Livingston RV Park & Campground, Livingston, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We called ahead to get a reservation and reached a very friendly person. Upon arrival she had everything ready for us and we were escorted to our site. A very good reception. The park is a short distance south of I-90 with good signage to direct you to the turn into the park. Don't be put off by the neighborhood as you drive in as there are some rather sketchy structures along the way. Upon entering the park you will find a well maintained and nice location. The sites are spacious and utilities up to date. This is a good stop in Livingston. We camped at Livingston RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Downtown Livingston has maintained its historic character. Be sure to visit the Murray Hotel with its amazing lobby, with a sign at the front desk to check guns. Within the hotel is the 2nd Street Bistro where we had a great dinner. And also within the hotel is a bar with great atmosphere. Across the street is the former train station, now a museum. And adjacent to that in the former baggage room is a wine shop and bar.

Blackwell Island RV Park, Coeur d'Alene, Idaho

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

We arrived here late in the season. It is in a great location, particularly for families wanting to take advantage of the lake front site. Upon driving in we were impressed by the lush lawn along the roadway and the extensive fencing. We had called ahead to get a reservation and that turned out to be unnecessary but would expect that it would be essential during high season. Check in was friendly and helpful. Our site was in a circular layout with lots of space in between. Utilities were up to date and WiFi worked. A good stop for several days, or a one nighter when travelling on I-90. We camped at Blackwell Island RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Butte KOA, Butte, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

It was close to the end of the season when we stayed here in late September and this KOA closes in October. I had called ahead to make a reservation but got a phone message to show up as they had room. Upon arrival we were checked in by a person who others might complain about her attentiveness, but that didn't bother us. We got what we needed and found our site, hooked up, and had a good stay in a spacious site. There aren't many other options in Butte and this KOA is conveniently located near I-90 and not far from the historic part of Butte a bit north on the hillside. Our site was at the rear of the property, with the State Tourist Center next door. WiFi was good as was ATT cell. Utilities were up to date. A good stop. We camped at Butte KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Historic downtown Butte is very interesting with old buildings dating back to the late 1800's. And the Berkeley pit mine is worth seeing. As for dinner try Lydia's Supper Club, a throwback restaurant with excellent food and service. Check their website.

Jim & Mary's RV Park, Missoula, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

Our second stay and the best park in Missoula which has few alternatives. Saying that, this park would rate high in an area with lots of competition. The park was full even thought it was late September, and were glad we called ahead for a reservation. The office was closed when we arrived but all the information we needed was posted at the office to fine our site which was very spacious. One negative is that the electrical tower needs to be updated, difficult to attach a 50 AMP with a 50-30 AMP adaptor. Sites on the other side appeared to have updated towers. Showers and restrooms very clean. And no problem with train or traffic noise. We'll stay here again. We camped at Jim & Mary's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Mountain Acres Campground, Lewistown, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We had called ahead to be sure of a place when but were told to show up, no problem with reservations. When we arrived we expected to do a self check in but shortly a friendly manager appeared and checked us in. This is a spacious park with well maintained sites. We were on our way east and this was a stopover for the night. We would stay here again. We camped at Mountain Acres Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Lewistown is one of those towns that is hanging on. Lots of empty storefronts. It has a history and there are many historic buildings on its main street. Check out the neon. As for places to eat, mostly fast food, although we found a Mexican restaurant open on the main street. The next day we learned that there was a restaurant at the golf course, perhaps a choice for dinner. We ate in.

Horse Creek RV Campground, Circle, Montana

Date of Stay: September, 2018 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The WiFi signal was good, as was ATT cell service. And the 50 amp electrical and water worked. The negatives are that this is essentially a laundromat with a parking lot. Several sites had obviously been muddy from a recent rain. Utilities were not well maintained and we had to walk around to find a site that we were confident they were working. Circle is a very small town off the main stream so there is not a large demand for RV sites. Given that, we stayed the night and moved on. We camped at Horse Creek RV Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Howard Miller Steelhead County Park, Rockport, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2018 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a gem. Its location along the Skagit River provides a great headquarters for exploring the North Cascades. There are several sites along the river with numbers 9 through 14 back in sites, and 6 through 8 pull throughs along the access road. Site 8 is probably the best river site. Other sites are located inland a bit and some are arranged so that a group could be together. Water and power but no sewer though a convenient dump station is in the park. Reservations are by phone, no internet booking. The staff is friendly and helpful and maintenance is at a high standard. We'll definitely be back. Adjacent to the RV Park is a network of trails in the wetlands along the river. A bit west is Rockport State Park with another network of trails in a magnificent old growth forest. The town of Concrete is worth exploring to learn about its history. The 5B's bakery is a must. The North Cascades offers many other options for explorationo.

