Sky Mountain Resort RV Park, Chama, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Visited this campground in early September 2015; stayed in site 7 along the river. We found the campground well groomed, clean and attractive. Our site along the river was shaded, some, for instance sites 1 and 2 are more in the open which would be good for satellite reception. We did not use satellite and had excellent reception OTA with our RV antenna. The river sites are designed for motor homes to pull in but the staff was very accommodating in offering an extension cord if needed. We did not need it as our power cord was long enough to run under the RV. The campground was quite although nearly full. The sites are not too close together and those not on the river and under the shade trees are almost in a park-like setting. The best thing about this campground is the customer service. The owners went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable, from leveling our RV (it only needed slight leveling) with their leveling boards no less ... to walking our dog at noon while we road the Cumbres Toltec train. Campground is big rig friendly and easily accessible from Hwy 64. They appreciate your business, take pride in their campground and it shows! We would definitely stay in this campground again. We camped at Sky Mountain Resort RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Found some beautiful clothes while shopping in Chama, which I found surprising for such a small town. The Cumbres Toltec train ride and lunch at Osier was wonderful. If you can swing the Parlor car - do so; you won't be disappointed.

Rayburn Park (COE), Jasper, Texas

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This campground, in my opinion, is a well kept secret. We stayed in site 34 a level pull through, we had a good view of the lake and a covered picnic table. 50 Amp with Water. I would give this campground a 10 if the site had sewer hook-ups. Nearly all sites offered shade and were level. The pull thru sites are 50 amp and those that back-up to the lake were 30 amp. Campground gate attendant and host were very friendly and we enjoyed visiting with them. We will definitely visit this campground again. We camped at Rayburn Park (COE) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

This campground is remote; take everything with you that you may need. There is a convenience store about 15 miles from the campground but it does not offer much in the way of groceries.
