North Park Campground, Dickinson, North Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Very large RV park. Nicely laid out. Lots of room to maneuver. Super friendly staff. Short-term stay rigs well separated from long-term stay folks. Very clean in appearance even though the roads are dirt/gravel. You can tell they are trying to make a lot of improvements. The WiFi was very strong. The OTA TV was good. Our site was extremely long, so we did not have to unhook from trailer and still had lots of extra space. Far enough from the freeway to eliminate freeway noise. Close enough to the freeway to make getting here easy. We'd definitely stay here again. We camped at North Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Days End Campground, Sturgis, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large RV park that probably best serves the "biker" community during the Sturgis Rally. The sites are basic and there's a lot of highway noise. Our site was basically crushed rock with lots of weeds. The site was narrow, but super long. No privacy at all because of the narrow spaces and there's no fence or trees or anything to separate you from the road. So you're really exposed. The Wifi was really weak, even at 5 AM. This park is OK for one night if you're passing through, only because it's cheap and easy to get to. But don't plan on an enjoyable stay. Think "gravel highway rest stop." The cable TV was not useful to us as it must come out of Canada or somewhere; there was very limited local/U.S. networks (e.g. lots of soccer, no football). We're not "bikers" and we're not heavy drinkers. Seems like Sturgis is all about big bars, and the bars aren't even old rustic historical places. They are huge, fairly new, bars built to look old. So wandering the streets and enjoying the history (including the old-time bars), small shops, art galleries, wasn't really to level we had hoped for. We were disappointed in what Sturgis had to offer. We camped at Days End Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Creekside Mountain RV Park, Hill City, South Dakota

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

Best park I've stayed at on this trip from Seattle to North Dakota. It's small and simple. But it's clean and beautiful, and all the utilities work perfectly. The host/owner is a delight and very helpful. Because we have a small trailer, we stayed in the back of the park...other side of the fields and stream. It was quiet and a beautiful setting. We were by ourselves in this part of the park so our dog could run free in the fields. It would be nice to have TV, but the setting is so beautiful that we didn't miss it. The location to town (Hill City), Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Custer is perfect. We camped at Creekside Mountain RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Seeing the Crazy Horse Memorial was impressive. It's not just about the rock carving, it's about representation of a people. The museum is fantastic and the performances and artist are excellent.

Indian Campground & RV Park, Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

I can't believe I'm at the same RV park that other's rated so high. I've always counted on the accuracy of RVParksReview, but this time, I am so disappointed. The place is an old, run-down RV park that is dirty and full of gnats. The roads are dirt. The RV sites are dirt.

It has a very run-down appearance. I will say that it was probably a very nice place a few years ago and the office is nice. But now it's grounds "tired" looking and in desparate need of grounds maintenance. It rained a little while we were there and the mud puddles were huge and everywhere. It's just an old, tired, RV Park.

I also experienced other "less than desirable" things...like bugs. There were so many gnats that I couldn't sit outside and enjoy a glass of wine. Within two minutes, you're covered in gnats. In fact, my wife took a picture of my shirt covered in gnats so that they could see that I wasn't trying to be a jerk. They just smiled.

I made reservations months ago. Confirmed my reservation a few days before arriving. Got here and they couldn't find it. They got me in, no problem as they were less than 1/4 full, but they over billed me. When I asked why, they just said "whoops" and then got an attitude with me and put me in the worsted bug infested part of the park. It was so covered in gnats during the setup of my rig, I quit to see if I could go to another site. I was nice, but I got a lot of attitude from the man signing me in so he moved me...to the dumpsters, by the freeway, next to the dog park. I feel like telling everybody that I see entering the park to turn around.

Between the flurry of gnats, run down park, and an owner with a bad attitude, there is no way I can recommend this park to anybody. We camped at Indian Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Castle Air Museum RV Park, Atwater, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This was VERY disappointing, for many reasons. Planned a stay here because I'm a USAF Vet and I wanted to spend some time in the museum and maybe visit with other Vets. My expectations were too high. The park is not close enough to walk to the museum. Nothing is close by, except the trains that blow their loud whistles constantly and the Google Research center with frequent sirens. Had to be the noisiest RV park I've ever stayed in. The park is self is a blacktop parking lot where you have to back in. There are only half a dozen true "full hook up sites" and the camp host decides who gets them. If you choose to hook up to water and electricity (50 amp only), you still pay for the full hook up rate of $35. Your other choice is dry camping. There are no services here. Many long term RVs that have seen better days. I would not recommend this to anyone. If you want to see the museum, stay somewhere else. You're going to have to drive to it anyway. We camped at Castle Air Museum RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Catalina Spa RV Resort, Desert Hot Springs, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This park is primarily a "snow-bird" park which consists of mainly large RVs, not park models. So we felt like our rig fit in nicely with the others. The park is in really good shape and offers many things. The only negative things are: (1) the first impression (the office is terrible), and (2) the location (like all parks in this area, you're a long ways from anything). But we liked it a lot, especially for the price, and we stayed here on two separate occasions. Nice shade and wind blocks. We camped at Catalina Spa RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Bear Mountain RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

