This was our very first RV trip and an excellent choice for us. The park had all we expected. Mini-Golf, clean hot pay showers and restrooms. The very close lake and beachfront was clean. The lots were level enough and large. Ample space and shady without blocking the sun entirely. Quiet but fun. The evening John Deer tractor ride was excellent fun for the kids who also loved the small petting zoo with Oreo and Minnie who are the resident goats. Lots to do for the three nights we spent. The staff was super friendly and excited to help with things we missed packing for our first outing. Excellent spot for our first trip. Nothing negative to mention at all. We will be back I am sure. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Great little campsite and very friendly. Hayrides, mini golf, and a petting zoo for the kids. You can even help feed the animals (though check for times). They have lambs, calves, chickens, ducks, and rabbits! The mini golf was good, store was well stocked. Sunsets over the lake are magnificent. Only downside was there are a lot of sites (especially the full hookups) which were taken up with more seasonal and long term campers so definitely try to make a reservation first. Everyone very friendly though. We camped here in a Motorhome.
Very nice campground, owners are great, quiet away from the highway. Bird sanctuary close by, they have hay rides around the campground, kids love it. All in all one of my favorite places to RV. We camped here in a Motorhome.
It is unfortunate that we have to rate this the worst RV park we have ever stayed at - but it was. We are experienced campers and have stayed at many (100+) campgrounds in Canada and the US. You drive into this RV park - it is a culture shock to see the 'seasonal' RVs - a very poor impression - sites overcrowded with junk, homemade outdoor showers, etc. When we called for a reservation 1 1/2 months before we were to arrive in Strathmore it was 1st come 1st serve (reservations are now accepted) we got a site out in the back 40. The site was not level and full of holes; the sewer hook-up was a foot or more out of the ground - your hose came out of the RV - laid on the ground - when it reached the sewer hook-up it had to go upwards for a about a foot. You had to hold your sewer hose up off the ground when dumping. The sewer, water and electrical were all close together - it was not pleasant. There were 'many' sites empty due to several problems - either the electrical did not work or there was a problem with water, etc. The Wi-Fi was $20 for 4 days but it did not work - took some convincing on our part to get a refund; the water/pressure at our site was acceptable. The Manager was very nice but was overworked. Strathmore is a nice town - we lived there for 25 years - but we are totally embarrassed by this campground - it could be a gem! The sites at the entrance are nicely treed and a decent size - but taken over by seasonal rvs and they do what they want with their sites! We did get a 'rule' sheet but it is obvious the seasonal people do not abide by the rules nor are the rules enforced. There is a shortage of GOOD campgrounds in the Calgary/Strathmore area - if the Ag Society put some thought and hard work into this campground it would be great! We would not recommend this campground and we would stay at a truck stop rather than camp here again. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel.
