Pumpkin Patch RV Resort, Hermon, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

This had to be the cleanest campground we have ever seen. There wasn't a piece of paper or cigarette butt anywhere. The bathrooms were freshly painted and refreshed with flowers. The staff was uber friendly and always greeted you with the biggest smiles. The sites were level and roomy. Hookups worked fine. The WiFi could have been better - it worked like molasses going uphill in the winter time. You're better off using your jet pack or cell phone hot spot. There were many channels on the cable tv hook up. The activity room is spacious and attractive. This was a GREAT campground!! We camped at Pumpkin Patch RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Green Valley Campground, Vassalboro, Maine

Date of Stay: June, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

All hookups worked fine. We were thankful for the cable since our satellite tv didn't work. The park could use a little extra TLC as it has a run down tired look. The bathrooms needed cleaning. There were cob webs that needed to be brushed away from last year and a coat of paint wouldn't hurt. Our GPS registered a 42% downgrade coming into the park. For some reason, they kept blocking the road as you entered (probably to stop people coming in too fast). A fox then a skunk lived (or died?) under the office making it smell so bad the managers couldn't even work there. The laundry room had two of four dryers broken and only two washers. They worked well but were also housed in the stinky office building. We camped at Green Valley Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Wild Acres RV Resort and Campground (formerly NASCAR RV Resorts), Old Orchard Beach, Maine

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $74.00
Overall Rating:

This is very much a large resort with year round trailers as well as a few transient campers. There are 5 pools and 3 hot tubs and loads of activities to do. Trees made the site pleasant. There was a fire ring and picnic table and excellent WiFi. All hookups worked well. The place was extremely crowded on Memorial Day weekend but calmed down afterward. You could walk to the ocean from the campground. We camped at Wild Acres RV Resort and Campground (formerly NASCAR RV Resorts) in a Fifth Wheel.

Mascoma Lake Campground, Lebanon, New Hampshire

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is tiered on a hillside. It was impossible to maneuver our 38' fifth wheel on the top level but the owner moved us to a lower spot. It is a difficult place for large rigs to get in and out of. The hook ups worked fine and we had a beautiful view of the lake across the street. The wifi was excellent! The sites are unlevel due to the hillside. This was a nice campground and the owners were very friendly and accommodating. We camped at Mascoma Lake Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Saratoga RV Park, Gansevoort, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

We were here just before the camping season began so things were not operational yet (I.e., the pool, etc.). There are many things to do here - pool, volley ball, horse shoes, basketball, etc. the campground is flat and open making it easy to maneuver into. The center campsites right behind the office had electrical surges so we moved to a site on the side. The wifi does not work. The laundry room is small but all 8 machines were in working order. This is a very nice campground. We camped at Saratoga RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Yellow Lantern Kampground, Cortland, New York

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We had electric and water hookup that worked fine (full hookups are available). Our 38' fifth wheel was an easy fit in our pull through site. Campsites are in a level, grassy field with lots of trees. Propane and camp store sales are available as is a laundry room. Staff was very friendly. The campground is close to town and an easy access off-81. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Yellow Lantern Kampground in a Fifth Wheel.

The 1890 House is only open Thursday thru Sunday so we didn't get to see it. The CNY Living History Center is a good attempt to chronicle the history of Cortland, various military conflicts, early tractors and farms, and the Brockway Truck Co.