Excellent place to pull over for 1 night. The park is easy to get to and navigating the park is also easy. It's a "basic" park with no extras (e.g., pool, etc), but you're only paying $27. It was quiet and clean, and we felt safe. Large, level RV sites. No shade. We camped at Bear Mountain RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Southern Oregon RV Park (Jackson County Park), Central Point, Oregon

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very nice RV Park. A little expensive, considerng no cable TV and weak Wifi. But nice grounds. RV pads are black top and not exactly level. Most folks have to level side-to-side and bring the front way up. Roads are easy. Overall a nice setting and great for a short stop. Midway RV Park, Centralia, Washington

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here one night on our way from Seattle to Southern CA. We were thrilled to find a nice, clean, safe RV park. It was wonderful. Lots of long-term folks, but things were kept nice. Everything was wonderful. Easy access from I-5 and nice gas stations coming/going to/from RV park. We camped at Midway RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Pine Near RV Park, Winthrop, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The best thing about this park is the location to Winthrop. You're right next to the museum and an easy walk to town. There is also very few "long-term" folks there and they tend to keep their area looking good. The staff was very friendly during check-in. The "not-so-good" part is the grounds and lack of security. Grass sites are pretty, but not so good for RVing....track grass in (no mats allowed), wet after the water, easily turns to mud or gets slick after heavy dew or watering. Also, the roads are dirt. The sites can be difficult to get in to and many aren't very level. No security. Many local residents use their laundry facility and are therefore going in and out all day and night (laundry is open 24 hrs). So you get folks driving rough cars through the park all the time. We never left anything out. We camped at Pine Near RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort, Othello, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful park. The only negatives are: sites are gravel and uneven, their WiFi is poor, and no TV at all. But the sites are large and has lots of grass, picnic tables, etc. Large shade trees. Excellent pool, club house, spa, exercise room, etc. Close to the lake. A gas station with small store is right at the park entrance. So, overall, a very nice place to vacation or just stop for a few quiet nights. We camped at O'Sullivan Sportsman Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Port Ludlow RV Park, Port Ludlow, Washington

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This was a great RV park until the managers turned daily operations over to their grown kids. Now it's getting run down. Too many long term rigs that aren't kept up. Sign posts are rotting and too many weeds from neglect. Too bad. It was once wonderful. We camped at Port Ludlow RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tri City RV Park, Myrtle Creek, Oregon

Overall Rating:

Nice little RV park. Great for a 1 or 2 night stay while traveling the I-5 corridor. Strong wifi. Good cable TV. Good dog run area. Quiet. The only negatives, and they are minor, is: gravel RV pad, 50% long-term RVers (though well maintained), and not much to do in the immediate area. We camped at Tri City RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Almond Tree RV Park, Chico, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $43.00
Overall Rating:

This is a really nice little RV park. No long-term, blue tarps. Quiet. Good Shade trees. Grass. Picnic tables. Strong WiFi. Good cable TV. The only negatives are that the site is gravel and the laundry room is very small (2 washers and 1 working dryer). The road is paved. You have a nice grass strip next to your RV. But your RV is on gravel. The sites are quite long and plenty wide. Will stay here again. We camped at Almond Tree RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Happy Traveler RV Park, Palm Springs, California

Date of Stay: April, 2017 - $55.00
Overall Rating:

I agree with some of the other posts. This is not a friendly RV park. The full-timers won't even move their vehicles out of the way in order help you get your rig parked. The front office also keeps pretty short/weird hours (e,g, closed at 11 am on Sunday). Then, lastly, their wifi is really minimal. If you go to their pool, sit poolside, you may get a weak but usable signal. They have good cable TV service, but you have to ask for a converter box at the office.....they don't offer it up. Not bad, until you consider the strange office the office keeps. So, once you have everything figured out and get in to your space (too tight for large rigs), then the park is great. The best things about this space is privacy and location; you're fairly close to old town Palm Springs. So all in all its' a nice, old RV park. If they'd make a few minor changes this park could easily be a 9 or 10. I'll come back again. We camped at Happy Traveler RV Park in a Travel Trailer.
