Dakota Ridge RV Park, Golden, Colorado

Date of Stay: November, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

The campground is just OK. There are some sites that are relatively leveled or that you don't need to do much to level your RV, but most of the sites are not leveled and the really bad ones won't be occupied.

There are 2 sides to the park, the right side (viewed from the entranced road) looks newer and sites are good. Most sites have a big size grass area and the pull-throughs will have a shared grass with another RV, so your front steps will be facing another RV's front steps. We had nice neighbors so we didn't mind it, but would prefer not to, not sure why they did it this way. We were here at winter time and can imagine that it can be tight at summer time when both want to open their owning.

They also have back in sites that won't have that problem BUT the park is surrounded by 2 major roads, and there's a lot of traffic, those back-ins get all the noise, but seem to have more privacy.

Do not bother with their wifi :(

And they do no accept mail!!! You need to rent a mail box if you want any mail. Their club house is very nice and pleasant.

Overall we will stay here. We camped at Dakota Ridge RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Grand Junction KOA, Grand Junction, Colorado

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $40.00
Overall Rating:

It's a very very nice KOA campground, even though it's located between 2 roads and can get loud, you don't hear much of it when you're in your RV. The WiFi is average. The short term spaces are wonderful. They got some pull-throughs with nice green grass between each site as well as some fence for privacy. They also have some back-ins, which end looked like were occupied by long term, they did not have grass. All sites are gravel (which isn't much fun for dogs in general), and they also have what they call deluxe sites that are quite fancy with a nice paved patio that comes with outdoor furniture a fancy grill and fire pit, these sites are very very specious and come with a very big grass area. We were able to run and play with our dog that just loves being on a grass. Some of the sites have mature trees and some not.

We were here for only one night but will definitely come back if in the area. We camped at Grand Junction KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables, Moab, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $20.00
Overall Rating:

What a great value! We hesitated to book a site because it's the farthest from Arches but when we arrived we LOVED it.

The main road in Moab is extremely noise and all the other campgrounds are on the main road, this one is just a bit off and super quiet.

It looks very clean and well maintained, each site has some trees and grass, some more mature than others.

Their back-ins are quite difficult to get into but so worth the effort since they are more specious and has bigger grass area.

Their WiFi is just OK, sometimes worked well and sometimes was slow.

They have very basic things and that's what we prefer.

The price reflects Passport America, and they take it on weekends as well. We stayed for only 2 nights but plan on coming back to Moab and definitely stay here.

This park is a great example to what an RV park should look like and cost. We camped at OK RV Park & Canyonlands Stables in a Fifth Wheel.

Richfield KOA, Richfield, Utah

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $42.00
Overall Rating:

It's a very quiet park. We were here in late October so the park was half empty, so we really enjoyed privacy.

They had big mature trees that will provide shade on hot days, as well as green grass everywhere and in almost every spot.

WiFi work mostly OK.

They owners are new, only been taking on the park a year ago and have been cleaning up the park and still in the process of it. They've renovated the club house, which is simply cozy updated and very very nice with huge plasma TV and great speakers.

They also renovated the laundry area, which feels very pleasant. They have a good number of washer/dryer.

We have Verizon and had good cell reception.

We stayed here for 2 nights on our way to Denver.

If we were looking for entertainment and restaurants we would probably stay in Cedar City but we were looking for more of quiet camping. We camped at Richfield KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $65.00
Overall Rating:

It's beautiful park, great WiFi, individual bathroom/shower combo. Beautiful sites and a great swimming pool as well as nice gym.

The reason why we didn't give it a 10 is that we do think it's a bit overpriced, their "premium plus" sites aren't better than the cheaper "premium" sites, as well as their ridiculous rule of no dogs on any grass (we had to ignore it).

We will probably be back. We were here in the month of late October and was very pleasant we didn't need to put the AC on at all. We camped at Oasis Las Vegas RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Mountain Valley RV Park, Tehachapi, California

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

It's such a beautiful quite place. It's very basic, got laundry, bathrooms, and shower. It park of the airstrip grounds but don't let that turn you off because it's not a regular airport where you hear airplanes all day long. On the contrary, if you're lucky you'll be able to see a nice show of a vintage airplane taking off.

You got mountains all around you, very peaceful.

No WiFi but Verizon worked well.

The sites are all pull-throughs of gravel/dirt that are separate by different type of trees, feels private.