Lehigh Gorge Campground, White Haven, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This was a delightful campground with lots of trees and winding pathways to make you feel like you truly had "gotten away from it all." Wifi was very good as was cell phone signal. All hookups worked fine. This is a gated community with most of the campground full of permanent trailers for those weekend visitors. There wasn't much to see in the area but to just kick back, enjoy a campfire, listen to the birds, and relax. The season doesn't start till Memorial Day so the campground was not yet in full swing. The pool was closed and maintenance folks were getting things ready. The laundry machines worked well. The game room had the rattiest looking pair of paddles on the table tennis table and no ball to be found. We camped at Lehigh Gorge Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Nahkeeta Campsite, Martinsburg, West Virginia

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

This is a very utilitarian campground. The owner (a former UK citizen) inherited the farm from her grandfather and turned it into a campground. Campsites are very spacious. Hookups (30 amp, water, and sewer) worked well although the water pressure was very low. There is no wifi and cell phone didn't work in the site either. There are no amenities here. This site is convenient to all the major attractions in the area. We camped at Nahkeeta Campsite in a Fifth Wheel.

Elkhorn Campground, Frankfort, Kentucky

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

$30 a night for just E&W seemed high. The wifi did not work. We had a nice site backed up to the creek. The paved site was narrow and uneven but there was room and lots of grass between sites. Dog walk is way up front along the road where you drive in. The dump site was backed up with campers waiting to dump so we didn't use it. Staff was very nice. We camped at Elkhorn Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Can't beat half price for SKPES! Good location for Mammoth Caves and other area attractions. All hookups worked very well. Site was level and pull through. Large field for dogs and kids to romp in. Grand Ole RV Resort, Goodlettsville, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Everything about this campground was marvelous - except the trains. The hookups were great, wifi was excellent, staff were super friendly, maintenance and upkeep were superb, and the camp store/restaurant were outstanding. We were touring the sights during the day so the trains weren't a problem. If you buttoned up at night, you could hardly hear the freight going by. We would definitely stay here again. Midway RV Park (Military FamCamp), Mid-South Naval Support Activity, Tennessee

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $21.00
Overall Rating:

Best place we've camped in yet! Free excellent wifi, free laundry, full hookups, spacious sites, all base services (commissary, NEX, package store, gym, etc). The south gate is closed on weekends and nonbusiness hours (not mentioned on website) but you can get in the main gate on Navy Road. They also need instructions on how to use those beautiful new eco friendly washers. All in all, this is a great campground for the money. Almost Home RV Park, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

As previous evaluations have stated, this is a good place for an overnight stop. The park is run down and had a neglected look to it. The sign advising campers of rules and rates is out of date and needs repair. All hookups worked fine and the wifi was excellent. Most sites were taken by permanent residents. We had to take a site next to the highway where traffic was constant. It was very noisy. We camped at Almost Home RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Turkey Creek RV Village - Escapees Rainbow Park, Hollister, Missouri

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $16.00
Overall Rating:

The park would get a 10 except it had no wifi. Everything else was perfect. All hookups worked perfectly. A cable tv hookup had loads of channels. People were always doing some kind of maintenance around the campground. It was in excellent order and good repair. There was even a fenced in dog run. You couldn't beat the cost of less than $16 a night to be so close to Branson, music capital of the world. No Escapees member should pass this place up. See both historic Hollister and historic Branson. Dick's 5&10 was like an old fashioned variety store on steroids. It seemed to have EVERYTHING. Catch a couple of shows in Branson. If you go to Dixie Stampede, Showboat Branson Belle, and Silver Dollar City show your ticket stubs. They're all owned by the same company and give you a discount.

Fort Chaffee RV Park, Fort Chaffee Maneuver Training Ctr, Arkansas

Date of Stay: April, 2016 - $11.00
Overall Rating:

What a gem! There's not many things to see in the area but this is that get-away-from-it-all kind of place. If you want a campground that feels like it's out in the wilds, stay here. The campsites were fairly level even though they were spread out on a hill overlooking a small pond and the post. They were spacious with lots of grass and trees. The hookups included 50 & 30 amp, water, and sewer and worked perfectly. There were laundry machines available at no cost. Soldiers were fishing in the pond. The only downside to this place was NO wifi. This is the only military installation I have ever stayed at that did not play the National Anthem in its daily ensemble of songs piped over the speaker system at 0600, 1700, and 2200 hours. We camped at Fort Chaffee RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
