Lake Corpus Christi State Park, Mathis, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Rate is for FHUs but doesn't include $10. park entry fee. Our first stay here was 2 years ago & we were here for the second time for an overnight on our way to South Padre Island from Austin. Crowded park but plenty of room for 35' Coach & tow without unhooking. Was able to get satellite by pulling to very front of site even tho some trees on site. #36 is in the Javelina Loop & has semi-circle pull-thrus. Our site had a covered picnic table on concrete area. Very pretty park with lake and picnic tables all along it. We camped at Lake Corpus Christi State Park in a Motorhome.

Oak Forest RV Park, Austin, Texas

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second time staying here & things seemed a little worse. The park is still nice scenery wise but they have expanded quite a bit and used all the treed open space picturesque area which gave this park its beauty. Trash pickup was spotty with bags of trash left for days at sites. Laundry room was locked closed with sign on door saying dryers didn't work. Also 2 of the 4 restrooms were out of order. Fitness room seemed a little worse for wear with no way to clean & disinfect equipment after use. There are also no security measures at this park. I will say however that my husband asked the office if they could trim some branches so they wouldn't scrape the top of the coach upon exiting & they did so. Might return if I hear they got their act together. We camped at Oak Forest RV Park in a Motorhome.

Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA), Van Horn, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects GS discount. This a scruffy park full of burrs. Stay off the grass at all cost or you'll be tracking them in all through your coach. Glad we don't have pets! That said it is easy access to I-10. Stayed in the back row in G3 which cg map said was 110'. Plenty of room for coach & toad without unhooking. Came in while office was closed & note said to go ahead & pick a spot. Was pricey for this this type park. They do have a cafe that will deliver to site. We camped at Van Horn RV Park (formerly Van Horn KOA) in a Motorhome.

Stadium RV Park & Mobile Home (AKA Sonora RV Park & MH & Cabin Rentals, Sonora, Texas

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

First off, customer service is exceptional! Manager comes out and guides you into the park after a call from the exit. It looks pretty run down as you follow him through mobile homes and trailers. This is basic bare bones - no restrooms - just for an overnight. It is just a small dirt lot but has full hookups with 50 amps which you pull alongside. Also had a courtesy sewer hose at utilities. Cash or check is needed. It was safe, quiet, and easy in & out being 1 mile from I-10. We camped at Stadium RV Park & Mobile Home (AKA Sonora RV Park & MH & Cabin Rentals in a Motorhome.

Las Cruces KOA, Las Cruces, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $49.00
Overall Rating:

Paid for a premium site (#12) which was pull-in with a beautiful view of the Organ Mountains & site had a concrete picnic table. Tow barely fit behind coach & had to be parked to the side so as not to block neighbor's site. Don't think price was worth it. Park is gravel mixed with dirt. No fitness room. Staff not very welcoming - even tho park was not full & we were told our site had not been used the night before, staff made sure to let us know we were checking in too early. Too windy & cold to enjoy outdoors so we were off without hiking Dripping Springs. We camped at Las Cruces KOA in a Motorhome.

Manzano's RV Park, Silver City, New Mexico

Date of Stay: January, 2018 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This a very cozy picturesque small gravel rv park which we used as an overnight stop from Tucson to Las Cruces. Beautiful views of the mountains which we had from our dinette out our left side windows. We had site 5 which is a pull thru but only fit our 35' coach & had to unhook toad. Office has an inviting porch with rocking chairs. Inside is set up as a homey living room with comfy furniture & movie and book libraries The owner & her husband are lovely people who showed us to our site & remained until we were all hooked up & settled in. Excellent customer service! Cash is necessary tender. Unfortunately our satellite TV didn't work but we got local channels - there is no cable. Only drawback is the bumpy dirt Flury Road to CG. Must go SLOW! Would definitely return. We camped at Manzano's RV Park in a Motorhome.

