine Gem! We camped at Sunset Point Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

We toured the coast of Maine from this campground and had our passports with us so we could also tour Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. The island is a short drive from this special campground and features President Roosovelt's summer cottage. The bridge to the Island is in Lubec, Maine. Be sure to walk along the campground's waterfront trails and enjoy the many waterfront benches and the views.

Moose River Campground, St Johnsbury, Vermont

Date of Stay: July, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We selected this campground for its location on our return route from the Maine coast. We discovered a gem in the hills of northern Vermont. The campground has most of the sites set along the shores of a river. All the sites had full hookups and plenty of space, shade trees and green grass. Our fire ring was set on the river's bank...very picturesque! This is one campground worth returning to whenever we travel in Vermont. We camped at Moose River Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great base camp location to tour the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont or just relax by the river.
