Blueberry Hill Motel and Campground, Goulais River, Ontario

Date of Stay: August, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

An overnight stop on our way back from the East. I booked a full hookup site online, and the owner emailed confirmation. However, when we arrived, we were told they had no full hookup site left. They gave us a 10% discount for a Power+Water site and lent us a honey wagon. I hope that was just a honest mistake, but in any case, I did not like the fact that my confirmed reservation was not honored. On a positive note, I was considering getting a honey wagon myself, and now I have practical experience with it. The bathroom / shower did not have adequate lighting IMHO, and is not welcoming. We did not end up using the shower. The camp host was friendly and helpful. We camped at Blueberry Hill Motel and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Just a note that Hwy 407 is a rather expensive toll road. We were aware of the 'toll' part of the statement, but not the 'expensive' part.

Recreationland Campground, Ottawa, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The actual washroom building does not have adequate lighting -- we can barely see anything once the stall door was closed. We ended up using the bathrooms in the shower building. While the lighting was better, it was in a state of what we would consider to be disrepair. We ended up mostly did not use the facilities. The site we had was at the edge of the campground right along side a road. The tall tree took care of the privacy issue, but as we have a hybrid travel trailer, and it was really noisy at night. The other major issue is related to the security of the reservation process. While the reservation web form is HTTPS protected, it says right on the form that the "form is not stored on any site, it is emailed direct to the campground." Emailing credit card number is a big NO-NO, as it is not a secure medium. I ended up using my low-limit card that I would not mind as much should it get compromised. We camped at Recreationland Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Camping la Cle des Champs, Saint-Philippe, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best campgrounds we visited. My understanding is that some of the sites are privately own, and some of them have substantial upgrades. The site we were staying had stone paved terrace, fire pit, and patio furniture. It was a very pleasant stay. The garbage dump was rather far though. We camped at Camping la Cle des Champs in a Travel Trailer.

Riverside RV Park and Campground, Edmundston, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It was an overnight stop for us from Halifax to Montreal. The campground was quiet when we were there, and our site was a little muddy from rain. Camp host was very nice -- he lent us his tank when we were out of propane and all the stores had closed for the night. Just a note that they did not accept any credit cards. We camped at Riverside RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Graves Island Provincial Park, Chester, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is on a small island, and the view is fantastic (if you manage to book a View Site *and* the weather cooperates). It was often foggy while we were there. The bathroom / shower was clean but old -- definitely not to the standard of better RV parks. The dish sink was close to the bathroom / shower building, which was quite far away from our site. The campground is gated and require an access card to open. There is a deposit for the access card. We camped at Graves Island Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground, Baddeck, Nova Scotia

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Sites are level but on the small side for our unit. No quite enough bathroom for the campground, and as a result, there is always a line up in the morning and evening. In addition, there is not enough hot water for shower for the campground either, and more than once we had some rather cool showers. Facilities are clean though.

The website on which we supplied credit card to book was not secured. I ended up using a low limit credit card that I don't mind getting compromised. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada), Prince Edward Island National Park, Prince Edward Island

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

By far one of the best campground we had. Each morning there was a large group of Park Rangers came by cleaning the bathroom and shower (I think there were like 6 people cleaning both) and the effort definitely showed. The only "issue" was that the dish sink was quite far away. Normally it wouldn't be an issue, but we were cooking mussels and other fishy food, and didn't want to dump it down our own sink. We camped at Cavendish Campground (Parks Canada) in a Travel Trailer.

Stonehurst Golf Course & Trailer Park, Moncton, New Brunswick

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Parked on grass, and did not really have a clear boundary between sites. The ground is relatively level. The sewer has a long white tube (something like 6 inches) coming out of the ground, which make the connection sort of weird. Both our neighbor and I wondered if it will work, but thankfully it did. Wifi not working well enough most of the day, but improves overnight. It must be because of the sheer amount of people trying to use it. Bathroom and showers were clean. We camped at Stonehurst Golf Course & Trailer Park in a Travel Trailer.

Camping de la Joie, Quebec City, Quebec

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

The park is on a rather steep hillside, but the sites are relatively level. There was an additional fee for Wifi on a per devices basis, but it only worked intermittently. The interior roads seem narrow -- I can imagine it could be tricky for larger unit. I understand the campground offer shuttle into the city, but we did not use. Yeah, there were traffic in the morning going into Old Quebec, but it was not that bad. We camped at Camping de la Joie in a Travel Trailer.

Sturgeon Falls KOA, Sturgeon Falls, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $45.00

Overnight on the way to the East -- pulled in late in the evening and left early in the morning. The shower is in the clubhouse and is quite a walk from our site. The mosquito situation was really really bad, but obviously it is not related to the park. I heard they had a really wet spring. We camped at Sturgeon Falls KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Penn Lake Park Campground, Marathon, Ontario

A very nice campground run by the town of Marathon. The bathroom / shower was very clean, but was a bit of a walk away. The campground is right beside a small lake, and it was really quiet when we were there. Definitely will return if coming this way again. We camped at Penn Lake Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Blue Lake Provincial Park, Vermilion Bay, Ontario

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

Overnight stay while driving to the East. We reserved an electric site, but it turned out the power post was shared between two sites, and it was on the other site. Our power cord was not long enough even with a 25ft extension cord. We were there on Canada Day, and the campground was full. As a result, the bathroom / shower was dirty. We camped at Blue Lake Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Kokanee Creek Provincial Park, Balfour, British Columbia

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed at the Friends Campground, within this park, and it was wonderful. The site was large and level, and it was quiet. There was a grey water dump (not for RV dumping) next to the drinking water tap that largely solved the no sewer problem. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
