Upper Pines Campground (NPS Campground), Yosemite National Park, California

Date of Stay: August, 2006 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

We always love this campground. The sites are close together and the place is crowded, but this park is the most beautiful place in the world. There is something for everybody here. You can ride the shuttle bus to go get an ice cream cone or go backpacking up into the back country. The choice is yours. I particularly like this campground, especially the last loop, because you will usually get a bear in your campsite every night! We camped at Upper Pines Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This park is absolutely beautiful. Deep in the redwoods and in the midst of some of the best wine country in the world. We camped at Hendy Woods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

New Brighton State Beach, Capitola, California

Date of Stay: February, 2006 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This park was very nice. There were a few campsites that had a view of the ocean. There were a few sites with water and electric, but none of the view sites had hookups. There was easy access to the beach via a trail. The one negative I have is not the park itself, but a couple of campers. One set let there gray water out at their campsite which stunk to high heaven. Another camper dumped at the dump-site upon exit, but didn't use a hose. With us standing right there too! However, without those 2 anomalies, everything was clean and well kept. We camped at New Brighton State Beach in a Travel Trailer.

This is a beautiful family campground close to the lake. They have movies at night in an amphitheater. There is a wonderful hike around the lake. Also great fishing in the lake. We camped at Stanislaus Nat'l Forest / Pinecrest Campground in a Tent Trailer.
