Drummer Boy Camping Resort, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2017 - $69.00
Overall Rating:

We camped here with friends who have a seasonal site. This is a very large park! You will either need to bring or rent a golf cart here, over a mile long. Very large easy to navigate sites. We camped in the "front section" and the only thing you can hear is Highway 15 running right by! You will most certainly want a site in the back. Also, there was a slight noticeable sewer odor at times. Overall, the location is within easy distance of all Gettysburg has to offer. Very friendly staff, seasonal campers very nice, and park has alot to offer. Good internet and cell service. We will return. We camped at Drummer Boy Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Lums Pond State Park, Bear, Delaware

Date of Stay: November, 2016 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

First time staying here, and certainly not the last. We stayed for one night on Thanksgiving weekend and were amazed how many other people were camping here. It was full! When you think State Park, you think of very basic camping. For the price, it's incredible. Full hookups, paved sites (recently renovated). Very modern, and easy to navigate. Feels like an RV resort! Camp Hosts on sites, small store, and the property is beautiful. Only downfall was no firewood available for sale on site. We can't wait to go back! So much to do and see here. We camped at Lums Pond State Park in a Motorhome.

Ocean View Resort Campground, Ocean View, New Jersey

Date of Stay: October, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

Our first time staying at Oceanview... all I can say... WOW! We ended up staying here very last minute with friends, and the person who took my reservation was extremely helpful, and answered every question. With that said, every staff member was beyond friendly and helpful. We originally planned on staying by the lake, but, due to the rain we had all weekend, those sites were pretty muddy. We ended up being move to a pull through, that was 100 % level (that was a first!), and covered in stone. It honestly had to be the largest site I've ever seen. We have a 32 foot motorhome, and could easily fit 3 more on this site! This place is huge, and has a giant store, with a RV parts store right on the property. Very secure campground, with MANY seasonal campers, who were all very friendly. We cannot wait to return to Oceanview Resort! We camped at Ocean View Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Country Acres Campground, Gordonville, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $54.00
Overall Rating:

One of the best campgrounds in Lancaster County, PA! We ended up here after we stayed at another campground in the area, and chose to leave early, due to it being that bad! We were greeted by a warm staff, and found our site to be 100% perfect. This is a big rig park. Very easy to navigate. The location of this park is wonderful, with many attractions and dining options close by. Pool is wonderful (only one if ever seen with a zero depth entry!). This place is spic and span! Very nice park, and we cannot wait to return. We camped at Country Acres Campground in a Motorhome.

White Oak Campground, Strasburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

We used to enjoy staying at White Oak Campground. On our past trip, we were very displeased. While the staff is very friendly and helpful, we found the other campers there to be very rude. We had a fire going, and the neighbor told me that it was offending him. I'm sorry, but I paid for my site, and I'm going to have a fire. You don't run the campground! With the rally going on, people were walking on our site like crazy. The one plus to the campground is the location and the pool. Sites very tight and unlevel. We will not be returning! PS: Shared water connections! We camped at White Oak Campground in a Motorhome.

Heritage Bay Front Campground, Fortescue, New Jersey

Date of Stay: July, 2016 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

This campground is located just South of Millville, NJ. Sitting right on the Delaware Bay, the views are absolutely amazing! Sunsets are spectacular! This park is basic. Water, electric, that's it. Way overpriced for what it is. There is NOTHING down this way. We have friends who live in Fortescue, so that makes it fun for us. If you are into saltwater fishing, it's your paradise, with charters running daily. Higbees Marina and Charlesworth House are both nice places to eat. If staying here, beware of greenheads! Just look them up! They are plentiful. Sites are stone, back-in, and VERY TIGHT. We may or may not stay again. We were able to pull into our site so we could face the bay. No picnic tables, fire rings. Pay showers. WiFi, but no info given for pass code. Bathrooms required pass code. Had to call, no staff on site. Overall, decent, only one in area, but there are better. If you are over 32 feet, don't even try it! We camped at Heritage Bay Front Campground in a Motorhome.

Beachcomber Camping Resort, Cape May, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2016 - $46.00
Overall Rating:

We enjoyed our stay at Beachcomber. We decided to go last minute for a "shake down" trip on our new diesel pusher. We were so happy we chose to stay at Beachcomber. The sites are a bit tricky to back into, if you do not know what your doing. I drive professionally for a living, so it was nothing out of the norm for me. They will help you back in. Only complaint was they charge you refundable security deposits for your gate card as well as the cable box needed. Bathrooms were average. We will certainly stay again. We camped at Beachcomber in a Motorhome. We camped at Beachcomber Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Spring Gulch Resort Campground, New Holland, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

