Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA, Gaffney, South Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This a large, quiet RV park located not far from I-85. Check in was easy with an escort to our site. Interior roads are in good condition. Nearly all of the sites are FHU. The older section has smaller back-in sites under well trimmed pine trees. There is a newer section with open, gravel, pull-through sites. Then there is the deluxe area with very long and wide paved pull-through sites with a patio and table and chairs. There is a large fenced dog park and lots of open green space and trails for walking and running a large dog. Bathrooms and showers were clean and modern. We camped at Spartanburg NE / Gaffney KOA in a Motorhome.

Forsyth KOA, Forsyth, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park conveniently located near I-75, but road noise was not a problem. Check in was easy with escort to our site. There is also a nice camp store in the office. Interior roads are narrow but paved and in good condition. The park is on a couple of gently rolling hills so the sites are terraced. Nearly all of the sites are FHU, pull-through, on gravel or dirt. Most are under tall, well-trimmed pine trees but one section is open. Bathrooms and laundry are dated but clean. WiFi is free for 30 minutes, then a $5 fee. There is a small dog park but enough green space for walking a large dog. The price is reasonable for the amenities provided and this park worked well for an overnight stop. We camped at Forsyth KOA in a Motorhome.

Big Oak RV Park, Tallahassee, Florida

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This is an older RV park located just a few miles from I-10 and right off highway 27, so it is easy to get to. Office staff was friendly and efficient. Roads are gravel and sites are sand/dirt. There are both pull-through and back-in sites. Most are in the shade under beautiful live oak trees, but there are about 8 long pull-through open sites for short stays. The bathrooms and laundry room are clean and adequate. There is green space along one side of the park for a short walk with the dog. We camped at Big Oak RV Park in a Motorhome.

Coastal Georgia RV Resort, Brunswick, Georgia

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park located conveniently to I-95, but with minimal road noise. All of the roads are wide and paved and in good condition. All of the sites are paved, angled, long, level, with FHU, and adequately spaced. The center sites are pull-through with back-ins along the perimeter. Check in was easy. Bathrooms and laundry room are clean and modern. There is a large pool and playground, a medium sized fenced dog park, and a very nice large pavilion. We camped at Coastal Georgia RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Houghton Lake Travel Park, Houghton Lake, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

For us this RV Park worked very well for an overnight stay. It is convenient to the freeway but far enough away that there was no road noise. Check in was easy and they have a small camp store. Roads are gravel and easy to navigate. All sites are level, grass, pull-through, with various amounts of shade and hookups. We had a FHU, 50 amp, satellite friendly site with easy entrance and exit. All utilities including WiFi worked well. The campground is quiet and well-maintained. There was lots of green space all around for walking a large dog. This was convenient for an overnight but would also be comfortable for a long stay. We camped at Houghton Lake Travel Park in a Motorhome.

Nice RV park located one mile from I-94 and just off the highway. Easy check in and escort to site. Interior roads and sites are gravel. There are both back-in and pull-through sites with a variety of hook-ups and all are level. Most sites are shady but there are a few near the entrance that are open and satellite friendly. Bathrooms and laundry room were modern and clean. There is a fenced dog park and lots of green space for walking a dog. We camped at Bismarck KOA in a Motorhome.

Miles City KOA, Miles City, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Be sure to use exit # 135 from I-94, the west side of town, due to low clearance in town. This is a pleasant RV park located convenient to the freeway and on the edge of town. Check-in was friendly and efficient with an escort to our site. All sites are gravel, level, FHU, pull-through, under well trimmed shade trees. Length of sites varies. All utilities including WiFi worked well. Bathrooms and laundry were clean. There is a fenced dog park and lots of green space for walking a large dog. We camped at Miles City KOA in a Motorhome.

