Pancho Villa State Park, Columbus, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

The park's sites are set up kind of hard to figure out. We had #10 reserved, but ended up opting for a first come, first serve site. The sites are a little more wide open and spacious. Not a lot of people here, maybe that's why. The electric and water hookups are are on the picnic table side of the RV which is different than we are used to. It is a nice peaceful area. Interior roads are easy to navigate with a big rig. We camped at Pancho Villa State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Brantley Lake State Park, Carlsbad, New Mexico

Date of Stay: November, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed in a reservable site with sewer hookup that was in the back of the lot. Had to use 2 sewer hoses to reach. Easy to level. Water pressure good. Parking spot big enough for 40' fifth wheel. Had to disconnect. Steps down to the picnic area was kind of nice, yet left little room to step out of the RV on level ground. Easy to get around in our big rig on the inner roads. We camped at Brantley Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Bottomless Lakes State Park, Roswell, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

This review is for Lea Lake Park, Bottomless lake state park. To simplify directions here, follow these coordinates. GPS: 33.31644, -104.33089. We had a very long pull through, with shelter, picnic table, and grill. The hosts and rangers are very nice. Utilities are in the middle of the site and work well. There is also a dump station on site. The lake is small, but pretty. There are many stickers as others have mentioned, but I didn't feel the flys and mosquitoes were abnormally bad. Only suggestion is I wish hosts would pick up more cigarette butts and small bits of liter, and the park could use an update with a lot more gravel. Then I would rate it higher, still a nice park though. We camped at Bottomless Lakes State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park, Alamogordo, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here in a 40' fifth wheel. We did fit on our site, but it was not easy. Not many sites would accommodate us. Beautiful view of the mountain as our backdrop. Many sites have a shelter which would be great for tents. I think most sites would be challenging to level. Volunteer kept this park very clean and well tended. Very highly recommended for tents and smaller rv's. We camped at Oliver Lee Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Elephant Butte Lake State Park, South Monticello Campground, Elephant Butte, New Mexico

Date of Stay: October, 2018 - $14.00
Overall Rating:

Such a beautiful setting for a State Park. Our sight overlooked what used to be the reservoir. Not hardly any water now, but it was still a breathtaking view out our rear window, and there a beautiful night sky. Most of the sites are very large and well tended to. Only 30 amp, but that was plenty in October with the cooler temps. This park was easy to navigate with our 40' fifth wheel, and the dump station was convenient to use on our way out. Utilities well placed, and a nice table with a protective shelter to shield from the sun. Nice trail in the park to walk our dogs. No problems with stickers here. We camped at Elephant Butte Lake State Park, South Monticello Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Ute Lake State Park, Logan, New Mexico

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $4.00
Overall Rating:

Really nice rangers here. Lonngggg site. Stayed in Yucca loop. We are a 40' fifth wheel. Could have been 60' and still fit. Electric and water utilities well placed. We had 50 amp service in this loop. Pretty view out over the lake. Easy pull-throughs. Nice gazebo with two sided wall on our site for shelter. We camped at Ute Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park, Saint Peters, Missouri

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is in a very nice county park by a small lake. The campground is made up of three loops. Some pull through sites in the middle, and back ins around the perimeter. Very well maintained. Nice clean restrooms and a laundry onsite. Not much shade, trees are on the smaller size. Easy to navigate with a big rig. There is a very nice dog park in this county park that you can get a temporary membership to if you send in your application ahead of time. It even has a gate you can take your dog through where they can go into the lake. We camped at St. Peters' 370 Lakeside Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Lighthouse Landing RV Park and Cabins, South Hutchinson, Kansas

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $17.00
Overall Rating:

Friendly, helpful staff. Newer park, not a lot of shade yet. Pull through sites are roomy with utilities well placed in the middle of the site. Very easy to navigate through the park and to access from the interstate. Laundry room facilities. Nothing special, but a very nice stop for a night or two.. We camped at Lighthouse Landing RV Park and Cabins in a Fifth Wheel.

Hoosier/Hardin Ridge Recreation Area, Heltonville, Indiana

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful park in Hoosier National Forest. The sites are well separated by trees. Lots of shade. About half the sites have electric, a few with water. No sewers, but there is an easy access dump station that fits 2 RVs simultaneously. We have a 40' fifth wheel, and quite a few sites fit us in. Also, about half the campground is reservable, the other half is first come, first served. There is a nice beach, and a boat ramp for Lake Monroe in the park. Also 2 rustic cabins. Campground is kept very clean and hosts are great! We camped at Hoosier/Hardin Ridge Recreation Area in a Fifth Wheel.

29 Palms Golf Resort, Twentynine Palms, California

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is not my favorite kind of park, but it worked well for this stop. Having easy access to Joshua Tree State Park was our main goal. The park was easy in and out for our 40' fifth wheel. Lots of pull thrus. We also drive a car and had to pay extra $7 a day to have it here. It's a clean park, they pick up your garbage every morning, have a very large laundry room, 1.75 washers, $1.00 dryers. The park is pretty plain, esp where pull thrus are. Would stay here again if passing through, but not to stay any length of time.. We camped at 29 Palms Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Collier Memorial State Park, Chiloquin, Oregon

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here and really enjoyed it. Very pretty well maintained state park. Easy access from Hwy 97. They have several nice size sites that are back in and several pull throughs, though we wouldn't fit in but a couple of those because of the curve to the drive. Everything worked well with our FHU site. We would stay here again for a few days. We camped at Collier Memorial State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Mono Vista RV Park, Lee Vining, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a quiet older park. Pull thru is on gravel, but when you pull out, you drive through grass. Only problem might be if it was very wet. They ask you to only let dogs "go" in dog walk. Kind of hard to get puppy to hold it until we walk over to the specific area. No problems driving our 40' fifth wheel on their roads. We did have to unhook to keep vehicle off the grass. No problems though. We'd stay here again, but it seemed pricey. Hey, it's California, and choices were limited. We camped at Mono Vista RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Fender's River Road Resort, Needles, California

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

This a small park with a motel. There are about 6-7 pull through sites near the entrance. Word of caution, these sites require you to be close to the motel to pull through your site. No problem early in the day, but if you are coming in later, like after 4pm, it could be difficult getting into your spot because of the cars that will park in front of their motel rooms. Also there are about 6 sites right down on the Colorado river that have a very nice view. Not big rig friendly though. We enjoyed this little park and would stay again. We camped at Fender's River Road Resort in a Fifth Wheel.