This is my regular stopover on the way north and south. Always friendly staff and you are escorted to your site. The sites are spacious and well maintaned. The restroom and showers are spotless. Though I-5 is close by, traffic noise is not an issue. I'll be back. We camped at Durango RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

The Lakes RV & Golf Resort, Chowchilla, California

Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $59.00
Overall Rating:

This was my second stay. A very good stopover on the way through the valley, which was my case, or the national parks are nearby and this would be a great base location. If you are going to stay overnight and move on, get a pull through site because the back-ins are short and would require unhooking your tow vehicle. Office staff was friendly and helpful. My site didn't have a table, while several others around my location did. The park has sites for sale and I figured out that those with tables are ones in private ownership. So if you show up and private sites are in the rental pool when you arrive, you'll probably get a table. We camped at The Lakes RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Olde Stone Village RV Park, McMinnville, Oregon

Date of Stay: February, 2018 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

This is a mobile home/park model with the RV section. The pads are close together with no trees or other vegetation so privacy would be an issue in good weather if one were outside. The restroom/shower facilities consist of only two units, making for a lineup when the RV section is full. The location is some distance from restaurants and other retail, nothing with walking distance except for the air museum which is next door. We camped at Olde Stone Village RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Lakeshore RV Park, Chelan, Washington

Date of Stay: September, 2017 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This park is owned and operated by the City of Chelan and is very close to the town center. It is adjacent to a city waterfront park with access through it to the shoreline. It is easy walking distance into the town with a Starbucks conveniently located along the way. Our site 78 was a bit awkward to back into because of the angle of the site with respect to the road. The best sites are at the closed end of the D and E loops. The sites are older, with the pad lengths a bit short. After disconnecting our 25 foot trailer I had to angle our truck sideways and still was barely off the road. Some sites definitely required blocking to get a rig level. The electrical service was older and did not have 50 amps. No matter, just brought out the adapter. There are very large trees which provide much needed shade in the summer. We found the staff members to be very friendly and helpful. This is a very popular park particularly in the summer, as reflected in the rates and minimum stay requirements. Check their website for the rate schedule. A very nice park in a great part of Washington. We camped at Lakeshore RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Walk into the town and stop by the visitors center. Very helpful people there. Get maps about the sculptures and murals around town and take the walking tour. Also a nice hiking loop around and between the two bridges. And of course the wineries, more than 30 of them. We started on the south shore and then the next day went to the Manson area. Best restaurant was Sorrento in Tsillan winery.

Trailer Ranch RV Park (55+ Park), Santa Fe, New Mexico

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

Good location to go into Santa Fe.
Upon arriving the staff is very helpful and will lead you to your site. Which are very tight. But no matter as they are very well laid out so that you do have privacy if you like.
Clean restrooms. And a very friendly, and overfed, cat will likely come by to visit.

Enchanted Trails RV Park & Trading Post, Albuquerque, New Mexico

Although a bit out of town, a really nice park. They have retro travel trailers for overnight use for rent and a really nice building with lounge and other facilities with other retro objects.
The pads are spacious with shade trees.

Very friendly staff.

Shady Lane RV Camp, Barstow, California

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $34.00
Overall Rating:

This park is a gem because of great service and the cleanest restrooms and showers you'll find anywhere.
A first impression upon arrival is that it is an old a tired park. Older yes, tired not. As others have said the greeting upon arrival is unexcelled and you only go back to the office and pay when you are satisfied with your spot and everything is hooked up.
While in an older building, the showers and restrooms are spotless.
Our pad was level gravel with nice shade trees.
