Buffalo KOA , Buffalo, Wyoming

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

Signage to campground good. Large area to park and register. Office staff friendly and efficient. Access roads to sites gravel and well maintained. Sites are gravel and grass with small trees. Hook-ups are in odd places on sites. We had patio site which was large. Quiet despite being close to town center. Well maintained but let down by scruffy seasonal/worker units. We camped at Buffalo KOA in a Motorhome.

Glenwood Canyon Resort, Glenwood Springs, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Signage to campground good. Access road to office narrow and limited area to park and register. Office friendly and efficient. Mixture of sites available. Sites near river are in trees but a little rough. Back-in sites on access road hill good but slightly awkward to get into particularly with a 40ft motorhome. Need to watch large boulders. Currently putting in new sites between office and river sites. Good location with superb views from top back-ins. Superb municipal bike/waking river trail adjacent to campground. Some rail and road noise. Expensive for time of year and over rated in Woodalls. We camped at Glenwood Canyon Resort in a Motorhome.

James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section), Fruita, Colorado

Date of Stay: April, 2008 - $22.00
Overall Rating:

Signage to campground good. Usual State Park entrance so limited area to park and register. Access road to sites wide, paved and well maintained. Sites are spacious, well set up,with concrete pads and services in good position for easy hook-up. There is a mixture of pull-thrus and back in with half having full-hook ups, the rest are water and electricity. Mainly open aspect campground with great views of Colorado Monument and close to Colorado River. Excellent facilities but reserve ahead as very popular even in spring. Close to Colorado National Monument Park entrance. We camped at James M. Robb-Colorado River State Park (Fruita Section) in a Motorhome.

Montrose / Black Canyon Nat'l Park KOA , Montrose, Colorado

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $28.00
Overall Rating:

Limited signage to campground, one could miss the road to it if not careful. Open campground with limited signs to say where to stop and register. Owners were friendly and efficient. Access roads to site were well maintained but a little narrow on turns due to fences. Sites are gravel with grass and are all pull-throughs. The whole site was well maintained. The owners are currently putting in additional sites and slowly developing the campground into a deeded plot resort. Quiet, despite being near town center. We camped at Montrose / Black Canyon Nat'l Park KOA in a Motorhome.

Mesa Verde RV Resort, Mancos, Colorado

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $41.00
Overall Rating:

Signage to campground good. Limited area to park and register. Office was not manned when we arrived, eventually appeared after we had set up on site. Had about five full-hook-up very long pull-thru sites all gravel which we could have got our rig on twice. This part of campground had no trees, other part of campground had trees but were shorter sites (some were not open due to time of year). Access roads were narrow in places and not well maintained. Expensive for time of year but no other campground was open. Half a mile from entrance of Mesa Verde National Park. We camped at Mesa Verde RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This is really a park homes site with RVs on vacant lots. Entrance wide but limited area to park and register. Office staff friendly but not that efficient. Access roads to sites paved, well maintained, but tight particularly on corners. Sites are flat and very wide with full-hookups. Quiet. We camped at Lamplighter RV Resort (55+ Park) in a Motorhome.

Desert's Edge RV Village, Phoenix, Arizona

Date of Stay: March, 2008 - $25.00
Overall Rating:

Limited signage to campground. Due to road work nearby directions to campground had changed. The campground is located in an industrial area next to the Interstate 17. Entrance to campground quite narrow and limited area to park and register. The office staff were friendly and efficient. Access roads to sites were paved but were a little narrow on the corners. The sites are fine gravel, flat and with full-hook-ups. The campground is beautifully landscaped and well maintained. Have specific enclosed dog runs and a dog grooming station. Some road noise and light aircraft noise. Good rate for monthly and weekly stays but asked $50 a day when we wanted to extend. We camped at Desert's Edge RV Village in a Motorhome.

Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA, Holbrook, Arizona

Date of Stay: February, 2008 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

There are limited campgrounds available in this area to visit the Petrified Forest. This campground is a glorified car park with no landscaping and was very muddy. Entrance was quite tight and limited area to park and register. Sites are flat and wide but totally gravel. Dog walk was just the perimeter around the campground. Would not stop here again We camped at Holbrook / Petrified Forest KOA in a Motorhome.