We loved it. We camped at Mountain Valley RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Betabel RV Park, San Juan Bautista, California

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

No cell reception, rude management. All they care is money. The park looks 'OK' but not nearly according to the reviews. Their pictures in the website are old, everything is dry now and no shade at most sites, it's mostly dirt. The only thing they do have is a nice lawn for dogs. The advertise WiFi but it's the worst we came across to, so we didn't bother with that. They are on Hwy 101 and it's very, very noisy, if you want to sleep well avoid this park. We camped at Betabel RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Pomo RV Park & Campground, Fort Bragg, California

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $45.00
Overall Rating:

This was one of the best campgrounds we've been to. Granted most likely you won't have cell reception in the park itself but down the road you could. Wifi was surprisingly good since it's a big park (about 100 sites or more).

The roads are paved and the sites are gravel, each site was very spacious and private!!! We loved it, we happened to be able to stay for just one night but will definitely can consider a longer period of time. The sites were mostly shaded and separated by trees and bushes from the one next to it.

The bathrooms and showers were clean and very beautiful.

It's great if you come group of friends but doesn't suit children.

They have nice big grass space for dogs.

I gave it a 9 and not 10 only because of no cell reception. We camped at Pomo RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Caspar Beach RV Park, Mendocino, California

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

Stay away from this place!! It's the worse RV park we've ever been to and we've been to many.

We were so close to our neighbors that our slides couldn't open full!!!!! (We have 5th wheel 3 slides).

The bathrooms showers are what you'll expect to have on a beach, there's nothing of a "resort" in this place.

This cannot be a good Sam Club RV park, we thought we could trust it but it's really bad. It's all dirt and sand, their entrance is looking nice with grass and flowers but the park is run down. We camped at Caspar Beach RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Ancient Redwoods RV Park, Redcrest, California

Date of Stay: September, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

The park has paved roads and RV sites, there's a nice distance between sites with grass. The park is surrounded by trees but doesn't have any mature trees in the middle, so hardly shaded.

The spots that could be more shaded are the back ins. It relatively quiet and the people are really nice, no dog park and it's not geared to families, which we liked since we prefer the quiet.

Wifi worked great for us, one of the best!

Showers and bathroom are not fancy but very comfortable and clean. We camped at Ancient Redwoods RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

One of the best state parks we've been to. Location is great, it's quite and close to great trails and views. Lots of blackberries to pick ;)

Water pressure was great, the spaces are big enough. No cell reception in the campground but outside less than a mile there's reception. We camped at Sunset Bay State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Crown Point RV Park, Corbett, Oregon

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This is our favorite RV park !!! according to an overall feel we were looking for in a park.

It's a small park, about 15 spots, some of the people are seasonal but everyone is super friendly. We immediately felt like we could stay here for a long time. It's the only park that you WON'T hear the train it is very quite, maybe some of the others may look nicer but this one feels welcoming and family like.

It's in the heart of Columbia Valley, on the hill. It is only 25min away from Portland but has the best location for hiking and more attractions around.

Wifi works GREAT!!!! Water pressure is very good.

Our dog loved it here and she's picky ;)

It doesn't look perfect but rather feels very homey, each spot has nice green grass on both sides and the spots has nice space between each other.

We've never given a park 10 stars, even not the "resort" really beautiful ones, but this one even though it's not prettiest, it's just made us feel like we belong. We camped at Crown Point RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Horn Rapids RV Resort, Richland, Washington

Date of Stay: August, 2015 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

It's a big park, very clean and well maintained. Water pressure was good (btw, we had discovered that by changing our water filter in the RV our water pressure gotten much much better!).

They have cable packages and videos for "rent", you pay $2 for a movies that you get back when you return than movie.

They have few facilities for bathrooms/shower/laundry combination, they are very clean and look very nice.

They got a lot of green nice grass everywhere, so no matter where your site is you can be sure you'll have more than just a small piece.

We spent there only 2 nights and heard from others that their pool is really great and that they also have a hot tub.

Even though they have restrictions about dogs as every park has, they were not looking for trouble, we were able to have our dog be off leash just so we can play Frisbee with her and let her have some exercise, as I said before they got a lot of green grass everywhere.

They also have volleyball, horseshoe and shuffle board, they had a very nice fenced in dog area with very nice green grass, that you could wash your dog there too.

Last thing is that they have mini-mart, similar to when you stop at a gas station one. We camped at Horn Rapids RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A lot of space!!! The owners are very kind and we loved the story that comes about the RV park.
