Castle Air Museum RV Park, Atwater, California

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

The park is located on the grounds of Castle Air Force Base which is largely vacant but partly used for community services and flight training. It was originally set up for the volunteer workers at the Air Museum. The rent comes with a free pass to the nearby museum and gift shop, which is definitely worth a visit. The park is basically an asphalt parking area next to a large grassy area. Manager is onsite. Sites are two parking-spaces wide. Wide area in front makes for easy backing. Electric is 50 amp only at the back of the space. Sewer both at space and park dump nearby.

I use the park for an overnighter. We camped at Castle Air Museum RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Truck farms with fruit stands are right near the park. Atwater is adjacent to Merced with Costco, etc.

Imperial Manor MHC (55+park), Citrus Heights, California

Date of Stay: November, 2014 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

My $18 rent is based at monthly rate for my stay during July, August, and September 2014.

Well-maintained park, friendly people.

Most spaces have grass. All have a concrete patio and asphalt driveway. Both of our vehicles fit nicely in our space. No fee for the additional vehicle. The groundskeeper made extra effort to notify us when he watered so that we could keep the vehicles from overspray. Garbage and recycle cans in each space; city pick-up once a week. Mailbox at the curb; USPS delivers. Just like home.

Park amenities I have appreciated:

2-space covered car wash with hoses. Where have you ever seen that?

2 clean laundry rooms, 5 washers and 3 dryers in each. Cost $1 each. Cheap! Dryers run for an hour! And, uncommon at most laundromats, a utility sink.

This is a destination park for the Sacramento area. Very convenient to services. I used to live in Sacramento and return every year to visit family. This park is, by far, the very best I have stayed at, or have first-hand knowledge of, in the Sacramento area. And, I think the rent is a terrific value. We camped at Imperial Manor MHC (55+park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Some area conveniences for me are Costco and Walmart, 2 miles away; Sunrise Mall and major grocers, 4 miles away.
