Huggy Bear Campground, Van Wert, Ohio

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very large RV park with mostly seasonal campers in a variety of large trailers, fifth-wheels and park models. There are many large, level pull-through sites with FHU's in the new section for short term stays. Unfortunately you have to drive through the cramped older part to get to the new area. Check in was quick and they have a nice store. There are lots of activities including 2 fishing ponds, 2 swimming pools, a splash pad, and many other things. Bathrooms and laundry room were clean. The whole park is well kept up. All of the roads and sites are gravel. We camped at Huggy Bear Campground in a Motorhome.

Camp Turkeyville RV Resort, Marshall, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

A great RV park located just off I-69 but very quiet. Large back-in and pull-through sites, gravel, full-hookups, modern and clean bathrooms, showers and laundry room. Two pools, a playground and so on. It is all open - no shade so satellite works great but it could be hot in the summer on a sunny day. Wifi also works well. Lots of green space for walking a dog. Friendly office staff and everything is in good condition. We camped at Camp Turkeyville RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Lakeshore Park Campground, Saint Ignace, Michigan

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice, smaller campground with a great location close to St. Ignace and right across the road from Lake Michigan, with its own small, rocky beach. Sites in the front row are close together and have a great view of the lake. The other sites are long pull-through, gravel and grass, and all have full hookups. Wifi was often weak. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room were large and clean. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. A great place to stay. We camped at Lakeshore Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Sault Ste.Marie KOA, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have experienced in our 10 years of RV'ing. It is convenient to Hwy 17 but is very quiet. Everything is well organized and well maintained. Check-in was friendly and efficient and we were escorted to our site. We were in a W/E 30 amp site that was still plenty big enough for our 37 ft motorhome and tow car. Sites will accommodate anything from tents to big rigs. Roads and sites are gravel and easy to maneuver around even with lots of trimmed trees. Bathrooms, showers and laundry room were modern and very clean. There were also extra amenities like an RV wash station, a nice dog wash station, and compressed air available at the dump station. There is a fenced dog area and dog trails through the woods. This is a gem of a park and we would be glad to stay here anytime. We camped at Sault Ste.Marie KOA in a Motorhome.

Wawa RV Resort and Campground, Wawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This seems to be an older campground (not a resort) that has not kept up with today's larger RVs. Check-in was friendly and efficient and the wifi usually worked well. The sites are short and narrow, very close together, and surrounded by trees. Our first site was in a gully with deep mud ruts. Since rain was in the forecast we were concerned about getting stuck so we asked for a different site. They kindly moved us to a site that was high and dry. There was water and 30 amp power, but the voltage was so low at 103 volts that we had to unplug the coach both in the evening and in the morning. They are in the process of updating the power. Roads and sites were dirt and muddy after the rain. A few loads of gravel would be helpful. There was a fire ring but previous campers had left their garbage in it. That was the case for several fire rings. I don't know why campers do this as I certainly don't want to burn somebody else's plastic bottles and Solo drink cups, and the dumpster was nearby. There was a very small, outdated laundry room with two washers and dryers. There were toilets by the laundry and pool that were dirty from overuse. I did not check out the showers. We camped at Wawa RV Resort and Campground in a Motorhome.

Rainbow Falls Provincial Park, Rossport, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

Rainbow Falls Provincial Park has two separate campgrounds, Whitesands Lake and Rossport. This review is for the Rossport campground which is right by Lake Superior. This is a small campground located right off TCH-17. The sites are large, open, well-defined back-in sites with 30 amp electricity on gravel and grass. There are also dry camping sites. Water is available but the dump station is located at the Whitesands Lake campground a few miles down the road. The bathrooms and showers were clean and there was a small laundry room with one washer and dryer. The shared electric posts are in odd places and you may need a long extension cord. There is a beautiful rocky beach and the view of Lake Superior is stunning. The campground is sandwiched between highway 17 and train tracks and the lake so there is some road noise, but the view more than makes up for the noise. We camped at Rainbow Falls Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Fort William Historical Park RV Park, Thunder Bay, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is actually just a row of RV utility posts with 30 amp electricity and water for 10 RVs located on the Fort William grounds just beyond the parking lot. There are also 8 travel trailers for rent and a few dry camping sites. A sewer dump station is nearby and the toilets and showers are in a trailer. Check-in is inside the fort visitor center. Even though it is not really a campground it is a comfortable and quiet place to stay for a few days. The grounds are a huge grassy field so there is plenty of space to walk and exercise a large dog. The electricity and water were good and the wifi worked very well. The fort is a re-creation of the largest fur trading fort in the world in 1816. It is very well done and is worth at least a full day. We camped at Fort William Historical Park RV Park in a Motorhome.