San Diego Metro KOA, Chula Vista, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects highest rate charged during our week stay with KOA discount. We were also charged two other rates. I really have an issue with rate increases on weekends. First impressions: this park has way too many cabins of every configuration for rent. This really swells the population on the weekends and makes a tight park even tighter. Since they rent all kinds of crazy bikes, there were oodles of kids zipping around the park, cutting through empty sites and dodging people walking around. After it emptied out on Sunday, the park was much more pleasant. Our site (1516) is considered a preferred plus site and was long enough for 35' coach & tow car. However site was not very wide & was somewhat cramped with picnic table. No privacy hedge between sites but small patch of grass. Very close to neighbor. These sites are at the back of the park with an interior road behind & then a fenced in rv storage area. Was glad to be back there out of the busy fray of the main area of the park. Very tight interior roads; took some maneuvering to exit since many sites have parking for vehicles in the road. Very fastidious landscaping crew; always attending to the greenery. Shower stalls show wear & tear but were clean, tiled and adequate. Have to leave shower & go into restroom to blow dry hair. Pool was dirty with leaves and threadbare loungers. Mixed feelings on whether we'd return, but maybe after construction is complete we would try again. We camped at San Diego Metro KOA in a Motorhome.

Rancho Jurupa Park, Riverside, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

Absolutely one of the prettiest parks we have ever stayed in. Beautifully landscaped; trees dotting the park and wide open grassy areas. Wide asphalt interior roads and spacious sites with plenty of room between neighbors. Pull-thru site had plenty of room for 35' coach and tow without unhooking. Our site(207) was on the end with a big grassy area on one side. Was also satellite friendly. Used this as a stopover from Bakersfield to San Diego. Wished we could have stayed longer. A bit off the highway but well worth it. We camped at Rancho Jurupa Park in a Motorhome.

Moss Landing KOA Express, Moss Landing, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $67.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam discount - beware this cg raises its rate from Thurs to Sun. I think if you come in before Thurs they should charge you just one rate. Small, bare bones, tight park. Very concerned with total lack of security. Right across from our site (16) was the laundry building & a latch gate shared with the marina next door. Easy access to cg for transients roaming around. All sites are backins - super close to neighbors. Had to park tow car at a diagonal in front of coach to fit in site. Interior roads are asphalt & pads concrete with picnic table. Wifi pretty much nonexistent. Only two restroom/shower combo rooms. While they were clean, they are in need of updating (linoleum floors, fiberglass shower inserts, plaster walls). There were 2 big rubber mats on floor & rooms were spacious. Staff was friendly & professional- needed to adjust my dates & they were accommodating. There are not many parks in the Monterey area & this one is about 30 -33 min from Monterey which has much to offer. If we did return, we would make sure we were in the last row of the park. We camped at Moss Landing KOA Express in a Motorhome.

Wine Country RV Resort, Paso Robles, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $66.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam discount. Very disappointed in this park. Very overpriced for this time of year and site given. We had #193 which is in the lower park & could barely fit our 35ft coach. We faced the trash corral & the real problem was the exit. The gentleman next to us was very worried about making the turn to exit so my husband had to help him out. Thank goodness the site behind us was empty so we could backup into it to make the turn to leave the next morning. We told them how long the coach was, but staff insisted in squeezing us into a too small site. Even though it is a pretty park, we would not return. We camped at Wine Country RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bakersfield RV Resort, Bakersfield, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam discount for pull thru site. Site (173) was on end across from fitness room and restroom/showers which encouraged me to try them. Site is packed sand (muddy when it rained) with concrete pad & picnic table. I have to chime in with all previous posters - this is a lovely park. Well maintained; escort to site, onsite restaurant that will deliver to site; nice restrooms and many clean tiled showers stalls with a door & dressing area with bench; nearby to: post office, Albertsons grocery store, Camping World (same street) & Super Walmart. Stayed here as a stopover from Death Valley to Monterey & will definitely stay again on return trip. We camped at Bakersfield RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stovepipe Wells Village RV Park (Concessionaire Operated), Death Valley National Park, California