Bearmouth Chalet RV Park , Clinton, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

A small, basic RV park located conveniently to I-90, with lots of road noise in the daytime but not bad at night. Roads are gravel and in good condition. Sites are mostly pull-through, gravel, level and some are very long. W/E-50 amp, with a dump station available. There was not good river access but there was plenty of green space for walking a large dog. The cost was the cash price with a Good Sam discount. There was an extra fee for using a credit card. Worked well for an overnight stop. We camped at Bearmouth Chalet RV Park in a Motorhome.

Yellowstone RV Park, Gardiner, Montana

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

This is small, basic RV park located close to Gardiner and the north entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is between Hwy 89 and the Yellowstone river, but there was no road noise. The price is high due to its location. Roads are gravel and in good condition. Sites are also gravel, level, close together, with a small patch of dried grass in between, and of moderate length, with FHU and 30 or 50 amp. The utilities all worked well although the WiFi was slow. There are back-in sites along the river and pull-through sites in the middle. The bathhouses and laundry were clean and conveniently located. There is no river access and very little space to walk a large dog. It is okay for a short stay. We camped at Yellowstone RV Park in a Motorhome.

Hood Park - COE, Pasco, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $7.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very pretty and spacious COE park located along the Snake River/Wallula Lake. The roads and sites are paved and in good condition. Sites are back-in or pull-thru (semi-circle pull-off) of various lengths and levelness, with large grassy areas in between and lots of trimmed shade trees. There is only electricity at the campsite but there is a large convenient dump station and water spigots are available. It was very quiet here mid-week. The price includes our federal senior pass discount. We camped at Hood Park - COE in a Motorhome.

Shady Firs RV Park & Campground, Randle, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small private campground located on US-12, which we used as a base camp for visiting Mt. Ranier. This is the cash price. There are only a few campsites, both pull-through and back-in. All are on grass and under well-trimmed shady fir trees. The grass is kept watered so it is green and not dusty and the shade was welcome during the unusually hot weather. Bathrooms and laundry are dated but functional. We had only W/E but a dump station was available. We camped at Shady Firs RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Silver Cove Resort, Silverlake, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $52.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park located a few miles from I-5 and on the road to Mt St Helens. Roads are paved. Camp sites are gravel, FHU, mostly back-in with a few pull-through, and arranged in clusters with large natural tree and grass areas in between. So there is lots of road and green space for a long walk or exercising a large dog. Utilities worked fine. The WiFi worked only at the lodge and my Verizon phone and data did not work at all. This is a nice enough campground but way over-priced. We camped at Silver Cove Resort in a Motorhome.

Maryhill State Park, Goldendale, Washington

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large state park with a campground, huge day use area, and a boat ramp. Unlike years past, the grass is being watered and is green and everything was kept clean and tidy. There was no one at the ranger station the day we arrived but we were able to find a campsite at the last minute. Sites are gravel, back-in or a semi-circle pull-off, level, and some with FHU and 30/50 amp. Some are shady, some open, and some are next to the Columbia river with river access. There is lots of space for walking. We camped at Maryhill State Park in a Motorhome.

Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park, Pendleton, Oregon

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park close to I-84 and next to the casino. Roads are paved and wide enough. Back-in sites are around the perimeter and pull-through sites are in the middle rows. Some sites are paved but most are gravel, level, fairly close together, and of moderate length with FHU and 30/50 amps. Bathrooms, laundry and a small pool are located only at the office. There is green space along the outside of the park to walk a dog. There is a shuttle to the casino but it is within walking distance. This is an adequate place to stay but it seems expensive for a casino. We camped at Wildhorse Resort and Casino RV Park in a Motorhome.

Carmela RV Park, Glenns Ferry, Idaho

Date of Stay: July, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small RV park located right across the street from the winery and restaurant. The road and sites are gravel and dry and dusty in July. Sites are pull-through and of various lengths with FHU but only 30 amp and it can be very hot in the summer. We enjoyed the wine tasting and some were very good. The restaurant/bar food was average. The winery is up for sale but hopefully this location will stay open. We camped at Carmela RV Park in a Motorhome.