Grand Portage Lodge and Casino, Grand Portage, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $37.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is a large, open, grassy field located above the harbor and near the casino and trading post. The sites are spacious and all have FHU. The bathrooms are clean and there is a very small laundry with one washer and dryer. We had no Verizon cell phone service and poor wifi. The trading post is a well stocked mini-mart and gas station with diesel, a credit union, and a post office. Good for an overnight. We camped at Grand Portage Lodge and Casino in a Motorhome.

Grand Marais RV Park & Campground, Grand Marais, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large, busy campground (not a resort) with a wonderful location right on Lake Superior and the harbor and right next to downtown. The sites range in size from tent to big-rig and are fairly close together. We were lucky and got a pull-through with FHU and 50 amp. Wifi is available only by the office but they tell you that up front. Office staff is friendly and helpful. Our closeby neighbors were all also friendly and we had fun visiting. Downtown is close enough to walk to and has several interesting tourist shops and restaurants. We camped at Grand Marais RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Burlington Bay Campground, Two Harbors, Minnesota

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

First of all, this is a campground not a resort. As others have said, it has two parts, a newer area that easily fits larger RVs and the older part with smaller sites. We were in site 99 with a 37 ft motorhome and we fit fine. This was in a small area of 11 sites where half were on a hill above the lake with a beautiful view and the others were near the highway with a partial lake view. There was road noise in the daytime but it was quiet at night. The Wifi worked well most of the time! The sites in the older section are gravel and grass and of various sizes, levelness, and spaciousness. Some are full hookup and some are only water and electric. This is a good place to stay for a few days while exploring the Two Harbors area. We camped at Burlington Bay Campground in a Motorhome.

Grand Casino Hinckley RV Resort, Hinckley, Minnesota

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV park near the Grand Casino Hinckley and convenient to I-35. All sites are back-in, paved, FHU, picnic table and fire ring, and grass in between. There is lots of green space for walking a large dog. It has a large pool with modern and clean bathrooms, showers, and laundry room. You get a 15% discount with a casino players card. The casino shuttle runs frequently and there is also a path if you want to walk. Check in was friendly and efficient. We camped at Grand Casino Hinckley RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Amana Colonies RV Park, Amana, Iowa

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice, large RV park located very close to Amana and the other colonies. I estimated the price as we stayed with a rally and I do not know the exact nightly rate. The sites are long and level, open with no shade, grass with gravel, full hookups, and with 20/30/50 amp. Sites are back to back so can be used as a back-in or pull-through if no one else is there first. Some sites are close together and others are very spacious with a picnic table and fire ring and lots of room to have friends over for a fire. There is no pool nor playground nor fenced dog area, but there is lots of green space for walking a large dog. It is also close to a bike/hike trail around Lily Pond. This a a great location for visiting the Amana colonies and the President Hoover Museum. We camped at Amana Colonies RV Park in a Motorhome.

Fort Chiswell RV Park, Max Meadows, Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

A great, fairly basic RV park located convenient to I-81 and a Flying J but still very quiet and peaceful. All pull-through sites, FHU, gravel or concrete pad with a picnic table, either sun or shade. Bathrooms, laundry, and a game room are all modern and clean. Easy and friendly check-in. Lots of grassy areas for walking a large dog. Easy in and out so good for an overnight but nice enough for a longer stay. I wish there were more campgrounds like this along our interstate highways. We camped at Fort Chiswell RV Park in a Motorhome.

Bean Pot Campground, Crossville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

Older campground that was built when RVs were smaller and did not have slides. However, it is pretty and well kept, lots of trees which are trimmed. Mostly pull- through, gravel, level sites with FHU. However, if you have a large RV you should call ahead to be sure there is a site that is long enough. Office staff was very friendly and helpful. It is convenient to the freeway but very quiet and secluded. Good for an overnight especially at the PA rate, which is cash only. We camped at Bean Pot Campground in a Motorhome.

Agricenter International RV Park, Memphis, Tennessee

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is a good RV park to stay in for an overnight or a few days while visiting Memphis. It is close to I-40 and shops and restaurants. The sites are all pull-through, FHU, in the open, with gravel and dirt. They vary in length and closeness. The sites are just very basic, but the AgriCenter complex is well kept and huge with a farmers market and lots else going on. There is lots of green space for walking a large dog. Check in went well with the friendly on-site host. As advised, we used the Germantown Road entrance. We camped at Agricenter International RV Park in a Motorhome.
