Silverwood RV Park and Campground, Athol, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

The only reason to stay here is to do silver wood and for that it works great! Road noise, check. No WIFI, check. As close as you can get to silverwood without staying in the park, check. Friendly staff and a discount to the park. It is what is and if your not too picky it serves the purpose well. We camped at Silverwood RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Riverside State Park, Nine Mile Falls, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

I must not be a typical RVr because I don't go to a state park with high expectations for services. If your top 5 must haves are about hookups, WIFI etc then you should go to an RV park next to the freeway. This a beautiful state park along the river that oh by the way has some hookups. Most hookup sites were taken so we dry camped in nice spot away from the crowded utility sites. Nice trails across the river for hiking and biking. Very quiet place for sleeping unlike a freeway RV park! We camped at Riverside State Park in a Motorhome.

Mountain Gate RV Park, Redding, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

We had hoped to make it up to Blue Heron RV park but were running late and found this place. Very close to the freeway but overall a very nice place. The concrete pads were a treat. They are pet friendly with many areas to take your dogs. They do charge a dollar for each dog and 2 dollars for every extra person. Still the value very good compared to a KOA. They do have a peculiar WiFi limit of one device per customer that perplexed us since we registered late and weren't told. We camped at Mountain Gate RV Park in a Motorhome.

Crescent City / Redwoods KOA, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This is my favorite KOA so far. The sites are typical close KOA but with trees between. We spent the night in a driving rainstorm, our second night of this weather. All roads in the campground were under at a least an inch of water the entire time. They had a cute little K9 area which is sized for normal RV sized dogs, not ours. They weren't militant about dog rules especially with the weather. We did see Elk in the far back area which was cool. The laundry and bathroom facilities were clean and the management was friendly. Overall a very good KOA. We camped at Crescent City / Redwoods KOA in a Motorhome.

Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park, Crescent City, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed the night in a driving rainstorm that didn't let up the entire time we were there. This place is all about the trees which are impressive but not any more impressive that Redwoods elsewhere. The spots are very rustic gravel/mud and not very level, but you're not staying here for the camping spots. Each spot has a trash and recycle bin I assume to keep the place pristine. Most trails are closed to both dogs and bikes. This early in the season the park was barely open in terms of facilities. One bath/shower closed and the other far away from out spot. This place is also very dark due to the large trees. There is a nice river access area we had ourselves to due to the weather. We camped at Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park in a Motorhome.

MacKerricher State Park, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Gorgeous setting on a wild shoreline. While the front gate ranger was militant about dog rules we didn't have any problems with our beasts. The sites are spacious and private due to thick brush between sites. Sites are gravel/grass parking. This is a must do place to stay and explore if your in the area. We camped at MacKerricher State Park in a Motorhome.

San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA, Petaluma, California

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

We were in the area on a spring break trip to go to Lagunitas brewery. The brewery is much better than this place. If you are into camping in close quarters with hundreds of other RV's than this place is for you. Apparently it is hugely popular with the locals which I find to be a puzzling pastime but I probably just don't get it. The hook ups were oddly placed forward in our back in spot which made the sewer impossible to use. Need a longer hose I guess! We camped at San Francisco North / Petaluma KOA in a Motorhome.