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $33.00
Overall Rating:

Stayed here 4 nights visiting park. As previous posters have stated, this is a giant gravel parking lot behind the Stovepipe Village General Store with 14 pull thru FHU sites in a row side by side. Not a lot of room between sites but was able to put out 4 slides with no problem. Large Area in front of these sites is for no hookups. Checkin is at Inn across the street. Must pay entrance fee to NP ($25) at Ranger Station right before cg entrance. This cg no longer accepts any NP passes for discounts. You are away from the hub bub of Furnace Creek but still easy drive to popular hiking trails and scenic views. Inn across the street has a restaurant & bar. General Store has souvenirs and basic staples (for a price) & a soft serve ice cream machine. Beautiful night sky! Very quiet at night except one night some distant noise that sounded like fireworks which we were told was probably from "a military testing site." No wifi but cell service was fine & satellite friendly for TV. If you want full hookups this is as good place as any in DV. We camped at Stovepipe Wells Village RV Park (Concessionaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

LVM Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: February, 2017 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

Rate reflects Good Sam discount for a standard site. Stayed here 6 nights in late Jan. / early Feb. Beautifully landscaped park - truly a resort. This is RV living at its finest. Gorgeous clubhouse with resort style pool, fitness center & putting green behind it. Each area of the park has its own "satellite" pool (5 pools total). In the winter there are only two open & we were lucky that the one in our area (site 342) was open & heated. Even though this a predominately owner park, everyone was very friendly. I took the aqua aerobics classes (Tues & Thurs) and the delightful young man who led the class as well as the ladies were very welcoming. Restrooms, shower & laundry are at each pool area. Best shower I've ever experienced- immaculate, beautiful tile, & three shower heads. You must walk around the resort and see all the beautiful buildouts the owners have made on their sites and the landscaping to go with it. My only suggestion is that even though we had a standard site, for that price I believe they could supply a picnic table - there are no tables for the standard sites. Also no landscaping at our site so no privacy. Sites are all back-ins but wasn't a problem for our 35ft coach. Just follow the suggestion on easiest way to access site from checkin staff. Very safe & quiet - 24 hr manned gate. Was worth it to experience it once. We camped at LVM Resort in a Motorhome.

Desert Cypress Mobile Home & RV Park, Wickenburg, Arizona

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Used this park as a stopover on the way from Tucson to Las Vegas. Very well maintained and spotless although very compact. The mobile home section is very clean and properties are well taken care of. The RV section (newer section) is actually across the street, which is a public way, and a bit odd to have to cross to get to your site. The interior roads are all paved. The office staff is excellent and escorted us to our site. Also made sure we had a pull-thru since it was just an overnight. Had corner site (18R) which fit the coach and tow (just barely, but fit) without unhooking. Lots of "toys" here, but all were driven respectfully through park. Satellite friendly (they all are) but wifi was pretty much non-existent. Sites are close together but no problem with slides. For price, believe picnic table should be at sites, but no tables. Good place for a stopover. CASH is needed to pay (or check) - no cards accepted. We camped at Desert Cypress Mobile Home & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Used this park as stopover before Las Vegas. When we pulled in, the office was closed, but a nice gentleman was in a golf cart waiting at the entrance and proceeded to give us an envelope with our reservation & all the park info in it. It was very cold and windy (37) but he escorted us to our site and took time to make sure all the hookups were functioning and within reach. Very non-descript, gravel park but more than adequate. Picnic tables at each site. Saw some sites with gas grills as well. We were able to fit coach (35ft) and tow vehicle in pull thru (site 62) without unhooking. Satellite friendly site (they really all are) but wifi very spotty to non-existent. All kinds of shopping, restaurants are nearby. We camped at Kingman KOA in a Motorhome.
