The Pines RV Campground, Tifton, Georgia

Date of Stay: April, 2018 - $27.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very small campground right off of Route 75. It is a perfect one night stop over for campers passing through. Park is clean with all pull-through sites. Sites are large enough for big rigs. There are new, clean restroom/showers and a small laundry room. There is nothing special about this little park but it is great for an overnight stay and there is good shopping and many restaurants close. We camped at The Pines RV Campground in a Motorhome.

Boardman Marina Park, Boardman, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $26.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful park on the shore of the Columbia River. The grounds are well manicured with shade and green grass. Views of the river are exceptional. The sites are all back-ins with some big enough for big rigs. Full hookups at site with pretty decent WiFi. There is a marina, boat ramp, dump station, and playground. There is a little road and train noise but not bad at all. A very nice, quiet park to relax and enjoy the view. We camped at Boardman Marina Park in a Motorhome.

Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts), Newport, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $100.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful motor coach resort on the shore of the Pacific Ocean. It is a very clean, well-manicured facility. The sites are spacious, with most either surfaced with concrete or pavers. The roads are paved and easy to navigate. The resort has gated access to enhance security. The utilities worked well except for the Wi-Fi which was nonexistent. When we checked in we were told to go to the clubhouse or office if we needed Wi-Fi. This is not acceptable, especially at this very high priced motor coach resort. They need to spend some of their inflated rental fees on a good high speed Wi-Fi system and make it available throughout the park.

Beach access is down a moderately steep long path with steps along the way. It is fairly easy to get down but not at all easy to walk back up. It is not handicapped accessible.

For those who are not familiar with the Oregon coast be warned, it is not a warm area. We were surprised to find that daytime temps in the summer average around 60 - 65 degrees with strong winds blowing most of the day. It is also very foggy many days. Don't expect to be able to sit out on the beach in your swim suit and relax. You need at least a light jacket almost every day throughout the summer. We camped at Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort (Formerly Outdoor Resorts) in a Motorhome.

Musicland Kampground, Branson, Missouri

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

This is a nice campground in the heart of Branson. Service at check-in was very good with a very friendly staff. The "pull in"site was level and made up of gravel. It was just long enough for our motorhome but the car had to go next to the site. The campground is hilly and roads are just a bit tight but not a problem for our 42 ft motorhome. The utilities including WiFi worked well. The campground offers discounts to the many shows available in Branson and you can purchase the tickets right in the office. The staff was great and recommended shows and explained the shows we asked about. Overall a nice place to stay. We camped at Musicland Kampground in a Motorhome.

French Quarter RV Resort, New Orleans, Louisiana

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $110.00
Overall Rating:

This is a clean, well maintained, gated park in the inner-city of New Orleans. Unfortunately there is nothing else good about it. The rates are extremely high. It is located right next to the interstate and road noise is loud day and night. Sirens blare all the time. WiFi does not work at sites. If you are looking for a very expensive parking lot then this is for you. Otherwise look elsewhere. We camped at French Quarter RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tropical Palms Resort, Kissimmee, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

This is our second stay at this park. The sites in the section we stayed at this time are tighter with not much room between sites. They do have level concrete pads. The site was plenty long for our 40ft motorhome and toad. The roads are narrow and difficult for big rigs. The park is clean but busy as you would expect in this area. We got a 1/2 price discount for being Passport America members which was great. We camped at Tropical Palms Resort in a Motorhome.

Williston Crossings RV Resort, Williston, Florida

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

This park is beautiful. The sites are of various sizes with the largest able to handle even the biggest rigs. The pads are mostly concrete and level. The park Wi-Fi was good. There are two parts to the park; an older wooded area and a newer open area. Both were clean, quiet and well maintained. In the winter months the park is an adult only facility. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome. We camped at Williston Crossings RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground, Asheville, North Carolina

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This park is convinient as it is close to Asheville. Unfortunately it is a very tight park with small sites. Some of the larger sites are right on the road actually outside the Campground which is not good. Road noise was a little loud. WiFi was ok but slow. Cable TV required a special remote from the office but worked well. The park appeared clean. There is a lower level area which has seasonals and that area was nice with more space between sites. Our picnic table was an old cracked plastic table which was unusable. We camped at Asheville's Bear Creek RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

River Plantation RV Park, Sevierville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a large beautiful campground. The sites which include back-in and pull-through sites are large enough to handle big rigs. Most sites are gravel with some premium sites having a concrete pad. The roads are in good shape with room to maneuver. There is a great pool area with multiple pools, hot tub and a small lazy river. The campground is very clean and well maintained. There was a problem with WiFi during our stay but they are working on installing a new system.

The area has everything you can imagine for entertainment, food, site seeing etc... We camped at River Plantation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Laurel Lake Camping Resort, Corbin, Kentucky

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $36.00
Overall Rating:

This is a beautiful, small campground located near the Daniel Boone Forest. It is immaculately clean with large gravel sites. It has pull-through and back-in sites with full hookups. There is room for big rigs with easy access. It has beautiful cabins also. It is gated so security is not an issue.

The owners are extremely friendly and can't do enough to make your stay great. We wish we could have stayed longer. We stayed there in a 42 foot rig. We camped at Laurel Lake Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Louisville North Campground (formerly Louisville Metro KOA), Clarksville, Indiana

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a campground! It is a small area of total asphalt and gravel with no grass whatsoever. The sites are so close together that the picnic table of the site next to us was up against our coach. I was unable to open our awning because it protruded into the street and would have been struck by passing RV's. I am not even sure I will be able to pull out without asking our neighbors to back up. The active railroad is 40 feet from the campground and homeless people tent camp on the other side of the railroad tracks. The only positive was that the staff was friendly.

Only acceptable for an overnight quick stop. We camped at Louisville North Campground (formerly Louisville Metro KOA) in a Motorhome.

Tiffin Motorhomes Service Area (For Service Customers Only), Red Bay, Alabama

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $10.00
Overall Rating:

This is not a campground. It is just a parking lot with hookups for the unfortunate customers who own Tiffin motorhomes and need service. They do let you stay free if your repairs are covered under the warranty. The sites have full hookups and there is a laundry room and store but that's about it. WiFi is so slow it is just about non-existent.

Tiffin makes a good product but the way they treat their customers who need warranty repairs is disgraceful. Customers who arrive at the campground (service facility) which will not make appointments are being told that they will have to sit and wait a month for service. This is unacceptable!!! We camped at Tiffin Motorhomes Service Area (For Service Customers Only) in a Motorhome.
