Rip Van Winkle Campground, Saugerties, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

Heavily wooded, unpaved roads. Don't be afraid because in a 40' class A we did fine. This is a great park with nice folks hosting and operating it. We are early in the season but would like to return again later in the season. We camped at Rip Van Winkle Campground in a Motorhome.

Falling Waters Campsite, Falling Waters, West Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2017 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

One night's stay. It was stormy, but quiet in the park for an excellent night's sleep. Staff was very polite and helpful. The road behind the building down to our campsite#2 looked intimidating but worked out just fine. We weren't comfortable pulling our 40' Class A into the spot, but it was easy enough to back in. No reservations! Made us nervous, but they appear Abe to accommodate anyone who shows up. No fancy amenities, wouldn't want to stay long term. We camped at Falling Waters Campsite in a Motorhome.

Heartland R. V. Park, Campbellsville, Kentucky

Date of Stay: December, 2016 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Convenient place for Camper Force at Amazon. Gravel parking, mostly level. Community house with lots of seating, large screen TV. Good laundry, 4 each washer dryers. Trash commonly over ran the dumpster and flowed to the ground. The wind spread it around the park. The staff complained about how much they worked and were not particularly friendly beyond the typical southern folk.

Don't expect much other than a quiet place to park while working at Amazon and you will not be disappointed. At best, this park is unsuitable for more than a one night stay or work camping. We camped at Heartland R. V. Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Brothers Cafe is a great place to get BBQ as well as other great dishes. The University has a lunch room open to the public and is a good value. Colten's Steak House serves up good meals at reasonable price. The town genuinely seemed to appreciate the Amazon seasonal camper force workers and the significant money they spend August through December. We shopped at Krogers. Walmart is also nearby.

The place is a "park-like" setting with lots of well cared for grass and mature trees. Most site have great shade. Sites have pic-nick bench/tables. Road is good gravel. Deer Lodge KOA, Deer Lodge, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The sites for pull through are long enough for 40' plus our large towed. They are close with grass strip between rigs. There is a nice river that runs next to park with Brown Trout. Quiet area. I would stay here again. Very nice staff and park is very well maintained. Small private restroom/showers are well maintained. The host was exceptional. We camped at Deer Lodge KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The cute town and all the fun stuff to see was walking distance from the RV Park if you are able to walk on level ground for 2 miles on side walks. The walk to Main Street is only 1/4 mile. The auto museum was worth the 10.00 but for that price you get to also tour the prison built in late 1800's and 3 other specialized museums. This is on one end of town. Kohrs Ranch State Park is on the other other end. This is a self guided tour of a living, working ranch. Golfing is also nearby.

Thompson's RV Park, Rexburg, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Great place to spend a few nights. Grounds are well kept. Mostly grass with a good gravel road through the small park. Price was with Passport America for 40' with 50A. I would stay here again. This is not a fancy resort, but is a nice well kept, clean, quiet place to relax. Maybe not worth $50 without PA discount, but with the discount, worth the $25 I paid. We camped at Thompson's RV Park in a Motorhome.

McCammon RV Park, Mccammon, Idaho

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

Generally an okay place to overnight with full hook-ups. We received a coupon for free breakfast (burrito) and coffee for my wife and I. Both were good. This takes the place of a club discount. Also offered $5 off on next stay (or second night).

The campgrounds needed TLC but it was clean. There are a couple of "long term-ers" with excess stuff. But only a few. The check-in was at a Chevron gas station on the property, it was 100 yards from the park, so little impact on noise. A train could be heard but no whistle and was not too close.

This is a great one or two night place to stay to see Lava Hot Springs. Cost half of other nearby parks. We camped at McCammon RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is an excellent little park close to Marfa. The park is self service but the owner is available by the phone number on the website. It is best to book on line. Caretaker on site but no assistance...but I didn't need any. Honor system washer and dryer. I just loved this place! We camped at Tumble In RV Park in a Motorhome.
