Elks Lodge #1250, Red Bluff, California

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $18.00
Overall Rating:

Elks Members only. We stayed one night in our motor home. Good for an night. 30 amp electric/water pull-thru site which was slightly high in the front and we used blocks to level. There is a dump VERY noisy, as it is located next to I-5. Easy in from the interstate. Good Verizon. Able to get satellite. May not stay here again due to the noise level. We camped at Elks Lodge #1250 in a Motorhome.

Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort, Santa Barbara, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is one of the nicer Thousand Trails parks. It is built on the side of a hill, with the sites 'terraced'. The park has an interesting history and is a working horse ranch. Sites are flat. We had no trouble obtaining satellite. Verizon internet is sketchy, and a WiFi booster is needed. There is internet at the Adult Lodge. Verizon phone is okay. Sites are close, but manageable. Activities on the weekends, including great breakfasts on Fri, Sat, and Sun. Ice cream sundaes on Sat. afternoon. Nice pools and spa. Nice camp store. Dinner on Sat. is tasty, but a bit expensive. Staff are friendly and helpful. The down side of this park is the drive to it. It is located about 16 miles from Santa Barbara, uphill. The last mile into the park is a narrow road, but minimal traffic, so it is manageable. Scary the first time driving it, but better once you have done that last mile more than once. We will stay here again as the resort is close to Santa Barbara, Solvang, and many vineyards. We camped at Rancho Oso RV & Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in the area. Santa Barbara is 16 miles. Solvang is in the opposite direction on Hwy 154. Many vineyards to visit. Costco north of Santa Barbara. No Walmart in the area, but several grocery stores in Santa Barbara and Solvang. Breakfast at the park on weekend is excellent.

Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails, Acton, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large park. Checked reviews before arrival so we knew we needed to be in the "N" section for internet and satellite. We had Verizon4G in the "N" section. Internet is available through the park, but is limited by time and you have to sign up for an hour of service per day. We used our own Verizon internet. The "N" section is accessed by leaving the park and driving to a seperate entrance, as the bridge connection is no longer in use. The park has the usual Thousand Trail ammenities. We would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Soledad Canyon Park / Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails, Menifee, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This was our third time at the park and we will return in the future. The sites are flat and large enough for our 40 ft. motor home. The park has many amenities and weekend activities. We had a 50 amp, FHU site. Good Verizon WiFi and phone service. Easily obtained satellite service. We camped at Wilderness Lakes Preserve - Thousand Trails in a Motorhome.

Golden Village Palms RV Resort , Hemet, California

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here with a rally. This is a very nice park, but very expensive for what we were getting for the rally rate of $44 per night. Passport America rate is $28 per night, even in April. This is a resort with all the amenities, but the season ended on April 1, so there was not a lot going on at the park. The sites are level, but some are small length wise and side to side. Friends had trouble opening their slides due to bushes. Verizon signal was strong. The park WiFi worked well. Easily able to obtain satellite. My only complaint is the high price. We will not stay here again due to the cost. We camped at Golden Village Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Paradise RV Resort (55+ Resort), Sun City, Arizona

Date of Stay: October, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We like this park so much that we took an annual site. Verizon is excellent. Satellite and over the air TV perfect. Internet is available at the activity center, we chose to sign up for Jabba. Sites are flat and large with patios. Roads could be better as Encore desperately needs to put some money into the pavement, which is the reason for the 9. Electric and water are good. All sites are FHU. We have two dogs and stay in the pet section. Lots of activities and good location for visiting the area. We travel in a 40 ft. MH and will be returning. We camped at Paradise RV Resort (55+ Resort) in a Motorhome.

Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort, Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed under an Encore discount. This is a nice large park with primarily RV permanent sites, which are well maintained. Dirt roads, but no dust was thrown. Busy on the weekends, but quiet during the week. The staff were very nice and helpful. Location is excellent for visiting Sturgeon Bay. Located mid Door County. Easy travel north to Washington Island and south to Green Bay. Verizon varied. Unable to get satellite. FHU 50 amp site. We camped at Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Wolf River, Fremont, Wisconsin

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here under an Encore discount. A great place if you have kids. There is the pond with lots of geese, and the lake. A large swimming pool with a slide. Activities on the weekend. We had a 50 amp, W/E. Good Verizon and Direct TV. Located not too far from Appleton or Oshkosh for day trips. The laundry only had 1 washer and 1 dryer, so we went to laundromat in town. We would stay there again if in the area. We camped at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park, Wolf River in a Motorhome.

Enjoyed the Castle Museum in Appleton. They request that you not leave pets in the RV when not present, even if they do not bark. That was an inconvenience for us.

Overall Rating:

We stayed in the 50 amp, W/E overnight site with our Thousand Trails discount. The site was long an flat. Roads in the park are extremely narrow, and all one way. Uncomfortable driving through in the motor home. The park was mostly annual sites. People and staff were friendly. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Good satellite and Verizon. Lyon County Garvin Park , Marshall, Minnesota

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $15.00
Overall Rating:

This is a small county park with two campgrounds and a horsepark. The south campground has the dump station. Water is available at the horsepark. The roads are dirt, but well maintained. The sites in the south campground were long enough, but it was mostly full of families. The north campground only had one site long enough for our 40 ft MH. We had trouble leveling, but the sites are nice and it is not crowded. The campground was quiet. Good Verizon and Direct TV. We would stay here again. We camped at Lyon County Garvin Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed under our Encore discount. This is a nice place, but has n sewer. There is a dump station. W/E only, although we had 50 amp. We were able to get satellite and good Verizon. A bit of a drive to Wisconsin Dells, but doable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They have a fresh doughnuts on Fri, Sat, Sun which were very good. This is a small park in a front yard. Full hookup 50 amp, but no amenities. The owners were very nice and were helpful, but the park is overpriced for what you get. We liked this park and would stay there for several days. We were just passing through this trip. Staff were nice and very helpful. The park was clean and well maintained with new dirt fill in the roads. The park has new owners. It is located right off the interstate, so there is some noise, but it did not bother us. We had a large pull thru, 50 amp FHU with the PA rate. Site was flat. Good Verizon and Direct TV. We will stay here again. Price is reflective of Thousand Trails discount, of an earlybird 6 month discount. FHU 50 amp. Good Verizon and Direct TV. All amenities. Due to the monthly rate, electric and propane are extra.