I think we found a new favorite in Lancaster County PA. Every fall, our family does a group trip to Lancaster. I have drove in and checked out the facility before hand, and found it to be wonderful. Deciding to go there, we all packed up our Motorhomes. Upon arriving, we found that the sites we we were having all together would be broke up, due to a camper having a breakdown on his truck. No big deal, we were close enough. The staff was wonderful. The store was well stocked with all the basics (including ice cream!) The sites were spacious, with full hook up and cable. Wifi was $4.00 a day, which we found to be not needed. Verizon coverage was excellent. We camped in the 400 section, which had a nice large field, so the dogs could run. The was also a house right by our sites, which was a bit different. The campground is huge, and we found many seasonal campers, but all were so friendly. This campground has a ton to offer. The sites are very spacious, and we cannot wait to come back and camp in the 1500 zone. Love the shaded sites up the hill. Also, we rented a golf cart from Renningers, which came in handy to explore the campground, and make trash runs and trips to the store. Also came in handy to buy firewood. Gated campground, which is awesome. Everyone in our group enjoyed the stay, and we have no doubt that we will make Spring Gulch an annual destination. We did not use the restrooms, but found them to be very clean. (Showers by dance barn were a bit odd, as they were shared by both men and women, but were privately divided.) Cable TV Service was excellent. To sum it up, we found this Resort to live to its expectation, and will certainly be telling our friends about it. We camped at Spring Gulch Resort Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to rent a golf cart from Renningers while staying here. You will need it to see the whole campground. Be sure to tour the local attractions. Visit, and learn the PA Dutch country and the amish culture. Its so nice to sit in the 400 section and watch the horse and buggys go by at night!

White Oak Campground, Strasburg, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

This was our second time staying at White Oak. The first time, we were out by the field while in our pop up. Since then, we upgraded to a 22 foot Class A. We had site 70 this time, which was pull thru. It may have been the tightest sight we have been on. It was perfectly level. We do not have any slides, and if we did, we would be hitting our neighbors patio awning! Another downfall was that the sewer hookup was a bit uphill, and so close to our neighbors site, that he had to step over it while out and about. With that said, we met some of the most friendly campers here. There was a rally going on this weekend, plus the Hershey RV Show, our main reason for coming to the area. Since we were all so close together, we really got to know each other. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and overall just nice. Delivered firewood right to my site for me. This is a small mom and pop campground, which we love. We would certainly stay here again. I highly suggest larger motorhomes to try to stay upfront, as it will have more room. Roads were very easy to navigate. All in all, we enjoyed our time here, and will be back soon!
PS: The roads leading into the campground are very hilly! You may want to think about this when towing. But the view from up there is amazing! We camped at White Oak Campground in a Motorhome.

Starlite Camping Resort, Stevens, Pennsylvania

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

This is a wonderful campground. We camped here last fall, and decided to come back because it was vintage weekend. Since having a vintage motorhome, we drove up. Not too many other vintage campers though. We camped on the mid-plateau area, which is wonderful for its view overlooking the valley, but the only downfall was there is no shade, and it was in the upper 90s all weekend. One of the nicest stocked camp stores I've ever seen. Many seasonal campers, but all were friendly. Nice large sites. The owners and extremely nice as well. One other thing that this campground is in Lancaster County, but it is a distance from the attractions. Yet it is nice and quiet. Unfortunately, we did have to leave a day early due to a family emergency, and the staff was very understanding and helpful. We can't wait to go back! Big rigs- take warning though, the roads are steep and tight coming in. Use low gear! The campground has some steep hills itself, so biking and walking is a good ol' workout. Lastly, there is no description to the view from the plateau sites. One must see for themselves! We camped at Starlite Camping Resort in a Motorhome.

Belleplain State Forest, Belleplain, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Campsite was extremely large for a state park. Its was even pull through. Near the showers, but I did not need them. Sites are spaced apart nicely. Office staff was helpful. Bike trails are great too. Easy access for RVs, escpically our Class A. The only complaint was on the site, the fire pit was inbetween the rv and picnic table, but we could have parked another way. We were under fire ban anyway. A few bugs, but a great one night stay. We camped at Belleplain State Forest in a Motorhome.

Parvin State Park, Elmer, New Jersey

Date of Stay: May, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

This is a state park located in South Jersey. Living not too far from here, I decided to take a short, one night trip. When trying to reserve online through the Reserve America site, I was told there was a two night minimum. However I did call, and the office personal informed me to just come over on the day I would like to check in. Doing so, you will pay a walk- in fee. So $25.00 a night, still, not bad at all. After getting all the info, you will have to drive to the other side of the park to get your site. I had site 27, and informed them I have a 22 foot RV. I just about made it down the road to this particular site, but, being full that night, its was pretty much all that was available. Though, my RV did some tree and shrub trimming. The site was fairly large in width, it wasn't very deep. With the tight road, back in was a struggle, and, the site was very un-level. But, I had plenty of room to put the awning out. Very quite, and away from other sites. I just wish I did have another site;however, as I saw ones open that would be better access for me. I will however camp here again. State park- no hookups! We camped at Parvin State Park in a Motorhome.

Hospitality Creek Campground, Williamstown, New Jersey

Date of Stay: April, 2015 - $90.00
Overall Rating:

Many people think this is pricey, but Hospitality Creek by far is our favorite campground. The owners and very friendly, the park is maintained and cared for, with spotless bathrooms and showers. A lot of seasonals, but all are friendly. Beautiful lake and property, with all everything and more. You truly get what you pay for. Open April-October. Large Spacious, and private sites. I should also mention that there are several rules, and they do enforce them, yet, there's never any problems in this park. We go here just about once a month during the season.
