D & W Lake Camping and RV Park, Champaign, Illinois

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

We've stayed here several times in the past and have always been well satisfied with our experience. They're doing some upgrades and adding sites, but the most important feature for us is that it has been open year-round. We always stop here each year when heading south. It's the first campground open during the winter after leaving our home in WI and we so appreciate being able to get off the freeway easily, pull in and park quickly, and always get super-friendly service. They've recently added a dog park which is also very much-appreciated. This year we also stayed here overnight on our return trip home. Definitely a good stop for us and very reasonable too! We love the fact that we can depend on staying here even during the cold months so we don't have to find a motel and restaurant just to spend the night and have dinner and breakfast out while traveling.....saves us time, money and hassle! We camped at D & W Lake Camping and RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Cedar Key RV Resort, Cedar Key, Florida

Date of Stay: March, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed a week. One of the nicest parks we've stayed in! Concrete slabs, roomy, most amazing layout! Each site was angled in the best way for backing the rig in plus gave each rig some privacy. Each rig was set back a little from the one next to it, rather than each one exactly side by side (obviously designed by an actual camper, rather than someone with no knowledge or interest in what real campers want/need!). There was lots of room for walking the dog, plus a dog park area. They've added some sites (there are now 99 or 100) and are nearly finished with a second laundry/shower building. The grounds are landscaped with beautiful driftwood pieces and plantings. It's love and quiet there, and close enough to Cedar Key to enjoy some fun restaurants with some great seafood to be had. The ONLY drawback at all was the population of gnats while we were there (this could be seasonal only?) but that's obviously beyond the control of the campground, and you just need to find a product to use that discourage them from bothering you. All in all, a terrific campground! We camped at Cedar Key RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
