Answer: I believe the best and fastest way is to go down to Abingdon, then take I-81 up to exit 45 (Rt. 16). Stay on Rt. 16 through Marion right to the park. You will have no trouble with a 24' trailer. Rt. 16 is extremely hilly and curvy north of the park, known as Back of the Dragon for motorcycle enthusiasts, so don't try to come down Rt. 16 from the north. Have a good time!

Answer: We came in from Louisville direction, so it was on I-81 towards the end. Just follow directions to Marion VA. The road into the campground from that direction was fairly narrow and winding. But we were able to do it in a 35' motorhome with a fairly new driver. I'm not sure what it would be like coming in from the north. Warning: on the way out (same way we came in) our onboard GPS kept telling us to Uturn or take other turns to get off the road. Not necessary. We think it was because it didn't know details of the road we were on. There was no problem as long as we were careful. We did leave early in the morning to avoid another large vehicle coming in the other direction.

Answer: The only way I've approached Hungry Mother SP is via I-81. From I-81 South, take exit 47 & follow signs on Route 11 to Park Road (right turn). From I-81 North take exit 44 & follow Route 11 into Marion to Park Road (left turn).
